College football has a boatload of traditions. One of my favorites is the University of Iowaâs. The childrenâs hospital is right by the stadium and they get to watch the game. During the game the whole stadium turns and waves at the kids watching.
Yeah I don't even like Iowa and I think that's one of the coolest things ever
Omg my heart. That's so wholesome.
THAT IS FUCKING AWESOME HELL YEAH!!!!!!đ
George Kittle babyyyyy!!!!!!
If you want another ravilry try Tennessee and Florida
College football in the US is like no other. There is an element of regional pride, University pride, and the pageantry is amazing. The band, the fight song, the traditions. Canât beat it
The atmosphere at college games looks awesome
College football is as close as American sports gets to the local pride of European football.
College football is our true national sport
@@kabirconsiders be very careful, College football is also one of the most corrupt sports in the world on par with the likes of FIFA and the Olympics.
1. The NCAA makes rules for players to make it impossible for them to make any money whatsoever. They canât sell their own names, they canât make highlight reels of their performance in fact they canât even take paid internships FOR THEIR DEGREE while their on sports team.
2. There 10 conferences in this sport yet only 4 conferences are ever able to make âplayoffsâ. It doesnât matter if teams from these other conferences go undefeated. About a decade ago, a team from of the outside conferences went undefeated 3 consecutive years AND STILL DIDNT MAKE IT.
Name a single sport in your country where undefeated teams donât make the playoffs or a championship... happens all the time is this sport
3. The is a long history of significant corruption from major schools, well it be paying players under the table, purposefully trying to get other teams banned, forbidding good teams from joining your conference.
One program got literally banned from the sport for 5 years, yet the same shit they did every major money making program does today and constantly gets no repercussions from it.
4. This sport has literally been sued by 5 state governments and the US federal government 3 TIMES for violating anti-corruption and anti-trust laws.
5. The penalties against programs are significantly different. Literally one football program was found housing a coach that literally raped kids for decades. They got a less stiff penalty than a team paying players. Like wtf....
Same thing happened to another team, where the program literally covered up physical and sexual abuse caused by their players against other students, even less of a penalty.
This last year LSU was found guilty of paying players, they only got docked the ability to play in the offseason. Course they already never won a game up to that point so it wouldnât have mattered anyways. It so bad....
It is horrifically fucked up....
Naw World Cup, college football is a great domestic sport.
When you were paused over the University of Michigan stadium, that's the Big House, seating capacity is a little over 107K, but they've had crowds over 115K. That's about an hour from me. They missed a few epic traditions here because these were just entrances. Auburn releases an Eagle from the top of the stands, and as it flies around the stadium they continue the War Eagle chant until it lands at midfield. Colorado is led out of the tunnel by a 1600+ pound Buffalo at a full charge. At the end of every West Virginia game the whole crowd sings Country Road together. There are tons of awesome college traditions.
Yeah. Just trying to go to Meijers in Ann Arbor (Michigan) on a home game day was a true adventure.
And Iâve been to 4 Auburn home games and have missed the War Eagle flying around every time.
@@jdsteppenzyde That sucks. The War Eagle would have been a big part of why I would want to go.
If you do a part 2, definitely get Ralphie the Buffalo
@@jdsteppenzyde I live right on the border between Michigan and Ohio and this town goes CRAZY on game day. It's an experience. :)
The crowd at Lane Stadium (Virginia Tech) has actually registered on the Richter Scale a few times. The stone they touch as the leave the tunnel is known as Hokies Stone and is locally quarried limestone that makes up the distinctive look of most of the buildings on campus.
Thanks for answering my questions Frankie! Iâd love to be at a game where the the noise/tremors register in the Richter scale. I bet the atmosphere is off the chain!
@@kabirconsiders The atmosphere for a night game in Lane Stadium is one of the best in America. Compared to other stadiums itâs fairly small, seating along around 67k but it makes the noise of 100k+

