Super rad to have someone like you making KCD content still. Feels like this game never blew up as much as it should of
I love this game so I'll definately keep playing until KCD 2 comes out!
@@Griff_Gamingyessss!

I recently played KCD for the first time and it blew my mind! I somehow beat the main questline and a few tournaments before realizing I could learn master strikes. I went the whole play through thinking it was an npc-only move to make combat more difficult. Thanks for showing us the specific angles of attack, I knew there must be a method to the madness
Wow, impressive you actually finished a whole playthrough like that. Hopefully you playthrough again and you'll notice a huge difference
Not just you man, I'm playing for first time and Captain Bernard doesn't seem to be coming back for me to learn more from him.
Thanks Griff. Good tutorials. Although, I'll be trying not to cheese it
Your videos are top notch.
I see no reason why you shouldn't succeed on CZcams really.
You should get far more views.
Thank you!! Glad you're enjoying the content!
True that, pro quality, good pace and comedic value, keep doing it man
I watched a lot of videos on Kingdom Come Deliverance, but nowhere could I find an explanation of what the type of masterstroke depends on. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed!
You can do the same if you win a clinch where you kick him away instead of punching him. After you’ve kicked him you simply back away and he’ll start running towards you. I don’t know what the criteria is for winning a clinch, but if you’ve got the perk “clinch master” it’ll happen often enough
It's based on strength. Clinch master does help a lot but if your opponent has higher strength than you it's a toss up who wins
New to kcd, loving it, that clip of Henry's head on forrest gump running killed me lmao
Thanks for the vid
Hahaha thank you!! I was still pretty new to editing around that time and I think that 3 second sequence took me like 3 hours of editing to do and it never gets brought up!! Lmao
😂 Appreciate you dude
Just getting back into KCD after a few years hiatus. Never got used to the combat before but now I'm kicking ass! Thanks for the video 👍
That's awesome, I'm glad it helped!
I've noticed this, that they always attack when they reach you, but I never thought about using it for speed training. It's not my playstyle. I actually feel sad whenever I discover any kind of "exploit" in any game, and tend actively avoid them. 😅 But I see how useful it can be for some players. Keep it up man, your videos are great!
I try to avoid using it in regular engagements TBH but if you're just trying to grind up some skill (e.g. mace or axe to level 7 for combos, or sword to level 10 for combos) this becomes essential to not lose your mind lol
I hear you, new player here, I spent nearly 3 hours trying to beat these two bandits in early game, watched some videos and realised I needed to train, very nearly threw the towel in and said f this game haha, great game love it
I am so glad I found your channel, there's like almost nobody making exclusively Kingdom Come content. As a True Slav I am very happy about this.
As a 'Beer Bibber' myself with a 'Drinking Habit' I say, thank you for watching!
You are a genius! I never thought of that running technique! Much appreciated ❤
60 percent of the time, it works everytime lol
JESUS CHRIST BE PRAISED!
I feel quite hungry
You just earned my sub, quality content. I don't see many youtubers making KCD contents anymore nowadays.
Thank you!
Thanks to you, now I know how to consistently get the OP parry punish with the axe and mace!
Glad it helped!
CONGRATZ ON 1K SUBS!
Thank you!!
Great editing, extremely useful and funny. Subbed.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
I played this game shortly after release and just started it for a second playthrough and when fighting Kunesh I lost the fist fight. The game told me to go to mother to get patched up but instead I started a new fight and Kunesh dropped to the floor like a rag doll. It looked like he was dead but I assumed he must be unconscious since my strength was still at level 1 and he will give me another quest later. I eventually made it to Rattay where I know I will see Kunesh again, but he is not nowhere to be seen. It seems you can kill someone in a fist fight even at level 1 which was a big surprise to me. But I like this video, great tip and I'm going to try it. Thanks for sharing.
So I think he's just hidden. There's a secret to this game. There's 2 Kuneshes. The one in Skalitz is essential and can't die. The Kunesh in Rattay is coded as a completely different NPC. Watched a video with a floating camera mod they went to Rattay during the Skalitz raid and Kunesh was already there before the other refugees
@@Griff_Gaming I see what you mean, makes sense from a dev point of view I guess. But the game seems to assume that the Kunesh character is dead because he is not standing across the street from where Jane and the armorer later argue when I'm on patrol with Nightingale. He was supposed to tell me about the treasure under the dovecoat but it seems I really killed the one in Skalitz with my bare fists at level 1. So the one in Rattay does not show up either, very strange. Thanks for responding.
