  • The "original" Chinese skid steer, according to them. You think my Chinese Lovol tractor is rough? Check out this gem...Taian Luyue Modern Agricultural Equipment 60hp skid steer loader straight from China, with a Zhejiang Xinchai 4 cylinder diesel. You can still buy this exact same machine straight from the land of greed and communism

    Considering the price point and the fact it was 14 years old at the time of the video, you can't really complain about it too much! The things that have broken are likely to break on any brand of machine that age, especially of that type of machine. The rest of it is just keeping on top of it as things fail as with anything. To be honest, if you can still buy this exact same machine today I think I'd prefer it to the major brands. Most of those machines have just become far too complex and expensive to keep for just doing casual work. I saw one of the newer bobcat tracked loaders the other day with a guy plugging a tablet into it to reset something so it would rev up again properly. I think most of us would be happy without that kind of BS in our lives! 😁

    Might want to attach a bunch of sacrificial anodes. It's probably safer than trying to take the paint off to replace it, as it's probably got enough lead in it to give you a bad time.

    I really liked this and the tractor reviews. I spent a lot of time trying to research mini excavators and skid steers from China and had a hard time finding anything. I settled on a 03 bobkitten 463 I bought w 800hrs and a had just had the 1000hr service from dealer before I bought it from Ritchie bros auction. It looked about as rough as your 07 and has been a pretty high maintenance last 250hrs I put on it in the last 2 yrs of playing around learning. The thing I get a kick out of is your dad bought Chinese crap that you've been pulling your hair out over and then you went and bought the Lovol bcs you have a heel to nut fetish?

      Anything from Ritchies scare me even more than Chinese stuff, but maybe that's just my bad luck. I rolled the dice on the tractor because I couldn't find anybody else that had, at the very least now we all know better

      @@backwoodsbuildingandfixing9223 I get that. I've been flipping trucks from the rigs in Alberta and fixing up and selling in mb on this past year. They are never as good as you expect. I've bought the auger set and jackhammer for my bobkitten from ritchie. It only does 10 gpm but the jackhammer worked great. Haven't used augers yet. Did get a snowplow that bobtach won't fit on. Chinese junk is what it is. Sometimes fixing it to make better is cheaper then buying quality...

      @@masterofnone3887my thoughts exactly. I can weld broken mounts and change and seal leakh hoses and mix and match when need be. But if i spend 80k+ on a miniskid from a dealer, i'll be more pissed off that it broke and less willing to mixmatch... looking for somethjng for home use, heftier snowblower wih 4ft width, something to move 8-16ft logs around. I wish i could just fix up a POS like this if I got it for free. Looming into the ride-on models. Could save 35k $ if brought from china, but still 25000$ with all customs and extra fees. Wouldn't want it to crap out in a month, or not stand-up to it's load rating.

      Then again, 70000 from bobcat,vermeer,ditchwitch or toro and still may not lift it's rated 1700lbs or tipover too easy in the woods.

      @@backwoodsbuildingandfixing9223 Had a friend who had a Chinese skid steer, called viper or something. It had some kind of Chinese yanmar clone engine. it was also 15K or so when new. ran well for over 10 years before the hoses started to fail. he let it sit and rust out and eventually sold it cheap to some young guy looking for a project.

    hello! Thank you very much for the video. I have the same machine and it has been a headache. I recently did a complete engine overhaul and after putting everything together, it seems to me that there is something wrong with the hydraulics. Do you keep the floor lever in the middle position? If I put it in some of the extremes I feel that the motor engages and loses power. But when using the lever from floor to middle, I have to push both levers down to lift and it's supposed to be abnormal. Could you describe to me how it behaves on your machine? I appreciate it a lot!

    • @backwoodsbuildingandfixing9223
      @backwoodsbuildingandfixing9223  Před 2 lety +1

      I'm not sure what you mean by pushing down both levers to lift? In any case if we're talking about that pedal on the floor, yes it stays in the middle position. It would be normal to hear the engine load down if you engage it in either direction, especially without an attachment because then you're basically deadheading the pump.

      Not through any of the Chinese sellers AFAIK. They aren't interested in dealing with logistics beyond getting it on a boat. My pop bought this through a reseller that dealt with all that already, though when I bought my tractor I did the import process and delivery arrangements myself (involved getting a trucking company with port access to pick up the container and bring it to a warehouser that was willing to unload it)

      @@Robert-zx2df It does, not anything special though. If you want 20 acres close to town with well and septic done on a paved road with power and gas it'd be a tough go, and if you're looking for a quarter section of cleared farmland you need to be a millionaire, but if you want 20-30 acres of treed second or third cut an hour or more away from any town you can still get in for $150k. You can also get big acreage for under $200k if you're willing to get pretty far from civilization. That's up north though, the further south you go the nuttier it gets. In the Fraser Valley if you have half an acre you could sell it for $1-2million
