LISTEN to this woman! Dy Ann is a magician. I’ve been fasting 20+ hours most days for 7 weeks, never missing a memory making moment! I am down 18 pounds and my BP was 124/74 and it has been very high for the last 6 years! I have never felt better at almost 54 yo. My husband has lost 20 pounds himself doing an 18/6 after seeing my results. Dy Ann we can’t wait to see how healthy we will be by next year! ❤❤❤❤

If you dont mind, how are you eating? Do you eat two meals in that 4 hours or do you just do one meal and a snack? I am trying to wrap my head around mostly the amount of what I should plan for.

It really depends. For the most part I’m just eating one meal a day, but that meal is literally anything I feel like eating, including a few cookies if I need something sweet. Some days I’ll have a meal replacement bar to break the fast and then finish dinner no later than 7pm. I will always start my day with black coffee and just water during the fast. I don’t drink any soda but I will drink teas, water or lemonade during the feast with my meal. 20/4 is so amazing. It’s the easiest thing I have ever done. It is so stressful to plan healthy meals and snacks and with 20/4 it is stress free and time and money saving! 2.5 months and going strong!

I found this video very helpful. I’m seeing a change in my body I haven’t seen in years. Thankyou this life style works for me. I been doing the 20 fast feast for 4 for 5 weeks now but at the beginning I didn’t follow completely it’s like taking the training wheels off your not completely sure how this new way of eating is going to affect your body. After two weeks I let go and then I began to see results. My feasting hasn’t been as clean as I usually like so no new weight loss. I want to get below 150. I haven’t seen that for 14 years. Here’s to getting where I want to be. Thank you for bringing this to us. I have something that works.

New here 😊Thank you, thank you. I like the “common sense” on this whole approach. Along with “listen to your body”, “if it doesn’t work, why continue to do it?”. So much I learned… growing up in church we’ve done fasting, but never really took the time to understand it fully. Now I know! Now I know why a certain family member, although went through a couple major surgeries due to an accident, has wowed the doctors. She asked for the smallest amount of meds needed, at the most ibuprofen… they honored her request… and to this day she is still pretty healthy despite what the accident caused and is adamant about fasting…
So thank you for shining a light for me, now the 20hrs does not seem to be the “hunger monster” I have to fight .. 😂
God bless you for the insight you provide ❤

I am still considered being in the perimenopause stage because I have not yet gone a full year without a period. It has been approximately 5 months since I last had a period. I never had a weight issue until I started into perimenopause. Then the weight just started packing on. It used to be if I ate healthy, any weight I had gained, I could easily lose. That is no longer the case. I have tried everything and cannot lose more than 3 pounds. Losing even 3 pounds is almost impossible. I went from 135 pounds to 187 pounds in a matter of approximately 5 years. My weight has been as high as 197 pounds. I almost qualified for gastric bypass surgery; however, I fell just short of the requirements. My BMI was something like 134 and my BMI needed to be more than 135 to qualify. I am not yet pre-diabetic, but I'm sure I'm headed that way. I do have high blood pressure. I'm at my wits end with all of this weight. I feel horrible majority of the time, I am super fatigued, struggle with breathing sometimes, and I can't sleep well. My doctor has run tests but can't find anything wrong. I believe it all is connected to my weight. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover any weight loss medications either. Your video about Intermittent fasting 20/4 has certainly piqued my interest and given me hope. I am going to give it a try. I am up to 189 pounds now, so what I have I got to lose. Thank you for giving me hope. You have such great information and knowledge on the topic. Thanks for sharing.

The best motivation to fast 6 days, is to go buy a pair of jeans, slacks, or a shirt that is just a bit too small for you to comfortably wear.
Your reward for fasting and eating OMAW (yes, one meal per week) is losing weight and being able to fit in that particular item of clothing. Weigh yourself every day and put on that clothing. The more you see that scale tip downward and that item of clothing get a little bit more comfortable to wear, the more you will want to remain disciplined. It really is mind over matter and being disciplined.
    You fast to FIT.

I have a couple of questions: 1. Should I mix up the fasting window or is it good to just stick with the 20:4 unless there's a special occasion? I'm asking because my friend who is doing IF tells me you have to "trick" your body with different schedules. 2. How much water do you recommend a typical person should drink on the 20:4 fast? What role does water play in helping your body heal during the fasting window? Again, thank you for your work!

Food should never be "enjoyable", tasty, etc. We make eating such a social part of our lives and that is the wrong approach. Food is a means to an end, and that purpose is to keep our bodies going. You eat simply the absolute bare minimum to keep going. Nothing more, nothing less.
We are so focused on eating to fill a void, to taste something, etc. Such a wrong approach. Eat once every 6 days (yes, DAYS) Eat 1-2 ounces of plain chicken breast, plain turkey, or fish. No carbs, no sugar, no alcohol, no dairy, no fruits, no veggies, no coffee. Water only.
Remember, you don't eat for the enjoyment, you eat to charge your body. Just like a job, you don't live to work, you work to live. It's a means to an end.

@DyAnnParham our ancestors in the nomadic/caveman era did not eat for tastebud satisfaction. That's one of our biggest issues. Watch people when they go out to eat. They overeat, overindulge, etc. Our society is all about food, food, food. Eating out, ordering takeout, delivery, etc. Holidays are all about, eat, eat.
Our cavemen ate only what they needed and when because they needed energy to move on to the next location/locate their next prey. That's what we should get back to.
