How to Make the Perfect Lip Balm with Shea Butter and Beeswax!

Enjoy this organic natural lip balm! Simple, natural, and easy to create! It has a long shelf life and works well to moisturize the skin on the lips. Our recipe utilizes pure ingredients that you can feel good about putting on your body and on our children's bodies. I love that you can control the quality and scent, yet at the very same time, you get much more bang for your buck!
What You Will Need To Make It
1/4 cup of each:
beeswax, shea butter, coconut oil (Use equal amounts of each to increase quantity as desired - be sure to increase essential oil quantity as well)
20 drops essential oil (optional - more or less as preferred)
suggested oils: grapefruit, sweet orange, peppermint, lavender, vanilla, chamomile
Prepare containers for quick pour once ingredients are completely melted.
Using either a double boiler or a sauce pot with bowl, add the beeswax, shea butter and coconut oil.
Melt over medium heat.
Once melted, remove from heat. If using essential oils, add them now and stir to combine.
Use a heat protector to hold the bowl and pour the mixture through the funnel into your awaiting containers.
Remember the liquid will set quickly so make sure to pour it right after removing from the heat.
Let the balm set at room temperature. It is ready to use once solid!
Tips
To speed the process up, you can place a piece of foil over the top of the bowl if using the saucepan and bowl method.
Prepare containers before melting process, and have heat protective gloves ready for use.
Use balm-style containers or chapstick tubes; always your preference! Using beeswax pellets makes the process easier.

Thank you for viewing! This has been one of my favorite batches of lip balm, but of course, you can substitute the coconut oil with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
A great recipe would be melting
1 Tb shaved or chopped beeswax
3 Tb oil (EVOO) or almond or grapeseed oil
1 tsp raw honey (optional)
Melt the beeswax with the oil, remove from heat, mix in the honey & add essential oils for fragrance if desired. Enjoy!

Hi, thank you for watching, & great question! Unrefined is better....it has a more vibrant color & scent as well as higher skin regenerating benefits. However, you can use either, but unrefined is overall the best choice.
Instead of coconut oil can I put almond oil?
Absolutely! All these high quality edible oils are worth trying out: sweet almond oil, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, hemp seed oil, or simular. You can always try adding more beeswax...that might create a stiffer balm. Typically, recipes call for 2 parts oil (coconut or other), one part beeswax, & one part shea butter. It's totally your preferred on how you'd like the texture of your balm. Hope you've enjoyed your new products!

How come my lip balm has really weird spots when it’s hardens?
Hi, and thank you for viewing our videos! The spotting may be due to the different ingredients separating and hardening with an inconsistent mix. Probably nothing you are doing, however you can research to see if you can get seemless colored balmed. Let me know what you find out! Blessings to you!

The key difference between white and yellow beeswax is that white beeswax turns into white color after going through a pressure-filtration process, whereas yellow beeswax comes in yellow color because it is a less processed or more natural state.

Beeswax takes longer to melt why not melt that's down first ?
