You cant really compare this two MREs both have different purpose. American MRE is ment for >morale boostperformance< main focus is calories >4790 calories vs ~1300 calories(USA) that Pashtet(Pâté) is the most vital food in russian MRE because it contains 52% of daily need Cobalamin(b12) and 30% Iron thats essential for building red bloodcells in case of a wound or high oxygen demanding activities.
When my grandmother was a little girl, she had a great grandfather who used to tell her about his experience in the US Civil War. He said the food always contained maggots. If you could eat it without without throwing up, then it was OK. Be grateful for MREs
Hello Daniel. Interesting video. I remembered how I served in the navy and they prepared a signature dish of Russian sailors. This dish is called "makarony po flotsky" - naval pasta. I served in the Navy in 1993. This is still my favorite dish. We didn't have MRE - (sukhpayok on russian - dry rations) , but we had a lot of canned meat and fish. Canned meat is known as "tushenka" - stew.

Писал уже под предыдущим видео. Сравнивать стоит сравнимое. Ближе к американскому МРЕ стоит наш ИРП-Б за минусом "пищевых привычек" в нашем тупо больше калорий и не в виде "быстрых углеводов" как в американском а в виде полноценного белка и жиров. С учётом климата. Приходилось пробовать МРЕ но сугубое ИМХО питаться им больше пары дней невозможно... На нашем хоть и без особого удовольствия можно долго просидеть. (опять же возможно это разница в пищевых привычках.) Беспламенный разогреватель в холодном климате почти бесполезен. Хотя безусловно удобен когда нет возможности остановиться. Поэтому в наших ИРП-Б и беспламенник кладут и таганок... Ну и так просто для напоминания... Мы из Афганистана хотя бы с развёрнутыми знамёнами уходили ...
If you're in for trying MREs from more places, you could try out Swedish as well, i'm not sure if they're still the same as the ones i've tried, but they used to be very very good, to the point where they were fairly popular to buy from "Överskottsbolaget" ie "Military surplus company" which made military stuff cheaper by selling it cheaply to civillian market, enlarging the total production. Available both as 24h packs, ie for a full day like the Russian ones, or as individual meals(breakfast, lunch, dinner, extras, snacks), with some very varied foods(you could literally do a restaurant menu out of them). In regards to comparing the Russian and US MREs, i give the Russian one a small win. Why? Because the menu is designed primarily to make sure there's all you need from it, without the massive amount of additives the US ones use to make up for the lack of natural ones. The Swedish ones are in between in that regard, so less chemicals than the US ones, but more than the Russian, also, they also have a whole bundle of different snacks, a halfdozen per 24h pack or something like that. They're also a bit too much on the "pampering" side of things same as the US ones, slightly better but not much, rather than focusing on the NEEDED like the Russian. Oh, and 555 i guess...

Hello Daniel. You probably gonna not like Шпик (salted pork fat). It should be in the same can as a cheese, so be careful. Шпик (salted pork fat) is traditional slavic addition to main course (mostly soups) you eat with bread, but i saw a lot of foreigners not liking it. And yeah Liver pâté (паштет) is not a loved much too. If you wanna do more videos about Russian MRE you should order some more. There are a lot of variations of them (mre for offcires, mre for special forces and etc). All main courses mostly based on Tushonka (canned stewed beef) because it the most popular type of canned food in Russia. Its Tushonka with rice, potato, macaronies, buckwheats, pearlbarley and sometimes there is just a can of Tushonka. When you get the can of just meat you can actually make a proper meal. Its mostly for low intencity war zones. You fry onion, then add the meat from the can, maybe salt and pepper and then you just mix it with the boiled rice/potato/macaronies. Add ketchup or mayo or both and here you go. So from 1 can of Tushonka you can make a whole pot of food for a couple days. Or you can make a soup based on Tushonka. Just boil Tushonka meat with some onion, carrots and potatos. Tushonka is the main component of the Russian military field kitchen. So if you dont like Tushonka, then dont order more russian mres

Based on the experience of the actual use of the “CFW” system during World War 2, it is concluded that the standard method of heating food over a fire (dry fuel) and “CFW” are not mutually exclusive, but complement and are used in parallel based on the developing tactical situation, climate and combat mission. Не скажу ничего о нынешних сухпаях - не пробовал и ни аппетита и желания особого не имею - стойкая любовь к сухому пайку сухопутных войск СССР. С большим удовольствием, когда служил в СА, буквально ОБЖИРАЛИСЬ советскими сухпаями: тушенками разными, даже галетами безвкусными, предпочитая их приему пищи в солдатской столовой - вот такой парадокс!...Сухпайки у нас были разные по содержанию - у сухвойск одни, у летунов, у вдв и морпехов с горнострелками другие и т.п. Но тушенка до сих пор помнится. Пробовал американский сухпай, вернее, "суп танкиста"...Да, вещь безусловно калорийна, но безвкусна и выйдя на гражданку ты вряд ли захочешь "заместить" ею обычный прием пищи. А вот тушеночкой и солдаты бывшие и морячки... непременно и с удовольствием ее выложат на "дастархан" где-нить на рыбалке, по закусь. А попробуйте закусить водку чем-нибудь из ИРПа морпеха США...))))))))
Возможно не последний человек, если ты понимаешь о чём я. Но я надеюсь такого никогда не будет, нужно прекращать уже все эти войны. Толстосумы сражаются за ресурсы и влияние, а гибнут простые люди, ни за что.

