Came for the bad stadiums, stayed for the bad your mom jokes.
Came for the stadiums, came when I heard the jokes.
@@dtice69 ...in your mom!
I just want to take the time to appreciate all of the puns that were put together for Dix Stadium. I’m laughing my ass off over here!!!
I knew they were coming (no pun intended) and still made me laugh
by far my favorite 1 so far 😂😂😂
My track coach was a former EMU football player, he got arrested... for unpaid parking tickets. That's par for the course for the Eagles.
Dang, a top worst stadiums list that FedEx field won't be on 😢
Old Man: "Look at Ryan Field at Northwestern. What's missing?"
Me: Hazing?
Me: fans?
The most notable thing about Ryan Field is that it's frequently overwhelmed by visiting fans whenever Ohio State, Wisconsin, or Michigan play there XD
To be fair, Sam Houston is in their first year FBS and will be expanding the stadium to enclose the bowl, new press box, and remove the track. May be a few years to complete though. #EatEmUpKats
I didnt know that, Im excited to hear that
His comments on Dix Stadium killed me

Can't state still sucks dix
Hope the fans don't take it too hard
@@zchris87v80 YOU’RE A GENIUS LMAO
Holy shit. High tier writing. Nonstop South Carolina jokes.
Cajun Field in Lafayette is in fact getting rather massive renovations very shortly . Right after 2023 season. They are building new suites, club level, and an updated press box. It should be pretty nice!
I like the Georgia state stadium just cuz it keeps turner field alive. That's where the braves won the world series and Olympics happened
Georgia State’s football stadium is the stadium equivalent of stuffing your pet dog after they pass away.
@@jlyo1991 😭😭😭
The Braves never won the WS while at Turner Field, they won it in 95 while at the cavernous Fulton County Stadium
Bro you put MTSU in the "best small stadiums" video back then 😂
UAB won it's first conference title at MTSU's stadium, we had more fans than them at the game 🐉🔥
Five points triggered me because he talks trash about Legion Field our old stadium!
The mom jokes were top tier
Just like your mom
As a Troy alum I was intitially dumbfounded when I saw my home stadium on here, but then you mentioned the number of practice fields and yeah I'd have to agree 😂
I think the high school across the street from the stadium uses one of the practice fields as both they and Troy play at the stadium. But as for the other ones, I have no clue. It gets even more absurd when you realize that the band doesn't even use one of them (except on the Band Day morning rehearsal) as they have their own separate practice field across campus, and right below that practice field is a much larger intramurals field for things like flag football, rec soccer, and ultimate frisbee. It's kind of absurd.
The stadium itself though is pretty nice for a Sun Belt team, especially since they upgraded it and added the north endzone seating and athletics facility a few years back, which I guess hasn't been updated on Google Earth yet
yes it's not bad at all, but the practice fields down the slope were too odd not to include!
As a JSU Gamecock alum, I would like to retort with a 😂.
Seriously though, now that we’re FBS, we need to renew the rivalry.
@@jlyo1991 I'll definitely buy a game ticket if the rivalry gets renewed. I would love to actually be able to yell "Whup Jax State" at a football game. Don't be surprised if it takes a while though. Our rivalry with Middle Tennessee, for example, had an eight year hiatus - likely due to them moving from the Sun Belt to C-USA - until we played them twice in 2020. I won't be shocked if it takes years for Troy and Jax St. to meet again, but I'll be first in line to buy a ticket when they do
as someone who's been on the sidelines with the visiting team that walk from the visitor's locker room around the back of the new end zone project stinks though
@@FivePointsVids my question is did you actually visit them or just google searched them?
6:26-6:55 might be the funniest moment in the history of this channel, oh my God 😂😂😂😂😂
Five, I think you need some updated pictures. I work at Troy (in the building connected to the stadium), and I think you're using pics from before the latest renovations. The stadium is now closed in. There's a big Jumbotron in the newly closed in side and some smaller screens on the opposite end. We do have a lot of practice fields, but with how much rain we get, it guarantees one of them won't be flooded. And we are in talks to get an indoor facility in the coming years
Fun fact: Rynearson Stadium actually hosted a pro team very briefly - the 1974 WFL Detroit Wheels (who folded about three-quarters of the way through that season).
