- While trying out all the delicious Karinderias in the city of Tagaytay, Cavite, I noticed my hair was getting a bit shaggy. So I popped on in to The Assembly barbershop in nearby Amadeo and went in pogi but came out gwapo.

The best haircuts I've had has been from barbers in the Philippines, it doesn't matter if it's the barbers from the public market that charges 50 pesos or the big malls that charge 500. No barber here in the US regardless of price has matched the attention to detail, work ethic, and care that Filipino barbers give each client.
Honestly, Filipino barbers are one of the best. Because, Filipino hair is difficult to cut. 10/10 Kuya Kurt.
Filipino barbers and hairdressers are definitely one of the best in the world 👍👍👍
Totally agree 👍 👍👍
Hopefully after the haircut you'll look like a Hollywood actor😅
Your cheerful demeanor and hearty laugh definitely create a different dynamic to your vlog that evokes myriad of happy thoughts, positive vibes and energy. Maraming salamat, Kurt for always sending us a ray of sunshine and big smiles.
The simple nuances, tagalog expression that you use is so impressive e.g. "grabe lang", "ano ba", "teka lang", "oo nga", "ay talaga", "ano ga", "ala-e", "grabe no", "tsaka",
U sound like local with a slang hahahahaha
The barber was actually good and they are friendly and very accommodating. The haircut was very good .The ambience was very welcoming and fun. Thanks for sharing.
Kabayan ayos ka talaga. Basta tuloy tuloy lang kausap sa mga Pinoys matututo ka talaga ng Filipino tapos gusto namin yung kwentuhan...
I admire your genuinely friendly kuya kurt. You share your know-how to start vlogging to the simple people. God bless🙏🏼
Kuya Kurt ito yung gusto ko na content mo- ang nakikipag-usap sa mga tao! Ang bait din ng mga barbero. Kakaenjoy talaga.
With his new haircut, Kurt has become 10 years younger and more good looking. 👍
Kaibagal... where we used to live with my love one who passed away. Many memories there... :( and our kids misses the place and want to go back there!
@tagalogkurt stopped by yesterday to visit the friendly crew at The Assembly and imho got the best haircut I've had in years. Manny's a pro and you won't get a better cut anywhere else. Fabulous head massage and nice, tight medium fade. Will probably stop back by for a hair color and trim before I head back to the states. Will make sure I get my haircut everytime I'm back home in the motherland. Kudos to the Assembly Team! Amazing cuts!
Very nice banter & good way to learn Tagalog! Nice way to start a day! Making people comfortable in a business you're dealing with is a nice way to 'build bridges'! Good job!
They were so kind and accommodating! I was happy to practice the Tagalog with them
You must have been a Mormon missionary as you came from Utah. Good job you're doin kuya Kurt. God bless!
I think you should definitely go back to The Assembly in the future. That was fun to watch. Nice haircut. 😊Iyon ang pinakamasayang pakikipag-ugnayan na panoorin.
These guys are the best! They were so much fun and engaging. Shout out to these guys 🙌

It so happened that I'm watching you having a haircut. And you were asking about the word pogi. Pogi is a slang for guwapo. I hope this helps. Good luck!
Sorry Kurt, but I had to come back! By far this vlog is one of your bests! Honestly entertaining! Very good way to improve on your Tagalog! Godspeed!
Thank you po! It definitely was a challenge trying to stay Tagalog the whole time 🥵🥵🥵
Thank you for not doing another food review. LOL Need more diversity!

It's really fun to watch Kurt speak almost-flawless Tagalog. 😅
Hahah keyword is "almost"!😂🙌
Kurt, thank you and your editor for adding both English and Tagalog subtitles to help people learn!
In Filipino slang, to "have a nosebleed" is to have serious difficulty conversing in English with a fluent or native English speaker.
When a Filipino tells you “nosebleed” it means he/she is having a figurative nosebleed from the mental torture of trying to understand what you’re saying. We usually say this with humor. We know when we’re at our wit’s end when conversing with you native English speakers and we acknowledge the fact by saying “nosebleed!”

That haircut looks nice. We have a talented barber here in our place, he only asked for 1 dollar, but i always gives him 2. I can give him more, but there is no shampoo nor massage.

Filipino does not have hard in using English language, depends in tenses, as they said, we learned English since Kindergarten till College, only the accent, but we speak very clear English!!! I’m proud to be a Filipino!!!!

Hi Kuya Kurt,
Love your videos! You mentioned your jowa twice in this vlog. Is your jowa here in Pinas or States? Is she Filipina or American? Just wondering because I never knew you had a jowa. Keep the videos coming they are very informative and entertaining. You are truly a Filipino brother from another mother!
Pang hollywood na ang peg ng haircut mo kuya kurt!

Dapat meron side by side photo ng before and after.
Sizzlingan ni Aleng Meng it means they cater food on Hot Plate or Sizzling plate.
Gwapo ni Kuya Kurt
Kuya Kurt so Pogi.. Fresh looking.. hahahah.. you look like 19YO again..
I am from Lipa, you can try Lomi or Chami (Tamis Anghang) there. There’s also a good restaurant there from a friend of mine “Vicente’s Bahay Kainan at Kantahan” or you can try sir the newly opened Café of my sister. The shop called CCUP.
Nosebleed started from a comedy movie in 2007 with one of the actress named Ruffa Mae Quinto having a hard time speaking english. She mentioned the word nosebleed and that where it started.
Nose bleed is a slang word , of someone who try hard to speak the English word or try to form a sentence to communicate. But it doesn’t insult no one . Because most Filipinos understand English since it’s not a daily communication used . English is the standard teaching in school aside from Tagalog.
Diyan ako nagpapagupit! Mas gusto ko sa barbershop kasi may masahe.😆
For me, 40 is the new 20✌️😁
Punta ka sa bayan ng Ibaaan. Lomi is the specialty there. My wife came from that town, Ibaan.
gwapo bossing kurt same tayo pangalan
Kambal Tayo pre! 🙌🙌🙌
If you’re still in Lipa, best to check out “ pastillas kabaong “( coffin candy) which is bought in a local funeral parlor. Research on the old families Katigbak & Africa. Lipa has old 18th & 19th century flavor. Land of the old sugar barons. From Washington state here. Enjoying your vlogs.
Also ask them about “ paho “ or “ pajo “. Pickled small mangoes which is a local delicacy.
10 guapo!😄
Pogi na.