Years ago the British and other Europeans saw these types of displays as typical American over the top tackiness. Now most of the world sees it for what it really is: An exciting display of fun, pageantry, and showmanship.
The people who hated on it were boring old buzzkills
Like you said... tackiness.
He needs to see Army-Navy it is a life-changing event to watch especially the opening introduction video., once you watch one you will understand why the game is considered legendary in this country
Meh football but it is the best college game. Always love the game. Beat navy
Read John Feinsteins "A civil war" great book
If you enjoy watching the Army-Navy game you would like getting to march in.
The only game where everyone on the field would lay down their lives for everyone in the stands
Because the US is so large, and there are only 32 professional teams in the US (not even one in each state) and they're usually in the largest cities, the closest a lot of regions of the country come to professional level football is NCAA football. So the fans are incredibly enthusiastic. It's about geographic identity and identity with one's alma mater.
That "thing" at Clemson is Howard's Rock. It was a gift from a former player to long time coach Frank Howard. Since Clemson's stadium is called Death Valley, the rock was taken from the death valley dessert. Frank used it as a door stop for years until they were on a losing streak. The rock was eventually placed at the top of the hill going into the stadium and Frank used to say anyone that didn't want to give 110% needed to their damned hands off my rock."
As a South Carolina Fan. My hate for Clemson matches my Respect. South Carolina doesnât have any professional teams so youâre either a Clemson Fan or a South Carolina fan and the passion and tradition is unreal.
@@johnmole17 well technically the panthers is for north and South Carolina but I get what you mean
Or you were transplanted here and bleed red & black for Georgia's DAWGS!!!! Damn Good Dawg!!!
@@robinaddis-vaughn7271 whatever the f*ck thatâs supposed to mean and Georgia isnât half as good as Alabama and they gonna get smacked by Michigan!! đđđ
@@johnmole17 Well, we beat the shit out of Clemson and Alabama lost its #1 ranking to GEORGIA at least for a while, thus I'm a happy DAWG! My parents moved me to Seneca, SC, from my birthplace when I was 10 and I never let them forget it, bless their hearts. I miss them. Daddy will be pulling for the DAWGS and have the best seats in the house. And, if we play like we did against Bama 2/3 weeks ago, then you're correct, Michigan will win. But, if we play like we did every f**king game beforehand, we'll be NATIONAL CHAMPIONS AGAIN! It's been way too long!
Because everything Americans do, is a competition. From grade school to college, and all throughout life, you have school pride built on competition in sports and academics. That pride stays with you forever. Americans NEVER stop rooting for their college team. They may lose interest, but they never change sides.
It really is great to see, that passion
@@kabirconsiders Another factor is that these schools go way back and aren't going anywhere, whereas your pro team might move 1,000 miles away, then move back to your city 20 years later like, "Are we still cool?" By then a lot of the fans started rooting for someone else out of bitterness. I think the passion is strongest in the south, where they live by the 4 F motto: "Faith, Family, Food, and Football (college, not pro). Cheers!
The Michigan stadium with the âgo blueâ stuff holds over 110,000 people itâs the third largest stadium in the world. Iâve been to a couple games and itâs unreal how big the stadium is
The biggest stadium Iâve been to is Wembley and thatâs only 90k. I canât imagine what being among 110k fans must be like!
They don't call it "The Big House" for nothing.
And that's after they took out like 7,000 seats
I still have no idea how Michigan is not a top 10 team every year. So much money, brain power, fan support. Makes no sense. I assume it's like South Carolina, where the board of trustees are all political appointments (aka favors) or something similar.
@@bairdbiz Itâs all on the coaching