I must have a cast iron stomach because I haven't found a US MRE I couldn't eat. I've tried a couple Russian versions of their MRE's that rely the on potted meats with high fat content which gives you more calories for colder temps. The vapors coming out of the US heater pouch is hydrogen gas which is highly flammable and can blow the roof off your tent so you don't want to heat your food up with 4 or 5 buddies in a really confined space! Oh yeah when you go back to Russia could ya take Joe Biden with ya..heck I'll pay for the airfare 🤣😂🤣😂. Best of luck Trooper!! Salute!!
I think if you can have water in -20c you can warm it up for sure. But I understand Russias got both water heater and flame. to be honest most wars are fought outside Russia and America in warm countries 😅
Дэниел, ну, давай объективно. Хороший сухпай - это тот которым ты умеешь и привык пользоваться. Русский ты использовал совсем не правильно. Поэтому многого не понял и не оценил. По поводу химической грелки. Такое себе удовольствие. 1. Вся еда получается просто вареная, поджарить на ней ты ничего не сможешь даже маршмеллоу 2. Твой разогретый пакет нельзя быстро выключить и он будет самым ярким пятном в тепловизоре беспилотника или снайпера. 3. Для твоей грелки нужна вода, много или мало не важно тебе придется тащить ее на себе, а потом ты просто ее выбросишь. Про вкус ничего говорить не буду любой паек - это просто набор калорий, которые нужны тебе для работы. Пара блюд в нем вкусные остальные чтоб не сдохнуть от голода. Про упаковку, американскую ты просто выбросил и все, а у русской есть масса нетрадиционных вариантов применения, которые бывают крайне полезны в полевых условиях. Общая концепция русского пайка - это полностью автономный солдат, на значительное время, в любых условиях на Земле и немножко в ближнем космосе.))) Американский паек - это сумбурный перекус для того, чтобы добежать до ближайшей солдатской столовой, где ждет охлажденная Кока-кола, пиво и девочки с низкой социальной ответственностью)))
Is fatty food beneficial in a cold because it has lower freezing point as well? Never tried it seen it and just wonder if you would be able to eat some of the items even in freezing temperatures without heating it 🤔
@@WwarpfirewW fat, lard does give you more calories and takes time for your body to digest it. This longer digestion time make your body work to digest the fat so you feel warmer on a long cold night outdoors. Yes warming or cooking it like a slab of bacon cut in strips make it more tasty but you can also eat it cold or you just keep it inside your jacket close to your body so it doesn't freeze solid if you can't have a fire.

В нашем сухпай так же предусмотрены химические нагреватели. По приказу 888 они комплектуются если консервы в мягких упаковках. Плюс так же в полевых условиях, на учениях, в зоне боевых действий и проч дополнительно выдаётся 1.5 литра бутилированной воду. Это так же по этому приказу.
Я пробовал Малогабаритный Рацион Питания РФ и мне его хватило на 2 недели Отличная Еда! Два супа сварил и Макароны по Флотски сделал! (у меня Был паек весом 1,47 кг) а Второй (2,1 кг) я ещё не открывал (пока что)

Hey, greetings from sunny Kazakhstan, we are not far from the border of Russia and China, and I am glad to accidentally stumble upon your video, after which I subscribed. I don't think I'll get a detailed answer from you, or just an answer, but I'll express my opinion. I've tried rations from different countries, and each has its own characteristics, depending on the type of cuisine and the type of warfare, which actually plays a crucial role. Russian MPEs have dozens of variations, for individual needs, there are rations for landfills, there are rations for combat special forces, there are rations for special services, there are Arctic rations, and even there are rations for prison guards. Most importantly, it is advisable to compare similar soldering, according to the content, so that the video is objective. In Russian rations, everything is focused on ensuring that the soldier receives the maximum amount of energy, with a minimum amount. The main issue is survival, not the desire to please tastes. Since these rations are often used in very harsh conditions, then they have such an approach to filling. In cold climates, the body requires high energy consumption, which is compensated by increased calorie content. The rations also provide that the soldier can be torn away from the field kitchen, and for this they are given disinfectant tablets to sterilize the water. Which gives greater autonomy, vitamin and multivitamin complexes are also often placed in rations to maintain the health of a fighter, and I have never seen such a thing in the American MP. As for the heating system, we also have chemical heaters, but at very low temperatures, let's say -30 or even higher. The other day we had -42, no chemical heater works, it's banal, the water will just freeze, and the chemical reaction will not work, and if it does, it will be very weak, tested on personal experience. Russian rations are designed to eat during parking, during combat there can be no food, otherwise the soldier is less concentrated, and is distracted from the task, which means reduces the effectiveness of the unit. We often used snickers-type chocolate bars on the go, if we really wanted to eat and urgently needed energy. But you have to understand that when I’m doing an opening for the very first time of a Russian MRI as a veteran of a war in a hot place. Of course, my bias will take over. I have no idea what current US MREs taste like, but in the 90s we did receive some as humanitarian aid from the US (in our region they were distribited to families with 4+ children). As kids, we really loved the powder "juice" packets. Two flavors - "grape" and "cherry", either one permanently stained china, porcelain and anything you accidentally spilled them on. We were also a bit baffled by sun block creme - first off, it was not a thing in Russia back then, and second, it had a warning sign "for black skin only" or something like that. Same with foull-smelling hair removal creme. Those were from Desert Storm, i think, about to expire..still loved them.