He can move around throughout Rattay, I've seen him by the butcher shop, in the refugee camp, and across from the weaponsmith. Honestly like how the NPCs have their daily routine and aren't always in exactly the same spot but it has caused some frustration before looking for specific ones, love hate relationship for sure!
@@Griff_Gaming Maybe you are right. Haven't seen him yet but if I do I will let you know here. Thanks!
@@Griff_Gaming You were right, I found Kunesh at last. About 3 in game weeks and there he suddenly was, at the northern gate. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks!
I have hundreds of hours in this game and only recently started thinking of the combat as its own rythm game, which helped me a lot in all combat encounters, it does feel a lot like dancing now, so I hope this helps some other people who are struggling with the combat mechanics.
That's the hope! For anyone avoiding the game that thinks it's too hard, it really isn't when you get a hang of it and you realize you have to go back to learn more from Captain Bernard without a quest marker telling you to do so
Love the KCD content!
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it!
I took a break from KCD just because I didn't have much time for gaming and I've gone back to it quite far into the game and now I absolutely suck at combat 💀💀💀 I can't remember how to do anything and keep getting wrecked by everyone so thanks for this video, it will help me take down the gang of 10 Cumans i'm currently getting smoked by 😅
I'm glad this helped! Good luck killing those Cuman whoresons!
This is definately an unforgiving game, whether it's the combat or archery, but so rewarding when you get it right because you feel you earned it! Even with as many hours as I have in the game now, I still get that giddy feeling hitting a headshot kill with a bow just because it's not a guaruntee. Makes it feel special
Great tips! Gonna use these
Glad you found it useful!
Great video again! Congrats
Thank you!
Great vid man very helpful
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
Best KCD content I've been able to find!

Amazing video.
All I needed to sub. With KCD vids like this helping people become better players. Well deserved
Thank you!
@@Griff_Gaming tried that defense move in the tourney. Failed miserably. Although havent really worked on my swords and axes as much as mace. Clobbered my opponent with the mace tho
@HurriShane00 takes a few tries to get timing down for sure and maces in the tourney are always more potent against the armored opponents. Happy you got the win!!
Great video man
Thank you!
Amazing content!
Thank you!
Good guide; some useful tips in leveling defense faster.
You can level up most skills rather high without seeing Bernard. Except defense. If you haven't seen Bernard, your defense stats will be pretty much zero until you do. (I usually do as many of the side quests as possible before seeing Radzig in Rattay, and my stats are usually around 10-ish by then, but defense is always still zero until I see Bernard.)
I usually like to level to about 6 or 7 before going on the hunt with Capon. I get there quick just to get the initial horse. Then go side quest crazy!
The best tutorial as usual!
Thank you!
Thank you ! Subbed
Thanks for the support!

very useful info, good to know that the white crosshair is the combo timer, I saw that a wile ago and was confused.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
i just got back into kcd and found your channel looking for tips. your editing and production quality is super good, im surprised you dont have more subs
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
I'm working on it! I had never tried editting till about 3 months ago so it's still very much a new process for me but it's come a long way!

You’re the man!!!!

Wow it worked really well. 🎉
Awesome! Glad it helped!
Randomly tapping space when fighting multiple enemies is the best way to destroy big groups by yourself
Very true! Best offense is a good defense!
@@Griff_Gaming I kind of hate master-strike though. It's way too cheap and makes combat too easy. Even with 0 defence and no running exploit you can take down veteran knights with practice
I wish the Devs made master-strike require a small combo sequence after a perfect block. Like: Step 1, perfect block. Step 2, attack the correct section to initiate parry. Step 3, another attack on a different section to exploit the opening.
@@BaconHer0 would be cool to see a sequence like that, to where it's not just a button press but takes careful timing and percision!
@@Griff_Gaming Hopefully in KCD 2
If I remember correctly master strike comes way after learning to riposte. The game screws up the descriptions of MS and riposte. An MS is WAY more effective than the riposte but very rare to pull off and just about useless in the tourney. Remember folks a master strike is NOT a riposte.