Howardâs Rock! The stadium is called Death Valley and Howardâs rock is a rock that brought from the real Death Valley
The âmost exciting 25 seconds in college footballâ is the most overhyped entrance ever. All you do is touch a rock, run down a hill and release a couple hundred balloons. I could go to any holiday parade ever and see the exact same thing. It doesnât compare to Va Tech, Bama, S Car, FSU, A&M or anyone honestly. I had such an urge to eat Dreamsicles(orange with vanilla ice cream filling) while there for the entire game!! BTW : was told Rocky Top Mountain is actually in West Virginia. Is that true? I don't know . The guy that told me that didn't have any teeth so it was hard for me to understand what he was mumbling about.
Go Vols!!
GO VOLS
To explain Clemson's entrance. They had a coach back in the day named Frank Howard. He went on a offseason trip to Death Valley, California and brought home a rock from there (by law you can't do that anymore) and showed his players the rock. They had a terrible season prior and he told his players that if they don't want to win, they can't touch his rock. Now its part of the entrance tradition to touch "Howard's Rock" as they come to the field for good luck.
The thing Clemson touches before entering the stadium is a rock from Death Valley, California, because I believe the nickname for Clemson's stadium is Death Valley.
Yup. You can actually walk up to the gate outside the stadium and see it right there on the other side.
Awesome, thanks for answering my question mate!
It's called Howard's Rock and is a sign of good luck I think.
Yeah they call Clemson's stadium Death Valley I live about 2 hours from there but I'm a North Carolina Tarheels fan!
It is called Howardâs Rock named after Coach Frank Howard. A friend brought the rock to the coach as a souvenir from the friendâs vacation in Death Valley. At the time Clemsonâs football stadium was nicknamed Death Valley. Before one of his gameâs Coach Howard used the rock to inspire his team by saying to âonly touch the rock if they were going to give him 110%â for that game that day. The team all touched the rock and went on to win the game. Since then it has been used as inspiration and tradition to touch Howardâs Rock before each home game.
The thing that clemson touched coming out of the entrance was a rock
It's called 'Howards Rock'. It was given as a gift to coach Howard from Death Valley California. It was used as a doorstop until 1966 when coach Howard was cleaning his office and asked someone to throw it out. So basically they are rubbing some trash Coach Howard didn't want.

Another thing about techs entrance is that it's different now than it was in the video he watched. They play more of Enter Sandman, they don't cut it off right before the singing starts. Just like Alabama's. Hmmmmm
Iâve been to a Virginia tech game and man that stadium shakes ⊠and add a F-18 fly over đ„¶
I need to experience this!
The best part of Nebraskaâs tunnel walk is the highlights along with showing them come through
I live in Nebraska but grew up in Oklahoma, so I am a Sooners fan. That tunnel walk is pretty intense, or it was when they were doing a little better. My favorite tunnel walk was in the one spring game when Bo Pelini came out holding a cat because of that meme that got started about him.