Okay, very important to keep in mind. This is Russian MRE - P variant. Comparing it to US MRE, then you have take three MREs of different meals. Russian MRE - P is designed for 24 hour consumption (Break, Lunch, and Dinner). US MRE obviously is one time consumed meal, with whatever left to graze on. Also, you can scrunch up MREs if you'll take them out of the containers. I always rat fucked mine and mixed them up into "The Ranger Meals" like the all famous Ranger Pudding. The only reason why 3 MREs are larger is due to that bulky container, but if you'll take them out, the meals actually stack in whatever container possible better than Russian IRP-P. Most of all I like how many different meals are available in MRE. Russian ones, at least in my time only had 11 different meals. US already had 25 different ones. The biggest advantage though of Russian MRE is the fact, they do not give you as much of constipation as MRE does. - You will not be shitting bricks after week or two worth of eating them in comparison to US MRE.
Daniel, I am not a soldier so I view your vid with common sense. The Russian MRE is more complete with heater system and three meals. The drink with cancer taste is maybe overdosed vitamines and medicine. Your trip into the wilderness snake mountain can explain how dangerous battlefield is. You are a good vlogger ! Я пробовал пйки разных стран, и у каждого свои особенности, в зависимости от типа кухни, и типа ведения боевых действий, что на самом деле играет решающую роль. У Российских мре есть десятки вариаций, под отдельные нужды, есть пайки для полигонов, есть пайки для боевых спецподразделений, есть пайки для специальных служб, есть арктические пайки, и даже есть пайки для тюремной охраны. Что самое важное, желательно сравнивать похожие пайки, по наполнению, чтоюы видео было объективным. В российских пайках все заточено на то, чтобы солдат получил максимальный запас энергии, при минимальном объёме. Во главу ставится вопрос выживаемости, а не желания угодить вкусам. По тому как этий пайки часто используются в весьма суровых условиях, то и подход к намолнению у них такой. В холодном климате, организм требует больших энергозатрат, что компенсируется повышенной калорийностью. Так же в пайках предусматривают то что солдат может быть оторван от полевой кухни, и для этого им ложат дезинфицирующие таблетки, чтобы стреилизовать воду. Что дает большую автономность, так же в пайки нередко ложат витаминные и поливитаминные комплексы, для поддержания здоровья бойца, и такого в Американском мре я не видел ни разу. Что же касается разогревательной системы, у нас тоже ложат зимические нагреватели, но при очень низких температурах допустим как у нас бывает -30 или даже выше. Вот на днях у нас было -42, никакой химический нагреватель не работает, банально, вода просто замёрзнет, да и химической реакции не получится, а если и получится то будет очень слабой, проверенно на личном опыте. На сухом горючем, можно и еду разогреть и самому согреться, и даже небольшую палатку, подогреть. Отдельно хотел бы отметить, тот вариант что такую таблетку легко потушить, в отличии от химической грелки, и в тепловизор будет куда лучше видно. Так же многие из ребят с кем мы были на полигонах часто оставляли данные таганки, и сухое горючее, а потом выменивали его у местного населения, на нужные вещи. То же касается и спичек, в американских мре ложат отрывные спички, которые в большинстве своем почти бесполезны. В Российских же ложат охотничьи спички которые работают, хоть при сильном ветре, хоть в снегу хоть под водой. Они сделаны специально для любых условий. Что касается тары её мы часто использовали как ведро, а коробки использовали как розжиг для костра. Что касается жирной еды, да жира много но в холодную погоду это отличный источник энергии. Так же могу подсказать еще одно применение жира, когда ты в -40 стоишь на посту, под обжигающим ветром, кожа легко обветривается, мы же брали жир из пайка, и мазали его тоненьким слоем, пользуясь как кремом, для защиты от обморожения, и обветриваний. Российские пайки предназначены для того чтобы есть во время стоянки, во время боя никакой еды быть не может, иначе солдат менее сконцентрирован, и отвлекается от задачи, а значит снижает эффективность подразделения. Мы на ходу часто использовали шоколадные батончики по типу сникерса, если уж сильно захотелось есть и срочно нужна энергия. Благодарю за внимание, и очень жду новый уже нормальный обзор на Российский МРЕ, с поправками после комментариев. Очень бы хотелось увидеть непосредственно сравнение, с отсылками к боевому опыту, или же с приведением ситуации, в которой его можно было бы использовать. Буду ждать ответа.
ИРП армии "гонять тапочников" vs ИРП армии "перемогать в окопах и блиндажах". MRE вкусный, вкуснее нашего (возможно, потому что необычные вкусы), но в автономку я бы только с нашим пошёл, 5000 ккал это не шутки. Хотя Мурзу, говорят, и трёх пайков на день не хватает, но я с нашего за сутки урабатывался, хотя жрун ещё тот.
I wonder if Russian rations have a higher calory content because of the winter conditions. Soldiers in the field need up to 5000 calories a day in the winter.