Not way after. You learn how to riposte, compete with Hans capon in swordfighting, and talk to the Bailiff. You have the option to learn the master strike immediately after. Master strikes are their own animation with a single button press to block and attack at the same time. The riposte is when you perform a Perfect Block and immediately input an attack (2 seperate button presses). The higher your defense skill the easier it is to pull off either of these moves and master strikes become almost the default animation when your defense stats get to about 10 because the parry windows for them are so big
Thank you for that explanation @Griff_Gaming this was the thing I was not understanding, awesome.
I mastered Combat now, completed rattay tourney with no problem twice, but now I'm stuck at archery/hunting.🙄
Still an amazing game though completely addicted👌👌👌
Fastest way for archery initially is through Vatzek in Ledetchko. Complete his log challenge a few times (each time you win is 43 xp towards bow), getting at least 16 logs in one contest gets you a training session with Vatzek for about 140 bow XP. After getting at least level 5 from that, there's a boar hunting spot not far from there to level up bow xp faster by killing the boar. Then you can level hunting, vitality, strength, agility, and bow all at once
@@Griff_Gaming Thanks 😀😀 was going to search for your video about archery anyways thanks again
Haha don't have any guides on archery but maybe I'll work on one. There's several ways to do it but I have a favorite so that could be good!
@@Griff_Gaming Plz do make if you can, your videos have been a great help, whole game took me by surprise 😂thought of playing blind but hunting mission almost broke me but I won the wager with Capon 🤣
Idk how i feel about showing newer players how to cheese enemies, took me a long time to figure this out on my own. Not hating just think it may break immersion of combat
That's fair. The thing I would say is most encounters are more than one enemy (ambushes, bandit camps, etc) so this strat isn't as viable. It more applies on how to power level defense and weapon skills so they spend an hour with Bernard as opposed to 4 hours getting the same xp. As I said, I don't think that should be your primary method of combat, rather a tool to sometimes help speed the pace of an encounter
@@Griff_Gaming that is a great point about the training with bernard, enemies in general and in the arena can sometimes take forever to attack in order to counter them.
My dumbass didn't do the training quest to learn how to properly block and perry until like 20 hours into the game. I was like "how tf am I supposed to fight 3 different dudes at once?!?!"
Haha it's not really told to you so easy mistake to make. Makes a big difference though!
Having still not played the game and watched a few of your excellent vids, I feel I'll be OP as fook 😂
This gane has a surprising number of ways to humble you lol especially on hardcore mode with all the negative perks. First playthrough, I recommend playing normal mode at least till you get used to the map, then swap to hardcore mode for a new playthrough. It's subtle changes but add up to make a big difference and makes the game so much more engaging
@@Griff_Gaming I'm currently 93% thru my 2nd RDR2 playthrough and wanna play KCD before the 2nd comes out. Also have AC Valhalla to play. So many games!
@ExpectedBoy new assasin creed game and kcd 2 this year. And gta6 next year? Great time to be a gamer!
Looking forward to kcd2
Same here!
@@Griff_Gaming hope it comes out this year or 2024, most likely 2024
@@Temerio well let's wait for an official announcement first, instead of finger crossing and remembering one of the original cast accidentally leaking his involvement with the project
I agree. While I have no doubt they are working on it, I'm unsure about the timeline of when we can actually expect it
I was your 507th subscriber, making this comment to remember when you blow up
Thank you!
@@Griff_Gaming also you need to start streaming 🫡
I've actually been considering this! So I have a challenge run that I completed and am currently editting down but I have several more in mind that I plan to stream!
I'm curious- do you know if you can plant dice on a townsmen and they'll use it in farkle? I've been mugging all the townsmen that have Dice and just had this thought. Wish i haven't sold all the even dice I've found. Could be cool to give them the worst dice for easy competition, if it works
In theory you can but it's a bit unpolished. You'd have to knock them out, go in their inventory, take their dice, give them yours and hope they use them. I'm not sure if their AI is programmed to auto use any special dice in their inventory or if they actually pick and choose the best ones
@@Griff_Gaming well I know I'd you put clothes and armor in their inventory they never equip it. Same if you replace their chested items while they're asleep. So I don't have high hopes but maybe they check for dice before each game? Probably not. They always have the same dice as their loot so it probably won't work
I've seen some use weapons I've placed in inventory tho. Try it on the ledetchko player or the gambler in Sasau. They have to play dice so if they use them, the in theory any npc can
I really like KCD, but at the same time I think what you showed here is one of the main problems of this game's combat.
