CSX AC44CW start up in Bostic Yard

  • Not much to see here, aside from CSX AC44CW 5114 starting up to work a yard local in Bostic Yard, and a different CSX local departing to serve customers with a GEVO ES44AC 808 and 11 cars. Bostic Yard is accessible from a public street, and I was there with permission. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome.

    I used to love to watch my dad do this and he retired from CSX as an engineer with 42 years of service brings back a lot of memories and he died 6 years ago today

    The air compressor "WHOOP" is my daughter's favorite sound with trains. She absolutely loves it.

    Gotta' love the sound of that GE 7FDL-16 chugging away! (Though, hearing the roar of an EMD 16-710G3B sounds better, IMHO!)

      I like them both equally. EMD's have their signature whine while GE's have that chugging sound.

    I live near there. I love hearing the trains go by at night. The railroad is maybe a mile from my house. A lot of them carry coal to the Duke energy plant in Cliffside

      but indonesian railway used a 8-cylinder version of 7FDL widely used for U18C and a custom widecab U20C,and sometimes they run like a toaster locomotive

    GEAC44CW Top speed limited until 75 mph, approved until 85 mph and current=reachable until 100 mph.

      @@CSXNick1003 Yeah, and 808 is an ES44AC. Turns out several units in the 700 series and 800 series were delivered without lightning bolts. About 95% of AC-traction units on CSX's roster have them.

    I really wish the Class 60's had the GE 7FDL16 instead of the shitty Mirrlees Blackstone MB275T8V as that would have kept most of them if not all of them active to this day.

      Isso pode ter sido apenas uma distorção de som da minha câmera quando eu diminuí o zoom. Caso contrário, não tenho certeza do que seria.

    okay, sick of half assed guessed at answers... this seems like a group that knows what they are talking about... at minute 1:16 I hear a "whooooooop" then a steady tone vibration... I live near a main rail that comes into Green Bay, and hear that sound a lot. Mostly on the out bounds as they start notching it up. Any SERIOUS help would be appreciated! Thank you!