This video shows us that both we and Americans created their mres for their own needs. Even colors - Americans expect to fight in sands, we do in forests. Americans expect to eat in the environment where thogh you have to warm your food, you probably don't have to warm yourself, whereas in Russian 6 months a year making a bonfire is an essential need. Ну, у США и РФ свои требования к MRE. Тут говорить о том, что из них лучше - не имеет смысла. Можно разве что придираться к качеству еды. Но опять же, бюджеты и индустрия не очень сопоставимы. MRE РФ можно купить за 4$ на наших торговых площадках. И это все рассчитано что бы обеспечить едой на 24 часа. Боюсь представить сколько это стоит в закупке. Так что результат по качеству/количеству считаю выше похвал

555! Either way, both taste way better than the Canadian rations. I like the American one for its diverse selections. But Ive had the Russian one and prefer the savory taste of the meat, the fat etc. Russian IMP has more food too.
Есть много мнений чей паек лучше, все зависит от минталитета той или иной кухни, но чей вкуснее и чей лучше зависит от условий его применения и употреюления..... Попробуйте паек из Белоруссии, многим понравится, даже напитки в пайках разные и все зависит от приоретета национальной кухни, если в американском это апельсин, лимон, вишня то в русском это малина, клубника, вишня, черешня, аблипиха, смородина, зависит от меню на пайке.... А лучше когда полевая кухня успевает привести обед, ужин, те кто хочет попробовать пойки то я рекомендую паек Белоруссии, Казахстана, ЮАР, но каждому свое....

Man, what you actually have to do is get US MRE to the Russia and make a test there both summer and in cold. Would be better if you'll get some russian veteran and you both will have MRE's side by side tasting out in the wild. Then this guy should show you how to hadnle Russian MRE propperly.

The way the MRE is "cooking herself" with the chimical process is great ahah never saw that. French rations are really tasties with quality products but the cooker within is a joke, you need to building up your "micro fireplace" that you have to set up and heat with matches... On the field it was better to eating cold 😂 BTW the Russian packaging is more like the french one with carboard and boxes, only with russian tastes of course

Я снимал видео для Даниэла про оставшийся у меня американский MRE. И совсем забыл сказать, что сначала эти сухпайки очень нравятся, первые пару недель они кажутся вкусными. Но через месяц они перестают нравиться, даже если брать другое основное блюдо. На Гаити я их ел примерно 3 месяца, и в конце уже терпеть не мог. Несколько раз даже старался разбавить макаронами или яйцами, потому что характерный консервированный привкус просто отталкивал. Еще добавлю: Самый крутой MRE, который мне попадался, был с сосисками в консервной банке. Еще мне до сих пор нравится способ приготовления в виде пакета, где происходит химическая реакция. Это удобно - налил воды, положил MRE, затем всё это положил в рюкзак. И пока идешь дальше, еда нагревается и поддерживается в горячем виде. Это практично в походных условиях.
Любая еда быстро приедается, если её употреблять каждый день, одну и ту же. Я сейчас на диете, и меня уже воротит от куриных грудок, и корейской лапши.
Бурятская тушенка уже не та. Да в 2011 помню после соревнования по спортивному ориентированию съел две банки подряд. Сейчас в них много жил и др. суб продуктов. Монгольская лучше.
As someone who can not eat liver (the smell alone makes me vomit), from time to time i get what's called bird meat pate. Doesn't stink. Of course, it's made from like skins and shit, but sometimes you just want some of that mystery spread.

American MRE is ment for >morale boostperformance< main focus is calories >4790 calories vs ~1300 calories(USA) that Pashtet(Pâté) is the most vital food in russian MRE because it contains 52% of daily need Cobalamin(b12) and 30% Iron thats essential for building red bloodcells in case of a wound or high oxygen demanding activities.
in extreme cold your body needs 20-40% more calories and sometimes more if you very active
When my grandmother was a little girl, she had a great grandfather who used to tell her about his experience in the US Civil War. He said the food always contained maggots. If you could eat it without without throwing up, then it was OK. Be grateful for MREs
Hello Daniel. Interesting video. I remembered how I served in the navy and they prepared a signature dish of Russian sailors. This dish is called "makarony po flotsky" - naval pasta. I served in the Navy in 1993. This is still my favorite dish. We didn't have MRE - (sukhpayok on russian - dry rations) , but we had a lot of canned meat and fish. Canned meat is known as "tushenka" - stew.