Any highish level enemy will Master Strike you if you go on the offense, and once you realise how effective and easy master strikes are, the whole combat system falls apart as most encounter devolve into a waiting game where you wait for the NPC to attack.
This should have been a player restricted mechanic, its no fun to play against, and really bogs down the flow of the combat.
Honestly I do agree. Even though I know the mechanic I try to avoid using it outside of level grinding because it really does become a game of not attacking and just waiting to tap a button to counter.....Hopefully something that will be fixed in the next one 🤞
Woooooo
You could prevom master Straic Without Running after making a combo and go backwards
i dont get how you do those masterstrikes, doesnt seem to do anything i try to stab or slash bernard. he just blocks it and i run out of stamina every time, so how do you do it?
The masterstrikes are defensive so it's just timing his blows. The higher your defense skill the longer the window is for getting it is. It sounds like you are having trouble with the combos if you are running out of stamina. First make sure you have the combo out of your perks tree learned. The higher your weapon skill is the faster the combo comes off and the less likely he is to block. If you want a good way to practice getting combos off, select learn combos with Bernard but DON'T do the combo he tries to teach you, do the other combos you know since he doesn't block in this training mode. Check this vid out if you want a little more clarity on it. Let me know if this helps!

@@Griff_Gaming welp, after 50 or so more hours (and a mod to make combat easier...) I finally get it! I think i actually get the gist of it right now after training for four hours with Cap. Bernard and I can beat him too. now off train some more for the axe and mace skill and then off to the tourney. Its a lot easier and enjoyable right now!
Is there gonna be a kcd2? Does anyone here know anything. I'm new to the game and already in love
Yes we just really don’t know when however we do know it’s going to have a bigger budget tho😊
We know Warhorse is working on a big project, ALMOST confirmed its KCD 2 (casting and research department seen throughout historic sites taking notes) but we don't know when.
I’m gonna say it again, I think he just might get 500 subscribers….
And I say again to you, kind sir, maybe....just maybe 🤣
Could you a a monastery guide? When enrolled of course
What are you having trouble with?
@@Griff_Gaming Not much. Just figure that there was stuff I missed on last run
For sure, I have something coming up in the near future that should help with that!
I still have such a hard time with combat. How long should this take?
How long should training the defense skill take? Or getting comfortable with the timing of when to block?
I am just not very good with the timing yet plus I am not a very good gamer at the controls
It takes some getting used to for sure. I would say try to look for cues an attack is coming. Most of the NPCs will say a comment or have tells they strike. Once you can key in on a few of those, the familiarity will come. Another good way to practice by competing in the Rattay Tourney. Starts with a "low level" opponent and progresses up. If you get hurt, no worries because it will heal you. Plus build combat XP while you do it so it's a win win
Your videos are awesome and I am working on your tips
Thanks! You'll get there. It's certainly can be a hard game to come to terms with but once you get some of the mechanics behind it, it becomes a lot more enjoyable!
2:47 wait how do you lock on?
What system are you on?
S
I just hope we don't have master strikes and clinch work the same way in KCD2. It kind of breaks the game. Playing hardcore with Better Combat and Immersion Compilation mod and NoSloMo am at Vranik now, won tourney multiple times, am on the interlopers and done a few side quests. Only managed to get master strike like 10 times and received probably only that much. NPCs master strike you only if you make a mistake attacking the side their weapon is on. Duels are so much more fun without the two broken mechanics. You have to focus on stamina, perfect blocks with ripostes, stagger and combos instead of just landing a master strike.
I think they have said they reworked pacing of Combat and in the new one they are rewarding a more aggressive playstyle as opposed to defensive in KCD. I def run with nomoslomo (prob the best mod there is) but any other combat mods I experienced a lot of crashes when I tried, especially at the big battles (pribyslavtiz in particular) so I don't run with them anymore. Most of the challenge runs I do are livestreams so I prioritize stability because multiple crashes don't make for compelling viewing. I would like master strikes to be replaced with something other than a single button press though. I want the option but it should be harder to pull off