One of the worst leagues ever
Underrated team with QB Mitch Ryder at the helm.
alternative title: Critiquing the WORST FPV your mom jokes
Always a great day when we get a stadium video, bud
I live 10 minutes from MTSU. Although the stadium is a lot older and not in the best condition, it still does its purpose. I have no complaints
As someone who has marched on that field it definitely helps block the sun because it was a very sunny day, but it's so freaking high that for a set I nearly fell over because of how high it is 😅
Cajun field is actually undergoing major renovations soon and will be renamed Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium. The renderings looks great
“Dix Stadium erected in 1969” 😂😂😂
The crown jewel of the MAC…..when the Glass Bowl and Waldo Stadium exist…..
How UB Stadium (Buffalo NY) didn't make this list is crazy when you consider everything going against it (Bad weather, few students at most games, a track around the field, and the Bills 30 mins away).
they redid the end zone - it almost made it but it looks much better now
Let me preface this by mentioning I mean this as a joke
I think five points is afraid that Khalil Mack will come after him if he does
A riff on Dix and well placed “yo mama” jokes-your best video yet!
Cajun Field actually does have renovations planned in the next few years. Tearing down the ugly upper deck and replacing it with new football offices, press box, and suites. Capacity is going to end up dropping down almost 10k. Word is cost is north of $65 million. Hopefully they make the hill symmetrical too
They voted to approve it today, and they got rid of the hill a few years ago so I don’t think they will bring it back lol
Good news!
@official The north hill is still there and not going anywhere. They bowled in the south hill a decade ago
I can't wait for USC to come and play at Northwestern 💀
Troy doesn’t have the update renovations in the video. It’s actually pretty nice for their school size now. Got a game in right before the pandemic, pleasantly surprised with how nice it actually was.
yea the stadium shown in the vid is pretty outdated
I played at Bowers in Huntsville a couple of times in HS during the early-to-mid 2000s when they still had the old school carpet AstroTurf. Felt like a scratchy, thin rug laid straight onto concrete. Screw that place.
There's a reason Expos great Andre Dawson blames Astroturf for worsening the arthritis that cut short his baseball career.
I used to work for their athletic department's AV crew and in the late 2000s, about a year or two before they were turning into the team that would lose to North Dakota State in the playoffs almost every year. The high school games were usually more entertaining than the college games back then and the attendance was definitely better.
@@bigbearkat2010this is a weird comment. I’m not saying Bowers is fit for D1 but you can’t say the product on the field has been bad. The last 12 years of Bearkat football has been fantastic. We are lucky to experience it.
@@CalvinDBlair the last 12 years have been great. My time over there sadly were the few years before that though and admittedly I forgot to mention that entertaining games I was referring to were the high school playoff games the stadium hosted. My favorite was a state semifinal, there double digit comeback and fourth and goal defensive stand. Even the regular Huntsville High games though had better attendance than Bearkat games at that time though.
I do think the renovations Bowers is gonna go through should put it in the Meh to ok this is actually pretty good (especially if they keep the eye sore of a track)
As a Sam Houston alum, I have to admit that even though I don't really hear anybody talk about Bowers, I still strongly suspected it would make this video, especially as someone who attended and even worked games in that stadium.
I was surprised that Sam Houston's stadium made the list. Not because it wasn't deserving. It is. But because the author actually knew of its existence in FBS.
Northern Illinois still hasn’t made a single list, good or bad, for D1 stadiums.
Huskie Stadium must just be mid
It's... fine. A standard football stadium that's had a good enough amount of upkeep done to it.
The UMass stadium concessions being upfront is smart. That way you don't miss a snap
As a UMass fan, not like you're missing much if you miss a snap lol
We beat NM state tho
@@ogorangeduck the idea is good though lol
MTSU is actually currently knocking down that upper deck on that north endzone. The new athletic center is being built from the ground up in the same area as where that deck used to be.
I'm pretty sure they added the extra seats in the 90s when they jumped to D1. Back then D1 required a 30,000 seat capacity.
@@edwardelgar yeah makes sense. I'm glad they are fixing it.
I graduated from Sam Houston and I can tell you about 5 people on average passed out at those games at Bowers from the heat
I used to work over in Monroe all the time…that stadium might be the goofiest looking structure I’ve ever seen.
Dix Stadium
>erected in 1969
I see what you did there, may your dad jokes never die
Does it often get wet? 😂😉😏
san jose state should have been on this list. They have no seats on the long side of the field
Cajun field announced renovations to be completed by 2026 or so. They’ll be replacing the current dollar general shaped press box along with most of the upper deck.
Funny enough troy actually has one of the nicest group of 5 stadiums since the renovations and upgrades the shot you used was from 5 years ago so yea it didn’t look great but now it’s a very nice stadium along with new turf they installed last season
Surprised San Jose State University’s stadium didn’t make it on here
I went to a YSU game at Kent in the 90s. Had to park in a pumpkin patch and the visitor stands were made of wood and would sway when the wind blew. So sadly it looks like they improved.
