Depends a lot on the person, i passed my test and went straight to an R6 apart from dropping the bike on a camber as i lost footing everything else has been fine. I can trust myself not to go into the range where its sketchy and stay within my limits until i feel like i can actually push it around that corner a little faster than last time.
You can make an R6 like an R3 just by learning to conduct yourself and not ride beyond your limit.
