I only discovered this movie, a few years ago, with my grandchildren. It quickly became one of our favorites. If you know kids, that usually means you have to watch it a whole lot of times before they move on. Sometimes, this can drive a grandma crazy, especially if there’s a song or songs, that no matter how annoying they are, you can’t get it out of your head, and find yourself singing it, even when you’re alone in your car.
However, this movie never got old for me. I love it to this day, and am happy to watch it, through your eyes this time. I know you’ll enjoy it.

Notice how Viper was never mean to Po? She was never rude or dismissive. She was the only one who was always nice to him and she even got after Mantis for making fun of him. She is my favorite because she fights so well even though she was born with a disability (she has no fangs and no venom).
And yes, acupuncture does work. My wife has almost constant knee pain and medicines do not touch the pain. The only thing that works is acupuncture. Our doctor explained that the needles are placed right up against nerves and pain receptors and tweak the nerves to have the body release endorphins. This action causes the body to release natural pain killers which are already aligned with the body's natural internal chemistry which can vary significantly from person to person which is why manufactured drugs affect people differently.
And you should absolutely watch the other films.
Master Shifu is actually a Red Panda. Just a fun little play on species with the title. HIs name is also the Mandarin word for "Master" making Master Shifu "Master Master"

One thing to keep in mind...Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks movies are NOT made just for kids. Because it's animation that's the assumption that a lot of people make but there are a lot of adult concepts/themes/references that kids are not going to get. You need to react to KFP 2 and 3 as well.
Shifu isn't a mouse. He's a red panda :). Yes that was the late Michael Clarke Duncan as the head rhino at the prison.
The one feather is like in the Matrix when the Oracle told Neo not to worry about the vase, which he then breaks, apologizes and she says not to worry about it because what would bake his noodle later is whether he would've broken it if she hadn't said anything. IF Shifu hadn't panicked and sent the messenger who ended up losing that single feather, would Tai-Lung have escaped???
This is one of my favorite animated movies. It honestly had no business being this good lol. But it's officially a classic in my book. The 2nd and even 3rd were good too!
If I recall correctly Tigress is played by Angelina Jolie
When Po is fighting on bamboo stilts, he's re-enacting the chopstick fight he had with Master Shifu. *All* of his training is useful. And Po's secret power is that he's bouncy, which means that his style of kung fu is unique to him.
Honestly, this entire Trilogy was a big part of my childhood. Kung Fu Panda inspired me to take martial arts classes. Unfortunately, either due to my stubbornness to put in the work to train and less and less students showing up after moving to another location the dojo got shut down, and my father and I had only gotten up to a high blue belt rank.
Even years later, about 8 or so, I still think about my past mistakes and I regret not putting in the time and effort.
But as for the trilogy, I see an underlying theme in Kung Fu Panda. I would say that more than anything it is a story of identity.
The Whole Trilogy is Fantastic!
You find out about Po's history and is genuinely some of my favorite movies! Definitely watch the 2nd and 3rd!
The opposing philosophies in this movie are insane. Daoism (Oogway) and Confucianism (Shifu) especially in the peach tree scene.
Also the fact that it all hinges on mindset and potential. Both Po and Tai Lung had potential. They were both able to learn techniques just by seeing them (Tai Lung with the nerve technique and Po with the Wuxi finger hold). The difference in them lies in self-worth outside of themselves. When Po opens the scroll, he sees his reflection and says “it’s blank.” When Tai Lung sees his reflection in the scroll he says “it’s nothing!” It’s just so profound for what’s meant to be a “funny haha Jack black is a panda” movie.
Something that really struck me was when Tai Lung opens the scroll, looks down at his reflection and says, "It's nothing!"
It's powerful symbolism of his lack of internal self value.

Kung Fu Panda 4 is a movie I’d go see in theaters in 2024 if it stays on track as planned. Heck, I’d rent out an auditorium in the movie theater for it and make everyone go. 😂

Great reaction! Kung Fu Panda 2 is my favorite of the trilogy, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of that one.
I saw this movie as a kid when it came out in 2008 and loved it
Kung Fu Panda 2 and Kung Fu Panda 3 aren't sequels in the way Home Alone 2 is, for example. They aren't attempts to recreate the original movie, with maybe a few new jokes, or to make a new movie in the style of the original movie. They're more of a trilogy, like Lord of the Rings - a single story that requires three movies to tell completely. And yes, they're both well worth watching.
Po is on a hero's journey, and becoming the Dragon Warrior is just the first stage of that journey. He still has much to learn, about himself, about his own history, about kung fu, about *life.* If you miss Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3, you miss two thirds of Po's journey.
When me and a buddy watched this in theaters. We were the only people that weren't accompanied by an adult. Same thing with Yu-Gi-Oh movie. 16 year olds catching an early movie as it is cheaper, then bowling and arcade afterwards.

A great insight into traditional Chinese mindset. It took Hollywood to bring it ;-) The Furious Five are based on different Tai Chi styles. The sensei is a 'red panda" ... watch CZcams on how a 'red panda' defeats a nefarious pumpkin ;-) Tai Lung = Heaveny Dragon ... ironically. He is a snow leopard. Kung Fu = Fooling Around. Funny from start to finish. Shifu doesn't get inner peace until the third movie.

For a while, I wondered why they didn't just let Tai Lung see the empty scroll. But it occurs to me that so long as he thought the scroll held a secret, he'd focus all his efforts on getting it, instead of going on a mindless rampage with hundreds of innocent casualties.
If he see the scroll sooner, he would’ve gone outrage on Shifu and Oogway

I think Kung Fu Panda is the best martial arts flick ever made, live action or animated. The sequels are almost as good IMO.

I was kind of annyoed when the movie came out.
You got Kung Fu Panda noodles and other stuff and i thought the movie must be kind of bad when they put this much effort in merchandise.
A little bit later I came across a file of the movie. A ripped (dubbed) version.
So I watched it anyways. And I watched it again and again.
For I birthday my girlfriend at the time asked me what I`d like and I said the DVD of Kung Fu Panda.
So I could watch it in the dubbed German version and in the original one.
Must have seen the movie at least 20 times.
It looks so good because they put much effort in the animation.
In "the making of" the director tells that they put much effort in the animation of the furr.
That it behaves realistic, and the the clothes also interact realistic with the furr.
I saw some new animation movies with my nieces recently and I think that the animation of Kung Fu Panda is much better.
The "mouse" is an endangered species, a red panda we all know from the firefox logo.
Dustin Hoffmann, the voice of Shifu said that he wanted his character to be an endagered species.
Surprisingly, each sequel to Kung Fu Panda is better than the last one! It's one of the few movie franchises that gets better with each installment. in my opinion, you will not be disappointed!

If you want to watch more Dreamworks animated films u need to watch How to Train Your Dragon. It’s my favorite Dreamworks movie
I don't really remember KFP2, but 3 is great.
Also, it's funny how Jack Black makes both the filthiest (Tenacious D) and the most wholesome (these movies, along with Nacho Libre and his CZcams channel especially) stuff out there.

The sequel is decent, I definitely recommend you watch the 2nd one but I think you should just watch it alone, like I said it's decent but I don't think it'll pull in views for you like this one did
A large amount of people think the 2nd is the best of the three so I think it’ll definitely get the views.