Писал уже под предыдущим видео. Сравнивать стоит сравнимое. Ближе к американскому МРЕ стоит наш ИРП-Б за минусом "пищевых привычек" в нашем тупо больше калорий и не в виде "быстрых углеводов" как в американском а в виде полноценного белка и жиров. С учётом климата. Приходилось пробовать МРЕ но сугубое ИМХО питаться им больше пары дней невозможно... На нашем хоть и без особого удовольствия можно долго просидеть. (опять же возможно это разница в пищевых привычках.) Беспламенный разогреватель в холодном климате почти бесполезен. Хотя безусловно удобен когда нет возможности остановиться. Поэтому в наших ИРП-Б и беспламенник кладут и таганок...
Ну и так просто для напоминания... Мы из Афганистана хотя бы с развёрнутыми знамёнами уходили ...
If you're in for trying MREs from more places, you could try out Swedish as well, i'm not sure if they're still the same as the ones i've tried, but they used to be very very good, to the point where they were fairly popular to buy from "Överskottsbolaget" ie "Military surplus company" which made military stuff cheaper by selling it cheaply to civillian market, enlarging the total production.
Available both as 24h packs, ie for a full day like the Russian ones, or as individual meals(breakfast, lunch, dinner, extras, snacks), with some very varied foods(you could literally do a restaurant menu out of them).
In regards to comparing the Russian and US MREs, i give the Russian one a small win.
Why? Because the menu is designed primarily to make sure there's all you need from it, without the massive amount of additives the US ones use to make up for the lack of natural ones.
The Swedish ones are in between in that regard, so less chemicals than the US ones, but more than the Russian, also, they also have a whole bundle of different snacks, a halfdozen per 24h pack or something like that. They're also a bit too much on the "pampering" side of things same as the US ones, slightly better but not much, rather than focusing on the NEEDED like the Russian.
Oh, and 555 i guess...

Hello Daniel. You probably gonna not like Шпик (salted pork fat). It should be in the same can as a cheese, so be careful. Шпик (salted pork fat) is traditional slavic addition to main course (mostly soups) you eat with bread, but i saw a lot of foreigners not liking it. And yeah Liver pâté (паштет) is not a loved much too. If you wanna do more videos about Russian MRE you should order some more. There are a lot of variations of them (mre for offcires, mre for special forces and etc). All main courses mostly based on Tushonka (canned stewed beef) because it the most popular type of canned food in Russia. Its Tushonka with rice, potato, macaronies, buckwheats, pearlbarley and sometimes there is just a can of Tushonka. When you get the can of just meat you can actually make a proper meal. Its mostly for low intencity war zones. You fry onion, then add the meat from the can, maybe salt and pepper and then you just mix it with the boiled rice/potato/macaronies. Add ketchup or mayo or both and here you go. So from 1 can of Tushonka you can make a whole pot of food for a couple days. Or you can make a soup based on Tushonka. Just boil Tushonka meat with some onion, carrots and potatos. Tushonka is the main component of the Russian military field kitchen. So if you dont like Tushonka, then dont order more russian mres

Both in the first review and now, a lot of attention was paid to the “chemical food warmer” (“CFW”). "CFW" - ancient as “mammoth shit”, in 1914 at the beginning of World War 1 “CFW” was invented for the needs of the Russian Imperial Army (sealed iron cans of canned food with an integrated “CRW” in each can individually, activated by turning the bottom of the can 90 degrees, after reaching the set temperature , heating stopped automatically). After purchasing a trial batch of “CFW” canned goods, the RIA Military Department considered them “too expensive” for the army, the contract was terminated, and those produced in excess of the contract went to the civilian market. No more "CFW" canned products were produced.
After the Revolution of 1917, representatives of the manufacturing company emigrated from Russia and took away technological documentation.
At the end of the 30s, before the start of World War 2, technological documentation for "CFW" canned food came to the command of the Wehrmacht-WH. The Germans became very interested and started producing "CFW" canned food for the Mountain Rangers-GJ, Airborne Troopers-LW, reconnaissance officers and saboteurs operating in the northern regions. Around the beginning of 1944, the production of "CFW" canned food was discontinued "too expensive"...
In the early 80s, in Japan, using the same “CFW” technology, they began to produce self-heating cups with coffee, tea and even Japanese vodka-sake, and then “CFW” canned food. Не скажу ничего о нынешних сухпаях - не пробовал и ни аппетита и желания особого не имею - стойкая любовь к сухому пайку сухопутных войск СССР. С большим удовольствием, когда служил в СА, буквально ОБЖИРАЛИСЬ советскими сухпаями: тушенками разными, даже галетами безвкусными, предпочитая их приему пищи в солдатской столовой - вот такой парадокс!...Сухпайки у нас были разные по содержанию - у сухвойск одни, у летунов, у вдв и морпехов с горнострелками другие и т.п. Но тушенка до сих пор помнится. Пробовал американский сухпай, вернее, "суп танкиста"...Да, вещь безусловно калорийна, но безвкусна и выйдя на гражданку ты вряд ли захочешь "заместить" ею обычный прием пищи. А вот тушеночкой и солдаты бывшие и морячки... непременно и с удовольствием ее выложат на "дастархан" где-нить на рыбалке, по закусь. А попробуйте закусить водку чем-нибудь из ИРПа морпеха США...))))))))

