So you buy property and youebtils its yours. Yet you pay interest to a bank, property taxes to tue government and in return. The bank makes you have insurance, the government tells you how you must maintain the home, what you can do on the property.

No law says a house has to be painted. State or federal.

They need to buzz off. They signed no covenant with no HOA to promise any standard of upkeep. Period.

Tbf, the wood will rot over time without paint to protect it and it is an eye soar to see a nice house that visually looks like it’s dilapidated. That being said, $18,000 to paint that house??? Hello???

and they don't have to follow your constitutional rights in city limits. something about a different jurisdiction. it doesn't apply to the code enforcement officer.

The city either needs more money or they want to get leans on the properties when the homeowners can't pay their fines and then repo the homes.

To all of the haters .... if you dont protect the wood , the house will fail quickly . Could be bugs, rodents, rain, roof, fire etc ...
Just makes sense to maintain a home . If a homeowner doesn't realize this , they should be a renter .

Should be able to do as we wish with our own property. Government overstepping our rights and you are ok with it. I can't believe people pay taxes on property every year when we pay them when we buy it. Just like paying taxes on a car each year, its bullshit. Nothing is ever yours in this country except the clothes on your back. If the fucking government wants it there not a goddamn thing we can do about it. Free citizens my ass.

And the haters also don't recognize that what they do impacts their neighbor's property value, and condition as well. It's called the social contract. A little education goes a long way.
