A&M stands for Agricultural & Mechanical. Most states have an A&M school, or the State school used to called A&M. Their original purpose was to teach agriculture and mechanics for farming, as opposed to the "normal" schools that taught teachers, and technical schools that taught engineers, but all types have grown into mostly teaching everything.

Might I suggest the Auburn Tigers for your fandom. The eagle comes from our Civil War time, and flew over the stadium against Georgia as we came back to win. Someone said "Look, it's a War Eagle", so we embraced it then

If you're looking for a tiger, LSU keeps a live one on campus. They used to bring it out and put it next to the visiting team's locker room before games. As for the Auburn, the War Eagle tradition started when a Civil War soldier found a dying eagle on the battlefield and nursed it back to health. He then became a professor at the University of Auburn where always he brought the eagle into his classroom. Then during the football game, the eagle broke free from its cage and started flying around the stadium. The tradition has stuck ever since.

You saw a clip of a SNL skit with Christopher Walken where he famously said, “I need more cowbell!” Hence the entire stadium is ringing cowbells. 😂😂😂

There's a cool video on that Iowa wave to the patients at the Children's hospital. It explains how it came to be and shows the kids waving back. It's worth reacting to. Keep up the great reactions!

During Texas A&M home games it is tradition that every student stands during the game. The entire game.

"Texas A&M is one of six national senior military colleges offering participation in military Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programs. With more than 145 years of cadet training and service to the nation, it is not surprising that Texas A&M is listed first on the United States Code, which established the senior military colleges in law." -Texas A&M Foundation

Texas A&M was originally named the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas. Now they are Texas A&M University. The official name has just the letters A and M, not the words.

I would highly recommend watching the Oklahoma/Texas game from earlier this season. One of the biggest rivalries and one of the closest/best games of recent memory. It was a real nail-biter to the last minute.

College game tickets are far more affordable than NFL so it’s easier to fill up the stadiums. Plus, the NFL teams are few and not always accessible to everyone. Mosts states have at least one college team and several have multiple teams making them available to the masses. Plus there’s a support your team atmosphere (from Pee Wee to elementary, middle, high school and through college) in the US that you won’t find anywhere else. We have adult leagues and camp teams. If you have enough of a group of people who love sports, you can form some kind of teams and leagues. It’s the American Way.

Do a stadium vid! For a point of reference, West Hams stadium would be tied for the 39th biggest college football stadium by capacity. The college stadiums usually aren’t as fancy NFL stadiums usually, but they are more historic and the atmosphere is almost always better!

Texas A&M used to be "The Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas." Now the A&M technically stands for nothing as the University has grown beyond its original mission.

You would like Big 10. It is "smash mouth football" it its running and tackling and stiff arming. It is in your face and all you see is SEC. If you want rugby and NFL just look at Michigan/vs/Ohio St.

You might wonder how a town of 50k fills a stadium of 70 or 80k every other week. There are strong fan bases of former students, current students & their families, plus there isn't much to do in a town of 50k anyway. 😁But most universities have to have a pretty bad year not to fill them up every home game.