I must have a cast iron stomach because I haven't found a US MRE I couldn't eat. I've tried a couple Russian versions of their MRE's that rely the on potted meats with high fat content which gives you more calories for colder temps. The vapors coming out of the US heater pouch is hydrogen gas which is highly flammable and can blow the roof off your tent so you don't want to heat your food up with 4 or 5 buddies in a really confined space! Oh yeah when you go back to Russia could ya take Joe Biden with ya..heck I'll pay for the airfare 🤣😂🤣😂.

Хороший сухпай - это тот которым ты умеешь и привык пользоваться.
Русский ты использовал совсем не правильно. Поэтому многого не понял и не оценил.
По поводу химической грелки. Такое себе удовольствие.
1. Вся еда получается просто вареная, поджарить на ней ты ничего не сможешь даже маршмеллоу
2. Твой разогретый пакет нельзя быстро выключить и он будет самым ярким пятном в тепловизоре беспилотника или снайпера.
3. Для твоей грелки нужна вода, много или мало не важно тебе придется тащить ее на себе, а потом ты просто ее выбросишь.
Про вкус ничего говорить не буду любой паек - это просто набор калорий, которые нужны тебе для работы. Пара блюд в нем вкусные остальные чтоб не сдохнуть от голода.
Про упаковку, американскую ты просто выбросил и все, а у русской есть масса нетрадиционных вариантов применения, которые бывают крайне полезны в полевых условиях.
Общая концепция русского пайка - это полностью автономный солдат, на значительное время, в любых условиях на Земле и немножко в ближнем космосе.)))
Американский паек - это сумбурный перекус для того, чтобы добежать до ближайшей солдатской столовой, где ждет охлажденная Кока-кола, пиво и девочки с низкой социальной ответственностью)))
Is fatty food beneficial in a cold because it has lower freezing point as well? Never tried it seen it and just wonder if you would be able to eat some of the items even in freezing temperatures without heating it 🤔

This longer digestion time make your body work to digest the fat so you feel warmer on a long cold night outdoors. Yes warming or cooking it like a slab of bacon cut in strips make it more tasty but you can also eat it cold or you just keep it inside your jacket close to your body so it doesn't freeze solid if you can't have a fire.

В нашем сухпай так же предусмотрены химические нагреватели. По приказу 888 они комплектуются если консервы в мягких упаковках. Плюс так же в полевых условиях, на учениях, в зоне боевых действий и проч дополнительно выдаётся 1.5 литра бутилированной воду. Это так же по этому приказу.
Я пробовал Малогабаритный Рацион Питания РФ и мне его хватило на 2 недели Отличная Еда! Два супа сварил и Макароны по Флотски сделал! (у меня Был паек весом 1,47 кг) а Второй (2,1 кг) я ещё не открывал (пока что)

Hey, greetings from sunny Kazakhstan, we are not far from the border of Russia and China, and I am glad to accidentally stumble upon your video, after which I subscribed.
I don't think I'll get a detailed answer from you, or just an answer, but I'll express my opinion.
I've tried rations from different countries, and each has its own characteristics, depending on the type of cuisine and the type of warfare, which actually plays a crucial role.
Russian MPEs have dozens of variations, for individual needs, there are rations for landfills, there are rations for combat special forces, there are rations for special services, there are Arctic rations, and even there are rations for prison guards.
Most importantly, it is advisable to compare similar soldering, according to the content, so that the video is objective.
In Russian rations, everything is focused on ensuring that the soldier receives the maximum amount of energy, with a minimum amount. The main issue is survival, not the desire to please tastes.
Since these rations are often used in very harsh conditions, then they have such an approach to filling.
In cold climates, the body requires high energy consumption, which is compensated by increased calorie content.
The rations also provide that the soldier can be torn away from the field kitchen, and for this they are given disinfectant tablets to sterilize the water.
Which gives greater autonomy, vitamin and multivitamin complexes are also often placed in rations to maintain the health of a fighter, and I have never seen such a thing in the American MP.
As for the heating system, we also have chemical heaters, but at very low temperatures, let's say -30 or even higher. The other day we had -42, no chemical heater works, it's banal, the water will just freeze, and the chemical reaction will not work, and if it does, it will be very weak, tested on personal experience.
On dry fuel, you can warm up the food and warm up yourself, and even warm up a small tent.
Separately, I would like to note that such a tablet is easy to extinguish, unlike a chemical heating pad, and the thermal imager will be much better visible.
Also, many of the guys with whom we were at the landfills often left the taganka data, and dry fuel, and then exchanged it with the local population for the necessary things.
The same applies to matches, in American mre they put tear-off matches, which for the most part are almost useless.
In Russian, they put hunting matches that work, even in strong winds, even in snow, even under water. They are made specifically for all conditions.
As for the packaging, we often used it as a bucket, and the boxes were used as a fire starter.
As for fatty foods, yes there is a lot of fat, but in cold weather it is an excellent source of energy.
I can also suggest another use of fat, when you are standing on duty at -40, under a scorching wind, the skin is easily chapped, we took fat from the ration, and smeared it with a thin layer, using it as a cream to protect against frostbite and weathering.
Russian rations are designed to eat during parking, during combat there can be no food, otherwise the soldier is less concentrated, and is distracted from the task, which means reduces the effectiveness of the unit.
We often used snickers-type chocolate bars on the go, if we really wanted to eat and urgently needed energy.

