    Just popping in to say hi and Happy 4th! April 2024 graduate - down 37 pounds… about 10 lbs from goal weight. I just got back from a Colorado vacation with my family. I ebbed and flowed out of my 20/4 hour fasting/feasting, made memories with my family, enjoyed my life and weighed 2 lbs less when we got home. I didn’t stress over making memories with my family and ebbing and flowing. I got back on track when we returned home, but have my family with us at home this week, so there’s been a little ebbing and flowing again, but that’s the beauty of it when you just embrace it and make it your lifestyle-NOT a diet and not a short term quick fix- I just ate breakfast! I probably won’t eat again until maybe later this afternoon…if I’m hungry 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️, but I will get back on my 20/4 schedule tomorrow. It’s amazing! I feel so much better and don’t stress over food anymore. I feast well most days and it’s so easy. I also just had labs done and my glucose was down to 87 from 100 a year ago. My doctor also took me off of blood pressure medicine that she put me on last November and it’s been perfect since. If you have any doubts, just take the course. I am 57, postmenopausal and feel better than I have and weigh less than I have in the last five years. Thank you Dy Ann!! 🇨🇱💕🇨🇱

    Great video 👍 Personally, I eat keto in a 44:4 fasting routine works wonderfully for me. (44 hr fast, 4 hour feasting window). I easily adjust my eating schedule to accommodate my social life, I dine out on chicken or fish ( sometimes I even share a dessert with a friend😊😊😊) I’m female, 61 yo, have lost 75lbs in 8 months. I exercise daily, never been fitter.

      Congrats. I saw your post and thought I'll try your 44:4, my longest fast is 26 hrs, but I love the 20:4. I just finished my 44 hr fast. It went ok, I may slip it in here and there as it's a good reset. Kudos to you for doing that regularly, this 62yr old likes eating every day. That's the beauty of IF, make it your own. Isn't it great to feel so healthy at this age?

      NOPE!!!!!!! No need to! When you figure food out for yourself you no longer have to rely on someone else to tell you how you should be feeding yourself. That is the freedom part and tip #2: How well will I feast today??

    What can be used for breath freshness during fast?

    • @DyAnnParham
      @DyAnnParham  Před 7 dny

      Drinking cold water. Or minerals! Fresh breath is neutral! Bad breath is a bacteria issue. The more you fast and clean up your diet the less bad breath you will have. But breath in general is a neutral! Try water or a pinch of salt it will help a lot.

      1) did you eat enough in your feasting window?
      2) do you have drops in your glucose normally?
      3) did you hydrate?
      4) did you replenish with electrolytes?
      5) are you fat adapted?
      This is very safe when done properly!

      @DyAnnParham  Před 6 dny

      @@deanna4056 okay but you are asking something new of your body so your body is going to respond in a new way. What did your glucose drop to? Did you have ketones in your system? As in your body is producing ketones in the absence of carbs to make up for a lower glucose presence? Consuming a lot of nutritional fat when your body isn’t capable of producing ketones is just eating fat!!! Are you drinking 100-150 ounces of water a day with electrolytes?
      It isn’t what we are doing per se, but HOW we are doing it that causes us issues. Fasting is not a danger to most (few exceptions) people. It is uncomfortable at most! And will require your body to show up in a different way. This is why I teach a class. www.fortodaysagingwoman.com/find-out-more I teach you how to thrive in a fasted state.

      @@DyAnnParham tyvm for the reply. Glucose ranged 50-57 all day. I do not know ref ketones. I did the fast because my glucose was spiking to 300. I do not have any hunger so I will try again tomorrow for a week. I know remote advice is not easy, but at present to locate a good nutritionist or endocrinologist is quite difficult. I will insist my family doctor runs more comprehensive blood tests.

    • @DyAnnParham
      @DyAnnParham  Před 5 dny

      @@deanna4056 okay, so what is going on with you is very specific to you!! This is why I caution people about blanket warning statements about fasting. 300-50 glucose range should be discussed with your doctor! And there are things you can do with fasting to get that under control. Make sure you are doing those things as well. Keep us posted. ❤️

    I was told Menopause is after you haven't had a period in a year. And everything before is perimenopause. My Dr. Said there is no post Menopause it's just Menopause. Just curious she's the only one I know that says that.

    • @DyAnnParham
      @DyAnnParham  Před 7 dny +1

      It all depends on who you talk to. Technically Menopause is the 1 day you are 12 months with no cycle (consecutively). The rest is post menopause. I use the terms interchangeably!!
