    Although many valid natural remedies exist, here's a lot of nonsense out there about natural remedies - for ADHD and just about every other ailment under the sun. In this video, I share some of the supplements for ADHD that we use in our family, and why the decision to medicate or not is an incredibly nuanced and personal one.

      I don’t generally share opinions on medicating versus not because I truly feel that the decision is intensely personal and varies from unique family to unique family. It’s important to consider your doctor’s recommendations, your own research, and you own family dynamic before making a decision. Good luck!

    I only recently found your channel and absolutely love you! You make such high quality and intelligent content. I don't know how you don't have a higher subscriber amount. Looking forward for more videos from this channel. I have a kid who I suspect has A.D.D. Homeschooling has been such a blessing to him because we can alter our day to suit him. I really think he would be medicated in a school setting. We use a lot of the same supplements minus the focus factor.

    My teen son has ADHD, and had a childhood trauma as well. Sometimes I find it hard to navigate through things. I find myself wondering if he's having a tough time because of his ADHD, past trauma or normal teenage angst. Without going into too much detail, my son went through a horrific trauma when he was little, and we've been in therapy for over 2 years now. We've been doing EMDR as one of our therapies. He also has insomnia, and at bedtime, I've been trying EMDR along with meditation, melatonin, oils in his room and a weighted blanket when needed. I don't have him on ADHD meds, and we've tried natural remedies in the past. I used to give him "attentive child" wafers before school, along with a children's fish oil. We didn't notice it helping at all. I thought maybe the placebo effect may help him in class. I was hopeful that having something he can physically touch or see would help him get back on track. I got him a silicone hologram bracelet. I told him it was his focusing bracelet, and that it may help him.
    As a teenager, things are getting tougher for him. I often worry about his future. I want him to succeed, be happy and healthy when he's grown. He's so creative, kind and funny! He has a lot to offer this world!
    Thank you for making this video! I'm going to try these things, and see if it helps. It can't hurt, and it would be wonderful if it helps him!

      Thank you so much for sharing your experiences - I think it helps everyone to realize that we’re not alone in trying to help our kids. That’s how I feel about some of the supplements as well - cautiously hopeful. Good luck!!🍀

    I do the same as you do, plus neurofeedback. I know, I know... I read some papers and there is nothing proving that it works. But, I really saw difference on my son's eye contact and attention in the first day he went through a session. Thanks for sharing your experience!

      I’d love to learn more about your experience if you don’t mind sharing. We play a lot of games and such that I hope stimulates the same type of growth/practice, but I am curious about neurofeedback. Yes, the research is dismal, but mom-to-mom feedback would be great. Would you mind emailing me at contactprojecthappyhome@gmail.com to share more? I’d so appreciate it.

    As a TCM practitioner and holistic nutritionist, there is not enough zinc and magnesium in a multivitamin to make any kind of significant difference in the body. Zinc and magnesium must be taken separately at higher doses than a multi to elicit results, especially for children with ADHD. Nervine tonics such as milky oats, passionflower, oatstraw etc, are amazing for children/people with ADHD. My son falls asleep quickly with these, instead of bedtimes taking 2 hours. It is important to understand a child's or person's constitution, from a chinese medicine perspective, as everyone is different and requires specific herbs, foods and flavours that match their constitution.

    • @ProjectHappyHome
      @ProjectHappyHome  Před 2 lety

      My recommendation would be to make sure you obtain a medical opinion and baseline levels to establish whether there are any actual deficiencies before starting any supplement.

    Same goes with Essential oils... a company can claim that there oil is %100 pure as long as there product has %5 of the pure essential oil and the rest will be synthetics or other cheaper oils.

    Hello Tanya, Good day! We would like to ask due to lack of budget, which to prioritize supplements or Re-vibe? Thanks!

    • @ProjectHappyHome
      @ProjectHappyHome  Před 6 lety

      It’s a good question. Honestly, I’d get supplements (multi and omega-3’s) on a regular basis, and try to craft my own version of RE-Vibe while saving up for it over time. By that I mean using a simple kitchen timer or maybe even a phone alarm/app placed near my child. Maybe setting a timer for myself and simply touching the child on the shoulder every few minutes as a reminder to focus without words. Good nutrition is of paramount importance. If you can remind your child to focus without judgment or frustration, based on an external timer, maybe that will do just as well for now in terms of the RE-Vibe. Hopefully it will become cheaper as word about it spreads. Good luck!