I have read your comment and trust me I understand almost everything you mentioned I already knew. But you have to understand that when I’m doing an opening for the very first time of a Russian MRI as a veteran of a war in a hot place. Of course, my bias will take over.
But for the most part, I completely agree with absolutely everything you said it is obvious that things are designed for optimal performance of the man who is going to use it.

I have no idea what current US MREs taste like, but in the 90s we did receive some as humanitarian aid from the US (in our region they were distribited to families with 4+ children). As kids, we really loved the powder "juice" packets. Two flavors - "grape" and "cherry", either one permanently stained china, porcelain and anything you accidentally spilled them on. We were also a bit baffled by sun block creme - first off, it was not a thing in Russia back then, and second, it had a warning sign "for black skin only" or something like that. Same with foull-smelling hair removal creme. Those were from Desert Storm, i think, about to expire..still loved them.
Black folks skin dries out real easy,it may have been a type of moisturizer too.

Okay, very important to keep in mind. This is Russian MRE - P variant. Comparing it to US MRE, then you have take three MREs of different meals. Russian MRE - P is designed for 24 hour consumption (Break, Lunch, and Dinner). US MRE obviously is one time consumed meal, with whatever left to graze on. Also, you can scrunch up MREs if you'll take them out of the containers. I always rat fucked mine and mixed them up into "The Ranger Meals" like the all famous Ranger Pudding. The only reason why 3 MREs are larger is due to that bulky container, but if you'll take them out, the meals actually stack in whatever container possible better than Russian IRP-P. Most of all I like how many different meals are available in MRE. Russian ones, at least in my time only had 11 different meals. US already had 25 different ones.
The biggest advantage though of Russian MRE is the fact, they do not give you as much of constipation as MRE does. - You will not be shitting bricks after week or two worth of eating them in comparison to US MRE.

Daniel, I am not a soldier so I view your vid with common sense. The Russian MRE is more complete with heater system and three meals. The drink with cancer taste is maybe overdosed vitamines and medicine. Your trip into the wilderness snake mountain can explain how dangerous battlefield is. You are a good vlogger ! Не думаю что получу от тебя развернутый ответ, или же просто ответ, но выскажу свое мнение.
Я пробовал пйки разных стран, и у каждого свои особенности, в зависимости от типа кухни, и типа ведения боевых действий, что на самом деле играет решающую роль.
У Российских мре есть десятки вариаций, под отдельные нужды, есть пайки для полигонов, есть пайки для боевых спецподразделений, есть пайки для специальных служб, есть арктические пайки, и даже есть пайки для тюремной охраны.
Что самое важное, желательно сравнивать похожие пайки, по наполнению, чтоюы видео было объективным.
В российских пайках все заточено на то, чтобы солдат получил максимальный запас энергии, при минимальном объёме. Во главу ставится вопрос выживаемости, а не желания угодить вкусам.
По тому как этий пайки часто используются в весьма суровых условиях, то и подход к намолнению у них такой.
В холодном климате, организм требует больших энергозатрат, что компенсируется повышенной калорийностью.
Так же в пайках предусматривают то что солдат может быть оторван от полевой кухни, и для этого им ложат дезинфицирующие таблетки, чтобы стреилизовать воду.
Что дает большую автономность, так же в пайки нередко ложат витаминные и поливитаминные комплексы, для поддержания здоровья бойца, и такого в Американском мре я не видел ни разу.
Что же касается разогревательной системы, у нас тоже ложат зимические нагреватели, но при очень низких температурах допустим как у нас бывает -30 или даже выше. Вот на днях у нас было -42, никакой химический нагреватель не работает, банально, вода просто замёрзнет, да и химической реакции не получится, а если и получится то будет очень слабой, проверенно на личном опыте.
На сухом горючем, можно и еду разогреть и самому согреться, и даже небольшую палатку, подогреть.
Отдельно хотел бы отметить, тот вариант что такую таблетку легко потушить, в отличии от химической грелки, и в тепловизор будет куда лучше видно.
Так же многие из ребят с кем мы были на полигонах часто оставляли данные таганки, и сухое горючее, а потом выменивали его у местного населения, на нужные вещи.
То же касается и спичек, в американских мре ложат отрывные спички, которые в большинстве своем почти бесполезны.
В Российских же ложат охотничьи спички которые работают, хоть при сильном ветре, хоть в снегу хоть под водой. Они сделаны специально для любых условий.
Что касается тары её мы часто использовали как ведро, а коробки использовали как розжиг для костра.
Что касается жирной еды, да жира много но в холодную погоду это отличный источник энергии.
Так же могу подсказать еще одно применение жира, когда ты в -40 стоишь на посту, под обжигающим ветром, кожа легко обветривается, мы же брали жир из пайка, и мазали его тоненьким слоем, пользуясь как кремом, для защиты от обморожения, и обветриваний.
Российские пайки предназначены для того чтобы есть во время стоянки, во время боя никакой еды быть не может, иначе солдат менее сконцентрирован, и отвлекается от задачи, а значит снижает эффективность подразделения.
Мы на ходу часто использовали шоколадные батончики по типу сникерса, если уж сильно захотелось есть и срочно нужна энергия.

