It’s so important to spend time with God because the world will convince you about an unrealistic agenda when God has already set everything up in your life at specific times. Social media is made for the delusional because it feeds our fleshly desires. Its so easy to get caught up with what isn’t real

I’ve already divorced “consumerism” and I’m in the process of divorcing capitalism. I no longer desire “stuff” I desire freedom of time. The more stuff I have, the more I have to work to maintain it. Ask any of these “influencers” to reveal how much consumer DEBT they’re in trying to impress people who don’t matter. Not impressed.

I’m 35 and I’m so happy our generation missed this “friends and money “ era. I have REAL friendships of over 12- 15+ years and we have never bought each other gifts but when I need them they are there for the real things. I love this conversation.

I was actually doing some calculations within the U.S. we have and estimated population of 334 million. Only 18% of the U.S. population make 100,000 or more. Now when we calculate that means 334 million X 18% equal to around 60 million people who make over six figures, but if we want to find the average number of people who make less then six figures all we do is take 334 million - 60 million and we get 274 million. That means that 274 million people make less than one hundred thousand dollars a year. Social media is all about aesthetic people will present themselves as these business moguls or living lavish lifestyles and behind the scenes they be lying, and scamming people out they money.
Also consider how many people are above the age of 30 in the 18%, how many are men vs women and how many are on social media. Definitely people who are lying for sure. Or scamming like you said!
The too many opinions on social media on how I should conduct different aspects of life tend to silence my voice. For me to gain perspective, I often have to take a step back from the socials and spend time with myself to rediscover my thoughts on these issues. There’s just too much noise.
Yes! I am literally writing a blog on this now. So many people have so many opinions and there is too much unsolicited advice. Everything has become about "self"
