Good comment. At the end of the day, if it goes wrong, all it's cost you is a bit of paper, some piant, and a bit of time. Having said that, I've had an unfinished painting sitting on my board for months now because I'm scared to add the final touches, as I know Im going to cock it up!!🤣🤣

I agree. I try to point out to people that, first and foremost, this is supposed to be fun. If you concentrate more on the enjoyment aspect, you may not become bogged down in the fact that it may not be "perfect..." not that I think anyone has ever painted a perfect painting.

I do a mix, photos, other paintings and my own head all mixed into one painting. Never looks like anything I used for reference. I like letting the painting paint itself. Got a patch of white? Turn it into a highlight of a building

Perhaps you need a holiday or a short break Steven.😏One where you can take loads of photos and create new inspiring reference materials to work from. You certainly deserve one after all of the help and great advice you have given to others. Cotswolds, Derbyshire, Shropshire; even some seascapes at the seaside? I think you have a lot more inside you ready to come out☺