MRE вкусный, вкуснее нашего (возможно, потому что необычные вкусы), но в автономку я бы только с нашим пошёл, 5000 ккал это не шутки. Хотя Мурзу, говорят, и трёх пайков на день не хватает, но я с нашего за сутки урабатывался, хотя жрун ещё тот.

This video shows us that both we and Americans created their mres for their own needs. Even colors - Americans expect to fight in sands, we do in forests. Americans expect to eat in the environment where thogh you have to warm your food, you probably don't have to warm yourself, whereas in Russian 6 months a year making a bonfire is an essential need. Americans may afford to put candies and nutses into mres when ours desperately try to put more lard even, I believe, into chocolate )
About temperatures. There's a Russian book on economy and stuff called Why Russia isnt America and I read there that on all the planet Earth only some inner parts of Mongolia are colder than Russia, so, I think this Finland never stands near ) Yeah, Finland isnt Miami but it's still warmed by Gulfstream. Russia isn't. Flat terrain and polar winds, you know )

Ну, у США и РФ свои требования к MRE. Тут говорить о том, что из них лучше - не имеет смысла. Можно разве что придираться к качеству еды. Но опять же, бюджеты и индустрия не очень сопоставимы.
MRE РФ можно купить за 4$ на наших торговых площадках. И это все рассчитано что бы обеспечить едой на 24 часа. Боюсь представить сколько это стоит в закупке. Так что результат по качеству/количеству считаю выше похвал

Есть много мнений чей паек лучше, все зависит от минталитета той или иной кухни, но чей вкуснее и чей лучше зависит от условий его применения и употреюления..... Попробуйте паек из Белоруссии, многим понравится, даже напитки в пайках разные и все зависит от приоретета национальной кухни, если в американском это апельсин, лимон, вишня то в русском это малина, клубника, вишня, черешня, аблипиха, смородина, зависит от меню на пайке.... А лучше когда полевая кухня успевает привести обед, ужин, те кто хочет попробовать пойки то я рекомендую паек Белоруссии, Казахстана, ЮАР, но каждому свое....

The way the MRE is "cooking herself" with the chimical process is great ahah never saw that. French rations are really tasties with quality products but the cooker within is a joke, you need to building up your "micro fireplace" that you have to set up and heat with matches... On the field it was better to eating cold 😂 BTW the Russian packaging is more like the french one with carboard and boxes, only with russian tastes of course

Я снимал видео для Даниэла про оставшийся у меня американский MRE. И совсем забыл сказать, что сначала эти сухпайки очень нравятся, первые пару недель они кажутся вкусными. Но через месяц они перестают нравиться, даже если брать другое основное блюдо. На Гаити я их ел примерно 3 месяца, и в конце уже терпеть не мог. Несколько раз даже старался разбавить макаронами или яйцами, потому что характерный консервированный привкус просто отталкивал.
Еще добавлю: Самый крутой MRE, который мне попадался, был с сосисками в консервной банке. Еще мне до сих пор нравится способ приготовления в виде пакета, где происходит химическая реакция. Это удобно - налил воды, положил MRE, затем всё это положил в рюкзак. И пока идешь дальше, еда нагревается и поддерживается в горячем виде. Это практично в походных условиях.
Любая еда быстро приедается, если её употреблять каждый день, одну и ту же. Я сейчас на диете, и меня уже воротит от куриных грудок, и корейской лапши.
Консервы, причём любые, даже самые вкусные, быстро надоедают..
Исключение - гречневая каша и бурятская тушёнка.
Это можно кушать практически вечно))

Бурятская тушенка уже не та. Да в 2011 помню после соревнования по спортивному ориентированию съел две банки подряд. Сейчас в них много жил и др. суб продуктов. Монгольская лучше.

I saw the other day that some Russian MREs now have a dish called "mixed pate". Not liver, salmon or beef. Mixed. Highly suspect. 🤔
As someone who can not eat liver (the smell alone makes me vomit), from time to time i get what's called bird meat pate. Doesn't stink. Of course, it's made from like skins and shit, but sometimes you just want some of that mystery spread.

спичку надо сразу класть на таблетку,а еду приоткрывать зараннее,таблетки нужны для обеззараживания воды.а мясо смешивать с рисом,коробку можно оборвать набрать воды например,или сразу несколько человек вываливают туда рис и мясо и еда готовится сразу на всех,в боевых действиях нету возможности даже на беспламенный разогреватель,да и желания есть в такие моменты нету. Обычно наша еда пересолена из за сохранения жидкости в организме за счет соли в продуктах
