  • I bought and imported a whole cargo container full of Chinese heavy equipment. On this video we go over the mini skid steer and what attachments I bought for it!

    I paid 5K for my 24 model wheeled SDLOOL SL380 from an auction. Had zero hours on it. In looking it over basic maintenance will be a challenge. Impossible to get to the oil dip stick without removing 12 bolts on the engine cover. Oil dipstick is partially blocked by some of the hydraulic lines making it difficult to remove and reinstall. Also 23 HP Rato engine oil drain is just a plug at the bottom of the engine. Plan to add a drain hose to keep oil from going everywhere. Oil fill will require some type of flexible funnel. Difficult to get at. Oil filter and air filters should not be an issue. Other than that it starts and runs great once you get used to the sensitive controls. Purchased a fork frame and tines along with a hitch receiver and Piranha tooth bar to move our trailers around without a vehicle.

      I have wheeled SDLOOL SL380 also from auction out of Chehalis, WA July 2023.
      Great little machine!!
      I probably moved around 6 tons of snow here in Meridian, ID during our last snowmageddon snow season.
      I'm just over 50 hours and getting ready to change my hydraulic filter and oil.
      Has anyone done this yet?
      I have 2" hitch receiver plate for moving my trailers.
      I found a cheap 18" extension for the receiver plate and use to unload and lift with.
      I was able to cross reference spin on oil filters and spark plugs.
      I have 4-1 bucket which I'm looking forward to using this next spring.
      I've replaced accessory adapter with a dual USB charger combo voltage meter.
      And I added a cup holder/cell phone holder.
      I'm adding an accessory fuse block for added accessories like side marker lights, interior lighting for checking fluids, maintenance and such.
      I've got my 4 LED marker lights (2 red in back and 2 amber in front) mounted and about wired.
      I have a bunch of white lights to mount inside for making maitenance easier and for the exterior front and rear for night work.
      I have an 8-5 day job so the snow and excavation side work I've been doing goes into the twilight hours.
      For oil changes, I've added a drain tube adapter kit that replaces the oil drain plug with a threaded barb fitting that receives a rubber hose and the far end has a tool-less, threaded nylon drain plug. The rubber hose is long enough to reach a drain pan outside of the engine compartment by the standplate. As for filling, I use a $2 funnel with tube from auto parts store. The flexible nylon tube goes right through the panel where the throttle is and I put into the filler hole at the top of the engine. I use a scrap length of copper wire to hold the funnel to the right wrist rest/handle bar so I can refill or top off without making a mess. It is a lot easier than it sounds.
      A couple of interesting notes;
      1) The power cut on-off (not ignition) switch on the side of the machine, cuts off the ground NOT the power. BUT always cut the power off when not running. My maintenance meter got
      2) Cycling the light switch off-on turns the headlights very bright, off-on-off-on makes them a little less bright and off-on-off-on-off-on causes them to flash repeatedly.
      3) It's easier to maneuver the machine on low speed when precision is necessary otherwise it's very torque. Things run more smoothly when you keep the bucket low when moving to where you need to dump high like with a high side dump tailer.
      4) I highly recommend replacing the break-in oil after 1st hour of low RPM usage, filter is optional BUT this is cheap insurance.
      5) Check oil often until the engine is broke-in.
      6) I read about a guy who was having hydraulic issues and went away after changing hydraulic oil. I'm replacing mine at 50 hours. Again cheap insurance. My machine came with a replacement hydraulic fluid filter and I'm investigating a replacement filter. I've had great luck with folks at local hydraulic shop for free information.
      7) Tires... eventually the time will come and I've researched. They take 22PSI, on dry concrete you can smoke doing a 360 donut, on wet make steam. Each tire can do 8 The tires on my machine are 18x8.5x8 tubeless, I was able to locate and buy HD chains but did not need then for flatland now removal. It was fun as heck pivoting BUT the machine does not move fastly. When the manual refers to chevron tyre that is a pattern description for tires. I've had great luck with these tires in mud and snow HOWEVER, once you bottom out then you are probably done. I've been able to use the bucket to rock up and push out of being stuck. It takes some practice but it can be done.
      8) All that being said, check ALL bolts for tightness. I've had to tighten all of the bolts that retain the greasable zerk pins on the bucket arms, all of the bolts on one of my wheel drive motors the hydraulic reservoir bolts for one of the flanges (minor seepage), both sprocket bolts cinched down to one more cotter way and a hydraulic line nut was loose so I put a wrench on them all. They do not need to be super tight because they have o-ring in the taper connection. But snug is cheap insurance.
      9) If your motor keeps cutting out then check the oil level. The oil sensor in the motor sump has a switch that kills the spark when the oil is below the proper level. But in a pinch you can disable it if necessary. BUT remember oil is really GOOD for the engine. So do at own risk. It could be different based on model but look at the schematic. My rig shut down and got me stuck on the ramps while loading on my trailer and I had to figure it out the hard way. lol
      10) If you mess with adding accessories, then use a fuse. The generators/magnetos on these are the low current ones and you do not want to toast one.
      11) Chain lube, I use a clingy motorcycle lube because it penetrates, dust rinses off and it clings purdy good.
      12) Gotta figure out how to better choke and throttle because my cables would freeze and not move. I had to trick the choke on but once started, they warmed up after a bit and then moved freely again. BUT a big pain getting out the heat gun each time. I'll probably end up pulling the cables out and using lithium grease on the wire inside the cable. Ideas?
      These are fun, versatile and very useful!!!
      Good luck on your adventure and if anyone has info to share, I am all ears!

      Yeah that’s a worry, the factory has it all available and supposedly they are compatible with name brand swap outs like Parker or Eaton pumps. Not certain on that, but that’s what I was told. I’ll cross that bridge when it comes…

      10,500 plus import tax and shipping. So total since it was ordered as a whole container would be around $12,000. I’ll try to do a video breaking it all down and more precise info on the pricing.

    Do you mind telling us the price of the machine ? Can you order it with a diesel , instead of a gas engine ?

    • @adVANturers
      @adVANturers  Před 4 měsíci +3

      The machine I got was $7,360 before taxes, shipping import fees and additional implements . You can order it with a diesel engine. I’ve found another manufacturer that has a higher working lift capacity (530 kg) and Kubota D1105 engine and it’s $10,500 before fees. If you’re interested let me know.

      I’m looking for something similar, but preferably electric, such as the Sherpa SH100E that would be very small and be able to run different attachments, primarily the bucket and the power trencher to loosen the soil for a basement dugout without fumes. Preferably remote controlled like the Sherpa. Thanks.
