actually it's most viable against wolf, because AIs won't commit to a full on attack unless their castle is complete and secured and wolf takes really long to complete his.
Ballists are the best. Made whole campaing using mostly them. Ultimate unit.
Macemen rush to kill all his peasants and military units as they spawn, or mangonel/ballista rush to destroy his castle and burn his economy early

Actually, this Wolf helped you a lot with his castle. Even with defensive tactics this castle could be permanently sieged by mangonels and crossbowmen, while you doing other buisness.
Oh yeah. He could have locked the wolf in his keep by putting a few units to take out the his peasants at the camp and used his castles for defense.
This was amazing. At the beginning I was in awe as you attacked with and moved the lord. The beginning was seriously genius, like an advanced chess match or science.

I have beaten 7 wolf aginst me with 3k gold vs. 40k. It was with a bit of map advantage though
Already tried that with krarilotus updated wolves? I did. I even made an AI to beat the 5 top AIs 1 v 5. Heck that took long, unless 100% deff recruit first it ain't hold
@@abseits_ger7274 it's all about the map. Doing 1v7 wolves on UCP with maximum gold advantage can be both okay and impossible to do.
So I’m a cautious person right
Rarely attack with my lord cuz I’m too worried about losing
I only do so when I have no choice or know I’ll win the fight
So using your lord in the heat of battle is a real chad move
i build an aggressive tower in the beginning in most games, along with buying weapons early to recruit 10-30 crossbowmen and a siege weapon to man that tower. Thats when i always position my lord at the bottom of the stairs to the tower in order to prevent the enemy forces rushing the men on the tower. Pair this with a single fire throwing mercenary on the top of those stairs and this can withstand all attempts of storming it until your production reaches the level of producing capable melee troops, if youre not able to build a cathedral early that gives you access to monks.

But my strategy in stronghold 2 is to focus heavily on defense to tax tf outta my peasants
Then I build up around 20 knights and 50 swordsman, depending on the defenses of the castle I’ll bring archers or crossbows if necessary tho I usually opt for archers because they’re faster
Then for siege weaponry I’m pretty basic if I can get away with using only a platoon of laddermen I’m gonna do that
Otherwise I’ll bring catapults
Swordsmen act as a distraction while I get the ladders up and as soon as they are the mounted knights charge in towards the wall, immediately dismount, and scale the walls
If I’m feeling cocky I’ll bring my lord as part of that charge and deal with the resistance in the keep
If there’s ballistas I separate my swordsman into 2 groups, have them scale the towers and take out the ballistas and stand guard
Once resistance in the keep is dealt with I have my lord 1v1 and that usually grants a victory
Balancing in 2 is alot different than crusader tho I know that

A question: you're using UCP. What's your setting on AI lord attack target? I set it to attack the closest enemy (silly when they walk past an enemy castle) but I don't know if that's the most efficient setting.

For making infinite archers/crossbowmen/slingshots on any tower, you can place a single wall in the opposite of where your stairs are and click on that single wall as their destination. You can do this over and over and have a stupid mass of projectile soldiers on one tower, making it impossible for your e enemies to bypass them or get near them. Idk if you knew that or not, I didn't see anyone does it. whenever my enemies are so brutally strong and aggressive, I use this method.

I've always wanted to ask about your engineers, how do you built multiple shields or catapults without click the build icon one by one? like in the video you can select 10 engineers and build 10 shields. When I do it I have to select 10 engineers, click shield and place 1 on the ground and repeat that 10 times.

yeah like the guys here wrote, download the unofficial crusader patch. Makes the game a whole lot better (stuff like extremely needed bugfixes, using WASD, additional time/speed modes and much more)

Jeff, can you make a video and how to stack mass army of archers on a single tower. where there can only 40 - 50 units can settle at a single time. I just make 2 3 groups of 40+ units and then send them at tower at the same time. But is there any way to send all of them to settle up without making a group or so.

So today I played solo vs a team of 6 wolves on that same map, in that pesky central spot, 3k vs 40k. Wasn't really that challenging with sound rush tactics. Thirty macemen pretty quickly took down the closest pup before even he got to do anything and also looted his keep for about 9k gold. Then it was a matter of spamming units at the second (top right) and third (far right) puppy. With a mixture of skill and luck my attacks got through their defences and then it was only a matter of slowly building up my economy in the northern frontiers and grinding down the bottom right wolfy. The two wolfs on the bottom left tragically overlapped their castles making them completelly cut off from the rest of the map and useless. Overall a fun challenge, but I think 2k vs 8k would have been much harder to beat.
May I learn how you multiply Shields quickly? I have been playing this game for years, yet I couldn't find it.

Honestly I would just rush one of the wolves, get one less enemy and more money.
Rushing is, surprisingly, a great strat, especially when you're doing UCP with some harder AI. Especially when you're doing no magic bar in Extreme.
@@tracexcze5408 did you ever rush? You can kill the lord before he places his castle walls and hires plenty of ranged units. Early into the game it's usually enough for 30-40 assassin/macemen to kill almost any lord (depends on how far away they are).
@@tracexcze5408 you could've just said that you never rushed. What you're saying just makes no sense because if we're talking about this exact scenario: your enemies won't have enough gold to pressure you this fast even with UCP's improved AI and economy, also their first attack is never huge, that's just how the game works.
And you don't even need to spend all of your gold to rush in this exact scenario. Usually you need 30-40 troops of said type to kill in a really unpleasant situation.
The territorial and pressure advantage you get is enormous.
And if we're talking overall - you're just blatantly wrong. Even on missions like "Big One" enemies NEVER rush you that fast even with 40k gold and you can indeed rush Caliph that is pretty far away.

Admittedly it's funny, because I've actually done many different runs in Stronghold Crusader on UCP maximum difficulty AI, with stuff like disabled magic bar in Extreme too, so I'm literally one of the worst people you can brag about your "experience" to.

Honestly though, always using shields and horse archers is no honorable way to fight, especially considering the fact that the Ai never uses shields, and horse archers only to a moderate degree.
A patch should be made to balance some of the units A LOT more..
those horses costed alot of money though
It is always going to take cheese to defeat a ton of missile units taking 33% damage on castle walls. that is like a 3:1 advantage.

How could you build the shields with just one click?
What trick do you use to get archers into an already full tower? I always have to get really finiky with it to get them in there.
Add a single wall piece at the either side of the tower. Send 6 units up to that wall piece, 5 will stay in tower even if full. Machine gun 5 man arrow tower xD. Also funny to have one well defended tower protected of catapult fire with lord and 100 monks on it. All melee enemies run in and instant die. Though all of that is kinda cheesy. I prefer to man towers by their stone cost. -5 if ballista or mongonel on it