Dude your Troy shot is from like 5 6 years ago the Stadium got a expansion and the practice facilities has gotten way better. Plus the multiple fields are for space plus theirs a highschool Charles Henderson High across the road like literally across the road that uses the stadium for their games and one of those fields is their practice field.
I clicked on this video wondering if my alma mater would be mentioned and sure enough they were the very first one lmao. The Jayhawks have never really been known for football, but they at least seem to be back on the right track with a coach that finally won more than 3 games in a season, and that planned new stadium will go nicely along the newly opened practice and training facilities.
You had me dying with Kent🤣
I see Kent in the thumbnail... oh boy.
You know a mattress is good if the dog yawns when he's laying on it. If it's Dog approved, then it's just for you.
Prior to Billy Napier’s departure, there were talks between ULL and the City of Lafayette, LA to renovate/rebuild Cajun Field.
Google maps needs an update for Troy, the new renovations really fixed the stadium. Never knew we had that many practice fields before though
As a south Alabama fan having the vet in here and NEVER mentioning Ladd Peebles in any of your videos is an actual sin
Wait, FivePoints got divorced?
Hope it went well for all involved.
Fun fact about Dix Stadium. The away side of the stands is not the away side. It's the student section. We fill it up on weekend games leaving no room when the student section should be in the end zone, but it gets used primarily by the band. Almost nobody sits there other than the band.
That must be a new thing. We sat in the end zone and tore the goalposts down....after a win over 2x defending 1-AA champion YSU. LOL. The MACC freaking rocks during basketball games, though. Ride or die, Flashes.
@@HandsOfSweed basketball games are definitely more fun. The akron game was so loud
@@HandsOfSweed”new” as of 2003. The visitors now sit in the front corner of the west or “home” stands.
Great vid 5pv! Always brightens my day seeing your content
Glad you enjoy it!
I bet you Vanderbilt and temple are gonna be on here
newp
Looking forward to the D1 FCS video where you roast my school for playing in a soccor stadium.
Wow, I never realized Georgia state played at turner field. I remember walking around it as a child before the Olympics before it was turned into the Braves stadium and then I guess Georgia State who would know I’ve never watched one of their games and I watch a lot of college football emphasis on A LOT
My bias up front, I'm an Ohio alum which I'm sure is in large part why I take offense to Peden Stadium being on this list. But for being a MAC stadium I think it's perfect. It's in a perfect locations for students, when you live on campus it's max a 15 min walk away(like 5 if you live on west green). It's not oversized for the audience it pulls(like Akron) or patch worked together(like Kent, thank you for at least putting them lower). Peden isn't "incomplete", it was originally built when the horseshoe design was really popular for college stadiums nationwide. In the early 2000's they looked into closing in the stadium but because it's flanked by the Hocking River on the south side, the ground was deemed not structurally sound enough for the weight to extend the stadium. But it doesn't need to be closed in, it's fine as is and it's fun to have the viewing hill on the south side of the stadium. It's loved by student's and locals alike. I understand if someone were to look at it and say "meh, it's not my personal taste"...but by no stretch of the imagination is at one of the worst D1 stadiums...
I’ve been to every Mac stadium except NIU and I think Peden Stadium is better than most in its conference. Akron, Toledo, and Western are the best IMO, and Miami of Ohio, Buffalo, and Central are my least favorite.
@@AlligatorArms Nice(a little jealous lol) I’ve only made it to games at like half of them, gotta love some MACtion. To clarify I’m not hating on Akron’s stadium, it’s really nice. I just find it funny that it was built to seats 30k, which in my opinion is comically too many seats for Akron football to ever need.
It’s about time we got another stadium critique video!
I’ve been to so many games at Vanderbilt. It’s sad
As an Ohio alum I’m not surprised to Peden on the list but the stadium is named after longtime coach Don Peden has the most wins as a football coach at OU and coached baseball at the same time he coached football and was even the AD of the school.
I’ve been to MTSU’s football stadium once and it does look a bit janky. Even though Murfreesboro is a booming city, and MTSU’s record has been improving with 2 consecutive bowl game wins, no one really wants to go there.
(It might be because no one wants to fry or freeze their asses on the completely unprotected bleachers.)
It’s getting a renovation. They moved up to d1 when u still had to have more than 30,000 seats. Which is why it looks so dumb in the upper deck.
Troy’s stadium is very updated, including a complete renovation and upgraded field
I think it would be pretty cool for you to check out some interesting international College sports stadiums and arenas. Canada has a bunch btw.
