    Nice blue and yellow colors for the sky. Dark blue all around the paper and a light area in middle . Some white clouds using tissue paper. A few pale blue mountains in the distance and a brown line covering the horizon line. Now there are some small dark trees from left to right hand side. Two lands one on each side with nice pastel colors. There is a small wall with tiny rocks on right hand side which creates nice contrast with land. There is a nice blue water between lands with tiny rocks on each side. Thank you Steven for sharing this lovely scene with great teachings and demos.

Dark small trees all across the paper and two lands on both sides with a variety of pastel colors. Really beautiful and looks so simple 😀.. Hope I'll be able to get similar effects...I like the idea of rubbing the wet paint at the bottom of the posts for shadows 😀 till the right bottom part of the grass was not painted, along the path, it looked like a wet road in the winters.. With reflections of the sky... Another angle 😀 thanks

    Hi Steven, Please can you help me? I got so inspired by your tutorials, I decided I wanted to do some large scale watercolour paintings, so I bought some 76 x 56cm sheets of watercolour paper, all ready to paint my masterpieces; only to realise that I dont have the right surface to paint them on! I dont have a huge table to lay them on. I dont have an easel to hold them. And I dont get how an easel is supposed to hold watercolour paper anyway -- they are made to hold canvas right? Paper isnt stiff so it would not stay stiff when you paint on it.
    So Im guessing I have to attach it to a canvas which I then slide into an easel and use the canvas as a stiff back for the paper? So I have two Qs: 1/ what kind of easel would you recommend for someone like me, just starting out, limited budget and limited studio space? I like painting at an angle so I'd need an easel which can tilt in all directions. Ideally it should fold flat for maximum space saving.
    2/ How would you recommend I attach the paper to the canvas/ board so that I dont damage it and can remove it easily?
    Id really appreciate your tips and advice here. Many thanks.

    • @StevenCronin
      @StevenCronin  Před 7 lety

      +safi456 you can use exactly the same set up that I have. If you look at my videos you will see I have a French easel that sits almost at 90° so that it makes videoing easier. Against that I lean a 9mm piece of plywood that I clip my watercolour paper too. All you need to do is go to your local Hardware Store and buy a piece of plywood that's the same size as the paper you want to use and then click the paper to it . Hope this helps. Let me know how you get on