âEnter Sandman is a BANGER of a songâ
Itâs awesome đ
Best entrance in football
Although professional sports do get hyped up they can't compete with the atmosphere of college sports. The college sports atmosphere is just crazy.
College Football fans are more passionate because of the rivalryâs. Supporting your state and team makes it more fun and entertaining. The traditions are awesome like Clemons running down the hill and touching Howardâs rock (the thing they touched at the beginning of the video), WVU singing country roads after a win, and VT Hookies entrance. And the bands playing too is great too. The capacity of Michigan is 107,601 btw.
Your spot on about the passion/ tradition of college football. Im a lifelong Michigan fan & when they lose it affects my mood greatly
When you really love a sports team itâs sucks how their performance can dictate your emotions and mood
Go blue! Hopefully we will have a lot more good moments than bad soon.
Fun fact, because you brought up the richter scale. As of August 2018, 6 college football games measured on the richter scale..... 4 were at virginia tech (the school shown when you said it). I know they've done it at least once more since then. Best entrance in college football and its not even close
I'd imagine Jump Around in Madison would have to register
Texas vs Oklahoma is another really big one.
Yes sir BOOMER!!! THAT AND WHEN WE PLAY OUR STEP SISTERS OKLAHOMA STATE
Man I'm a lifelong Hokie fan and it's amazing to see you react to Enter Sandman. Hokie Stone is a rock that is mined from a quarry in Blacksburg, VA. Lane Stadium holds 65,000 and its almost always sold out. The entire stadium shakes, it's absolutely amazing.
I live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The epicenter of college football. You hit me up if you want to attend a big game. I've got the hook on tickets and I live walking distance from the stadium. It's even more intense and beautiful than you think. We absolutely live and die with the Tide.
Thanks mate Iâll remember this when Iâm in there US next!
I know many Bama fans even some of those who were cheerleaders and they all say Bama games are so boring because they know they will always win...Honestly had a former Bama cheerleader at the 2019 White Out that told me she had NEVER seen or hear anything in the SEC to compare to the White Out! Along with an OSU fan that came to see Michigan(Harbaugh embarrassed again) that their ears hurt from the all the screaming!! They were even screaming by the end of it and they just came to see IT in person. LOL It's one of those CFB pilgrimages you just have to do. Like a Rose Bowl, Iron Bowl, Texas Highschool All-star championship game (otherwise called the Red River Rivalry, both TX and OK will be mostly all Texas players), Apple Bowl (take the boat to the stadium and tailgate on the water before the game), ND State vs JMU (D1aa has some awesome football yet),
@@kabirconsiders Only a DM away dude. I'm not a serial killer btw.
There are so many cool traditions. So many stadiums. I recommend that you visit as many as possible.
This made my day better lol I just subbed
Request would be college football moments/images of the Decade (2000-2009 and 2010-2019)!
Thanks mate âșïž Iâll put it on my list!
@@kabirconsiders cheers!
While I despise Florida State (the team with Osceola), I do admit their pregame show is pretty sick. Videos donât quite do it justice but being at a Florida Gator game live is the most electrifying event iâve ever been to.. and I watched my NHL team won the stanley cup
Wish they had included Colorado players running onto the field behind a buffalo.
Yeah someone else mentioned this, I was surprised not to see this either
Not just a buffalo his name is ralphie
University of Texas has Bevo, a longhorn steer they'll run on the field before games.
The atmosphere for college sports of all kind is on another level compared to the pros.
Also, the things the teams and players all touch before they entered they actual stadium⊠every college and team has their own that represents the college and is a tradition, many different objects and traditions per college.
I like to touch girls before entering the stadium....but so does Joe Biden wherever he goes....so I guess that's not a big deal anymore.
The attendance of Michiganâs is 107,000+. Itâs called âThe Big Houseâ
Very big indeed đł 107k!!
@@kabirconsiders they fit 111,000 in it once so yeah its the biggest football stadium in the world

There was 3 night games at Michigan Stadium with Hoke as the coach and the uniform combination is from the 2013 game vs N.D.
109,901 actually
@@sodapopkidd that's the capacity. However, I was wrong, it's more. It was 115,109.

We drive WW2 jeeps for the Military Bowl in Annapolis Maryland every year. We have had the VT Hokies twice. The first time we ended up with the Hokie Bird mascot with us. It was nuts, as I was driving he's trying to keep balanced using my helmet and the Alumni were going nuts. The energy is truly uncomprehendable when in among it. We drive in this parade every year.
Wow, I bet you can remember pretty much every parade youâve drove in, unforgettable moments
alabama had LED lights installed in their stadium and now their night game entrance is incredible
Seeing that in person must be so cool
If I remember right Georgia was the first to do it tho
I get goose bumps ever time I at a Holies home game. Season ticket hold for years
That chant for Florida state is called the War chant. It was a battle cry for the Seminole Indians before battle. I've been to that stadium many times. 1 time in preticluar was against NC State in 03 when the game went into triple overtime! It was a absolute blast! Love the videos!
Not a VT fan by any means, but, they have the most badass entry.
Clemson touched whatâs called Howardâs rock. Itâs a super electric entrance.
I need to witness it in person ASAP!
I was in Neyland stadium yesterday them running through the power T is so awesomeee
You are awesome. Love your reactions..!!!
Thanks Gerry :)
Check out Script Ohio, the sousaphonist who gets to dot the i, and the legends who are the only non-band members to dot the i. Ohio State-Michigan IS the greatest rivalry in sport.

