    Edgar. Just came across this vid. I remember talking about your build on the owners group but bloody hell, didn’t realise you went this balls deep. Kudos to you brother keeping another one of these beauties alive 👌

    Just watched this as I have just started exactly the same project but don’t think I’ll get it to that standard. Incredible. Shame you’re not my next door neighbour

      Thank you! I honestly don't know squat. Only the second bike I've ever worked on. I know the video paints a tidy picture but there were many roadblocks and tests along the way. I just followed the manual and researched as I went along. All in all took a year and 4 months. Hopefully this will keep encouraging others!

    Bloody hell, nice job mate, looks new again, respect! Saw some oil and debries on the livingroomfloor, did the misses slap you in the face hahaha...... You have a 05/06 engine in a 03/04 frame, did you know?

      Thank you! I was living free those days haha. Married now. I believe all the 999 S models received the deep sump engines throughout the entire production period. The frame colours started with grey then went to red. She's still with me never gonna sell her ❤️

      @@edgarovsepian1067 I think you're right about the deep sump engines, I was confused about the non "S" engines. Have fun with your 999 (and wife 🙂)!

    My dad has his old Ducati 999. Years ago, some bloody thieves nicked anything that was worth anything on it but we still have the core bike. What should we do to rebuild the old legend?

    • @edgarovsepian1067
      @edgarovsepian1067  Před 2 měsíci

      That's a tough one to go through sorry. Look there's various ways you can approach a restoration - I got this bike running in $270, but the full restoration took me to $5000. So there's ways to cut that cake depending on how far you want to take it. You can email me at - edgar.ovsepian@hotmail.com, I can help you with a basic audit of what you'll need. Also, join the Ducati 999/749 owners group on FB and the Ducati.ms and .org forums. Always good to source from a pool of knowledge, some very knowledgeable guys there too. But email me first ;)

    Hi, i got a 2004 999 and has been parked for 15 years and was curious how long was yours parked for?

    • @edgarovsepian1067
      @edgarovsepian1067  Před 5 měsíci

      15 years! Do not attempt a start without a belt replacement. Check the tank and the complete fuel system, including lines, injectors and pump - old fuel loves to varnish and turn into gunk. Oil change and battery is mandatory, and check over the important parts of the starting circuit. Valve inspection would be helpful too. Watch out for rust on the chain and old tyres. I recall the previous owner parked it for 2-3 years and he got it off his friend who raced (abused) it.
