Massive Mavs and Luka fan, but I was thinking JT will probably win more chips too. JT has the ability and gamestyle to be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd option on a championship team whereas Luka is most like only winning as a 1st option (outside of maybe a late career win). It's like comparing Steph and LeBron, it's just way easier to win when you can comfortably slot literally any player and their gamestyle in along side Steph, compared to LeBron who's playstyle is a little more specific, even though they both currently have 4.
I get what you're trying to say but it's unfair to luka as we have never seen him play with a team the quality of tatums
People mention him playing with porzingis and jb who are "all star level talents", but KP was injured most of the time in Dallas and when luka played with JB they literally got to the WCF
We saw tatum play with an all star level player, 2 dpoy level players, a coty contender, and a deep team and he flamed out having one of the worst star performances in that year besides trae and maybe kd
I believe luka would EASILY win a ring if he had that level of a supporting cast

@@CamWick you explained it in the best possible way, no doubt Luka’s team isnt as well rounded as the celtics, but he has had quality second options in Jalen Brunson, Porzingis, and now Kyrie, he is just a difficult player to build around in comparison to Tatum. This is mainly due to his heliocentric playstyle, you have to find the perfect pieces to compliment him and make up for his detriment on defense most of the time, which is hard because of the lack of quality 3 & D players in this league. Tatum is a more well rounded player in totality which allows him to slot into roles and make teams better

I don’t get how people think luka is way ahead of Tatum. That’s such a casual take. Tatum is a winning player. He is a winner that has played the most out of all the stars since 2018. He is just a better 5 on 5 fit with anyone
Jason .. he seems to be 'aware' of what it takes to get to that level of great. He seems to have that humble confidence needed to be a great. Ja is the one that might have said "me, I'm the best player".. he seems to be lost in the ESPN highlights and all.. spida and Luka are still not there. JT and JB is the duo I expect to carry the game. Their run to the finals was just full of grace, awareness, and humble confidence

i'm a nuggets fan, but when ya think about the context - giannis shouldn't be given the mvp. jokic is a CENTER averaging a triple double and is 3rd in the league in assist per game. you said "it's giannis man, it's like we're accustomed to him doing what he's doing" - people made the same case for lebron and his last mvp was a decade ago. giannis will be a 4 or 5 time mvp, but i don't think he edges jokic this season

I agree. I can only say this because as a Bucks fan Tatum some nights isn't even their top option. One game it can be him, another it can be Brown, or even Derrick White as of late. Boston just has a very deep team and those are the most dangerous come playoff time. I can't wait for a possible rematch in the ECF. It should be another 7 game classic that could go either way.
