- This entry in the Silent Hill franchise actively set up possible sequels. During the final scene, Heather and Vincent leave Silent Hill, and the truck driver who picks them up is named Travis Grady. Travis is actually the main character from the Silent Hill: Origins prequel game. There is also the part where the bus with two police cars escorting it go by, and this is a nod to the Silent Hill: Downpour game. Since this film was a flop, both of these sequels were scrapped, and any hope of a sequel was abandoned until 2022. This film does continue the tradition of using metal pipes as a weapon since Heather grabs one to confront Douglas at the shopping mall.

honestly i wanted a silent hill movie where the story continues from the second movie
It kinda did continued in from the 1st movie but in a weird way, but I think the 3rd one will be the Cherry on top

I hope not. It retconned the entire first movie (Which was a masterpiece) just to support its fractured plot. Can you even call it a sequel at that point? The original movie was robbed of a good sequel and the new one will likely have nothing to do with the first two because of that.

I think hbo would give it a proper game adaptation storyline to it. If it’s a tv series I hope cuz a movie won’t be any good! I want to see silent hill explored and not have to wait 3-5 years for a sequel movie

Silent Hill is like an ever changing maze, not everyone have the same version of Silent Hill when entered & that's why it is a scary place to be
Not everyone even has visions/hallucinations when they enter the town. At least....in the games. The movies went in a completely different direction with lore.

You forgot to mention how Heather's dad (Christopher Da Silva who became Harry Mason here) set out to find Rose and stayed in Silent Hill, also setting up the fact that he'd be James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2. Which would have been interesting since the director hired Sean Bean since he resembled the character.

@@nottechytutorials how is it obvious? In Silent Hill 2 James is looking for his dead wife who died 3 years prior and nothing to do with a cult. If Revelations got a sequel, it would have featured Christopher looking for his wife and adopted daughter in Silent Hill from a cult. Two completely different stories. Now since you did mention it was obvious, I must ask, do you have any proof or article leading to your assumption? You know, since you mentioned it is obvious.
@@StrawHatGuy_ You're being difficult for absolutely no reason. The ending of Revelations sets up multiple possible sequels. You want an exact premise and continuity for Silent Hill 2, even tho the movies did not do the same for Silent Hill 1 and 3. I thought it was a pretty obvious nod to Silent Hill 2 since its about a husband searching for his missing wife. The twist could be different, idk, other movies did the same like Tale of Two Sisters. You could just say no its not, just make up an original story for what happens after then.

When I first seen this film, I was expecting to see a certain death, as we all were expecting to see him die.
We all expected to see Sean Bean die, but since he doesn’t die, but instead disappears forever into Silent Hill to go find Rose. We all were glad Sean Bean does not die, but go to live on in other world.
Here's a creepy little tidbit of information:
The "dead" fish in the movie Heather sees in the fish tanks at the amusement park are actual living fish (or at least they were during filming), the liquid they're in is formaldehyde which acts as a preservative that suspends them in that state of looking dead but without decay.
This movie was an ABOMINATION.
It was actually almost fully loyal to the game. It just needed a higher caliber director, and it would be a fantastic video game movie.
A bigger budget (closer to the first movie) would have definitely also helped...
I felt for Adelaide Clemens. She was doing her absolute best with the material, but it was just generally sub-par.

The first movie was a masterpiece. It stood on its own and it had its own lore separate from the games. The director of the second movie butchered that lore to make it more like the games.

I think its because it didn't have the same feel as the first movie or game, personally it seemed too saturated and not as blurry or faded like the first film which in my opinion made it more creepy, and there wasn't as much monsters in this movie, sis didn't even get to shoot that flesh light looking monster I'm surprised the dad even survived cuz he died in the game lol

Probably because when I went to see it opening weekend in theaters it was literally just me and my friend in the entire theater... Same can be said about that new resident evil movie that they just released a year or two ago.. literally only four people in the theater... Only reason I thought it flopped.

I loved that the first movie was its own canon. And this movie had to retcon the entire first movie for it to “make sense” and it still made no sense. Can you even call it a sequel at that point?

This movie forgets its own continuity by adding in elements from silent Hill 3 which don't make sense if you're going by the continuity of the first film.

I had actually love the this Silent Hill movie. It had alot of psychological horror effects that felt just liked Silent Hill 3 for myself and my son. It was different yet very similar to Silent Hill 3 game for us in good entertaining way. It had most definitely hit all the good horror gritty darkness thrill feels. I did love ending with different potential future movie storylines to go down including Rose and Christopher storyline route if they are able to excape and to leave Silent Hill by them reuniting with their daughter once more through adding their own Silent Hill adventure of meeting others in Silent Hill throughout others' Silent Hill storylines within future movies. It would be like semi second movie carryover storylines within these future Silent Hill movies that helps Rose and Christopher get free from Silent Hill awhile they help guilding others from Silent Hill for good. ❤

About the 2nd movie, it's fine as a SH b-movie direct to video, but as a sequel to the other movie, and being released in theater, it's bad.
It kinda ruined the legacy of the first movie, tbh. First one was a masterpiece even if purists complain about them changing the lore up.

Nothing enraged me more than this movie. It was embarrassingly bad and i had such high hopes for it and was willing to give it a chance but like a toxic ex it let me down in every way.

I'm happy we have Chris Gans back to adapt Silent Hill 2. While his first movie had deviation from the source material, the atmosphere and tone were spot on. I consider the first Silent Hill movie the best live action adaptation of a video game for film.

I loved the first 1. But i couldnt watch this one. The entire movie just felt like B/C grade. Very disappointing really as the game was fantastic. Shame it didnt get a better director. Imagine the likes of Christopher Nolan, James Cameron directing this movie. It would be amazing!! Wont be watching the 3 part unless the director has changed