Its not a rivalry lmao. Rivalries are competitive.

@@yungshaqtusvii8556 oof... but right
In my opinion, you're absolutely right to like the college game more than the pro. The NFL might make more money, spend more money, and attract more eye balls, but college football fans are definitely more passionate. There's so much more pageantry, tradition, and rivalry in the college game. In fact, rivalries barely exist in American professional sports anymore, although they used to (see Yankees vs Red Sox or Red Wings vs Avalanche). College football teams can often fill stadiums even when they haven't been very competitive for a while (see Michigan, Nebraska, Tennessee, etc), but the pros and other college sports cannot
The atmosphere at a college tailgate and game is just better than a pro game, but with pro ball it's just better quality football so it's a trade off either way.
Really cool video! Interesting to hear someoneâs opinion from another country on American college football. Being a former Clemson student, I obviously have a bias as to which is my favorite but you canât go wrong with seeing any of these in person.
Thanks mate :) Iâm really enjoying learning about college football, I definitely prefer it to the professional game
the florida state video cut off before the planting the flaming spear at the 50 yard line, that's the climax of the whole entrance
I need to see a vid of that
They missed the planting of the spear on the 50 yd line by Osceola on Renegade. A classic at FSU.
The. Best part of the Clemson one you didnât see! The crowd all Hollars and chants C L E M S O N and it BOOMS! You can feel the sound wave hit you! You HAVE to go to A Clemson game in Death Valley! Also the best part of that VT game where they played Clemson was when Clemson absolutely WAXED them! It was a really fun game to watch if youâre a Clemson fan
I need to see a vid of that!
A must see is the Army Navy game! The spectacle of the cadets and the history is incredible.
You need to react to Texas a&m I can tell you this that place is crazy
I was a bit surprised that Ralphie leading Colorado out wasnât in his video.
It was fun even without that, though.
The University of Tennessee Neyland stadium and the big house in Michigan go back-and-forth for the most capacity Michigan currently holds it. Fun fact when Neyland stadium fills up itâs the six largest city in Tennessee
Thatâs crazy! All those people packed into that stadium must make for quite an atmosphere
@@kabirconsiders The cool thing about the big house. Is it half the stadium is below sea level or below the ground sorry. When you enter the stadium from the parking area youâre actually about halfway up the stadium
@@aaronlape2870 another way of saying, its nothing but a giant hole in the ground.
@@jeffburdick869 That must mean youâre an Ohio State fan LOL
@@aaronlape2870 not at all. But I hope UT expands Neyland so those losers will stop bragging about how the big hole is the biggest stadium.
Georgia Florida game in Jacksonville is a few days of drinking and partying. Itâs pretty fun!
The thing at the beginning is Howardâs rock. One of the coaches back in the last 20th century got it as a gift from someone who visited the desert out west. It sat in the coaches office for a long time before being placed in the stadium
VA Tech's Enter Sandman entrance is my #1. I'm biased because Metallica's my fave musical artist, but I truly do think that the Hokies do the best job with their entrance.
Metallica are awesome đ
I love hearing Metallica in college football stadiums. Back in Black always gets played sometime during a South Carolina game.
I didnât go to a big school, but it was the only four year university in the state (Wyoming) and I still get chills thinking about some of the entrances to Bon Joviâs âWanted Dead or Aliveâ. There is something indescribable about being there in person with everyone waiting with anticipation for the exact same thing. There are so few people in Wyoming that when the stadium is full it is equivalent in population to the stateâs third largest city.
Wow, it really sounds like one of those events that youâll never forget. All those people, all that energy..
Wyoming Cowboys!

I'm a Florida State University (FSU) alum. Great experience and I was there in the late 80s to early 90s. Football games were AMAZING! The War Chant could be heard all over.
Clemson as the opener for the video = instant win. Being there for games is one of the most amazing experiences on earth. If you were here during the season I would gladly take you to a game so you could feel the atmosphere with 81,000 fans going crazy.
