I really hope they are allowing cheating to gather data for VAC live or something. If not Faceit will be the main way to play the game again.

Even if valve had an anticheat, which they dont. All the good players are on faceit, unless you like casual bot gameplay theres no other way to play
There is no reason for Faceit to exist, other than valve's incompetence in terms of anticheat and matchmaking
Valorant doesn't have any faceit equivalent and nobody needs or asks for it there either

I am not a cheater, but I still don't like kernal level anti cheats... I would rather play a CSGO like MM experience where I might find cheaters sometimes, than installing yet another NSA spyware.... I don't mind government spying on me for security conserns, but that's not my government and has no right to spy on me...
All my excitement for cs 2 is gone now for me. Whats the point of cs 2 if it does not fix the very fundamental issue of csgo? People consistently for years been complaining about mm as a whole with two primary concerns (cheating and tickrate). Literally neither issues were tackled at all by the looks of it, I am hoping to be proven horribly wrong ofc as cs 2 itself is quite a breath of fresh air but if they dont fix the cheating and getting 128 tick servers (that subtick thing is nonsense, it still running on 64 tick servers), might as well just kept csgo and not bothered

People say "oh but faceit will still exist", the point is that if it were to make the game just heavier, with more performance issues, completely change the gameplay, and remain with the 2 biggest problems you mentioned, it would be It was better to have done nothing and leave everything as it was.

Last night on csgo i met 2 teams that had cheaters in a 3 game span.
It's normal. They stopped paying the third party company who takes care of this. They also removed the overwatch feature. CSGO is the Wild West at this moment.

I feel to play competitive Valve should require you to install a more intrusive Anti-Cheat. Players can still play casual or death match without.
The player named Venom 026, who is currently at the top of the world leaderboard played with rustic and he cheats as well. Came in my opponent, he didn't start wallhacks until late rounds but one of his teammate was doing it from the start, that guy got banned but Venom is still there

Because making a decent anti cheat means an intrusive one (like valorant) which many brain deads in the community doesnt feel is good and then play Faceit which has the same type of anti cheat
Valve is a pretty small company. They have something like 200-400 programmers doing it all. Maintaining Steam (the new in-game overlay, steam friends, the market, features for video game makers that want to sell on Steam, the client itself, etc.), making video games, updating VAC, Updating the Steam Deck, updating their virtual reality thing, and whatever else they do. The company also has, on the surface, a structureless chain of command with zero managers. People basically come up with their own ideas or follow the ideas of others and get whatever they want done. This can be good for some innovation, but realistically, you've got a smart developer sitting there, and they know they will make a tremendous bonus if they generate a lot of new profit for Valve. Working on an anticheat doesn't change much since CS already generates shit tons of profit, and the people who play it are going to play it regardless. So they work on different projects, trying to secure their big bonuses. I say the chain of command is structureless on the surface, because naturally, some people come up with the ideas and others work on them.
Anyhow, throw into the picture that working on catching public pay cheats is a tremendous pain in the ass from the perspective of a programmer. To catch one of these things, you've got to do what is known as reverse engineering. These cheats do things like stream the executable to cheaters encrypted each time they want to use it, and they code up their own detection of people trying to dump the code and analyze it, instantly banning people who try to do that. So to begin with, they have that puzzle to solve, bypassing all of those security measures implemented by the cheat website that makes US$100,000s by selling a cheat that is tough to catch and therefore tough to begin analyzing. They have to do this uniquely for each and every public pay cheat out there if they intend to catch it.
After bypassing all those measures, they next have to analyze the result. When a programmer works, usually they are coding in a programming language meant to be understood by humans that code. Every programmer working on the system is trying to make the code as understandable to humans as possible. When you reverse engineer stuff, you are staring at a tremendous file of 1s and 0s, of compiled code that is a complete mess with very little structure and zero attempt to communicate to the viewer what the code does. The primary objective of the compiler that produced that code is to create an efficient program based on the source code, not to communicate what that code does to a human reverse engineering. It's not a job that many people do even if they can. I suspect most people working there just don't want to do that work. And throw into it reverse engineering is a skill you can hone over years or decades. Most programmers working there have a decade of experience producing source code that humans can understand, not looking at compiled code to figure out what it does.
More or less, they've really got to hire some reverse engineer programmers that are dedicated to the task of catching these public pay hacks. That will eliminate 90+% of the cheaters if they can catch every single one of them periodically. As it is now, most of these cheats pretty much never get detected, so anyone with Google search and something like US$60 a month can cheat in MM without much risk.
My team has around 4000 to 7000 ratings and were matched against top player VeNom. First of all wtf Valve. secondly they were cheating at least 2 of them RDX and RAJU BHAI...
We encounter so many cheaters each day, its crazy. But seeing them at top of leaderboard, that's next level.