This video is how I learned Sam Houston is FBS now
Dix stadium references were pure gold. Hard not to laugh 😅
I can't believe Wallace Wade Stadium keeps escaping these lists. Even after the 2014 renovations, it's still an atrocious place to watch football
Love the stadium vids
The Kent State one😂😂😂
Bro I was in a marching band competition at Johnny Red Floyd. The Turf was terrible and bald and the bleachers hurt my buns. The Band of Blue is the crown gem of middle Tennessee
Yo MTSU’s stadium is actually good in person, at least for a group of 5 school. The only sucky thing is the attendance 😂
As Eastern Michigan alumni... yeah.
FirstBank in Nashville for Vandy was easily one of the worst out there. Thank GOD it's finally getting renovated.
Lmao UL lafayette announced TODAY that they’re tearing down the upper deck and rebuilding a new one
Troy built a new north endzone section in 2019… it looks a lot better now.
Troy's has been updated from this. But yeah, no clue why we need a million practice fields. I've also seen them practicing in the stadium.
How did Vandy or Missouri not make make the list. 😂
Will there be stadium vids that does conferences?
I happened to be in Monroe a couple weeks ago. All of their athletics facilities’ gates were wide open. That stadium is one of the weirdest pieces of architecture I’ve ever laid eyes on
My man roasted a team that won a bowl game. Don’t think dude realizes how insanely hard that is
Love your videos! If and when possible, a worst of the FCS stadiums would be pretty neat. I could imagine a little harder to find some of them, but I've been to some pretty dumpy D1 schools football stadiums
Troy's stadium has been renovated and expanded. Actually looks a lot better these days. They've enclosed the stadium. Those small practice fields are gone now. Been gone for a few years. Rare FivePoints L lol
Being the fans of asymmetry that y'all are, it's a bit surprising there was no mention of Bobby Dodd stadium in Atlanta - particularly since they have reduced capacity at least twice since the 1980s
I was the electrical engineer on the Kent State stadium upgrades a decade ago. It was the new scoreboard and concession stand below it and new entrance gates on each side. The upgrades were due to the fact that ESPN was going to televise a game there the year after and they needed to upgrade the power and video for a national broadcast and all of ESPN’s trucks. We also upgraded the varsity lounge and some smaller concession stands.
Cajun field does have plans for renovation starting after this season
You forgot to mention the section in the northeast corner of Ryan Field that actually face away from the field.
Please tell me Tarleton State University made the list. They just bumped up to D1 and shared the field with the local HS and the road to the stadium is trashed.
Nice view of downtown Richmond. So much nicer than suburban hellscape of Phoenix’s East Valley I have to endure (except for the occasional mountain)
Was honestly expecting to see Martin Stadium on the list. You know that there are reasons nobody wanted Wazzu for their conference expansion.
Also, it's a good thing Idaho fled back to FCS, because the Kibbie Dome (news flash
..it's NOT a dome) would have topped this list.
These are my fav videos you make
I live near Troy and I have gone to some of their games before and they have built a north end zone facility and they have those extra fields when they host 7on7 tournaments.
I went to Kent St and they had plans to move campus towards the foot all stadium, but ended up moving towards the town of Kent instead
I attend MTSU, they're removing a portion of that upper level and replacing it with like a mazzive locker room/team store thing? It is still under constructuion and the first home game is in like 2 weeks 😭. We aren't good obviously, but the stadium isn't half bad, it gets the job done for games . But hey, Reed Blankenship and Kevin Byard are alumni, as well as some others who were on the Cheifs and Rams superbowl teams!
There’s tough, then there’s attending a cold and windy Thursday night November after a day of exams game in the MAC. I swear all of the MAC stadiums are built to give us all windburn. Gotta love the MACtion
Should do best small D1 FBS stadiums... for example, Williams Stadium in Lynchburg
In Troys defense they did just upgrade their stadium and it’s actually not bad for a small stadium.
The Dix jokes were hilarious!
Let’s go! I live for bad stadiums videos 😂
These old stadiums bring out the nostalgia though.
Ragin Cajuns are actually planning for renovations starting next year
4 Sun Belt schools on this list. Makes CCU and the Teal Turf look immaculate in comparison.
A stadium that isn’t getting renovations any time soon that needs it is SECU Stadium for my Maryland Terps. They call it “The Shell” but the seating doesn’t even wrap all the way around the field. It’s a classic case of somebody trying to be too smart and mess up what should be really simple.
Eh Ohio’s didn’t really deserve to be here imo. Looks nice compared to most MAC and Conference USA stadiums