Yesterday i played a match with some friends and some racist dude with 2k rank was able to get like 50 kills out of nowhere vs us and we're ranked around 5k - 7k. It's lame cause we were about to win and then they turned on and we lost every round
From my experience, people with 2k rating tend to have a way higher chance of straight up blatantly cheating and dropping a 30+ bomb against 8000+ players. Well, either cheating or smurfing (which has the same effect as using a hack by ruining games and wasting people's time). A person that can perform that well, even if they were slammed on alcohol, would get beyond 2k rating, so the person is certainly doing something immoral.

I just gave up.Haven't played CS2 in a week already.And for all my time having fun with CS since I was a kid (CS 1.5) will come to an end if Valve doesn't fix their biggest CSGO and now CS2 problem, the cheaters.I even regret I have been added to the Beta, my hype is fully gone.Anyway maps and especially my favourite of all time aka Inferno is great, sadly that's all.

i think VAC live isnt being used yet. They are likely trying to connect their decade of CSGO AI learning to the new Engine. If sprays feel different, movement feels different and some smokes are different the AI cant just operate using its raw CSGO data.

tbh i havent noticed any cheaters in cs2 yet i played around 100 games and only 1 had blatant cheaters that got banned the next day.

Just played against the #1 guy on NA "tweaky" he was using a shrugface for his name and had a couple of rounds that looked like blatant fucking cheating. No suprise with 90% win rate.
Probably copium, but Valve could be letting some of it happen to test how cheats are exploiting the game. Plus with a new engine there’s going to be a lot of ways people exploit the code that was previously unknown.

CS2 pretty much uses the exact same engine. Cheat programmers probably need a week tops to look into it and update their CSGO cheats to work with CS2.

Game is already ruined before release. Cheats are very present at all CS ratings levels. Add to this the insane amount of cheating content going on right now, plus the hype in the cheating community about breaking the new game that just came out. Thats just the start of a new generation of cheats and this will affect all games, forget your hopes of playing an FPS game fairly. It will never happen again, atleast never consistently. Honestly I think I'm almost done with PC gaming, thats BS.

Play 4 placement matches.. literally cheaters on my team, and the enemy team.. every game. After doing some research.. 1/3 people cheat in online games now.. I had no idea.. so.. yeah until we get a real anticheat, theres not a single competitive multiplayer thats playable. Even Valorant. Tons of wallhackers.. and if they arent tracing..they dont get banned.. pretty bad. Apex Legends.. same thing.. pure cheaters and people remaking accounts to continue to cheat on. So you're playing against smurfs who are cheating half the time.
Yeah, I don't touch battle royale games for this reason. I'm just glad I was able to experience PUBG before everyone was a cheating loser

Why comment on something you didn't care to research? Valve implemented a machine learning algorithm to detect the people that Overwatch used to ban. It is known as Vacnet. However, Vacnet (and Overwatch) never was meant to catch subtle cheaters anyway. It only catches the most blatant of cheaters. Shit like aimboting with zero smooth and a jittery crosshair that moves to adjust precisely to control the recoil perfectly. With Overwatch and with Vacnet, people can be pretty blatant with their wallhacks and never get banned. Likely, they chose this level of evidence to ensure no one innocent gets banned. Pro players, especially if they have callouts from their teammates, can resemble someone blatantly wallhacking, and it wouldn't make sense to ban even one of those legitimate players.

The only time there was a cheater in game Valorant banned them in 3 rounds and cancelled the match. We didn't even play enough of the game to realize there is a cheater : that's how good Riot anticheat is

We get 8k 30 fps now though, it's fine that the game will have a cheater 9/10 games now, and it's fine thr same map that was getting 600fps is now 130fps, because I get to stare at an 8k wall that is rendered well outside the map and also enjoy the broken bhopping and less than 64 tick rate, games reeeely fun rn, so fun that I'm selling my whole 4k inv because it will be worth less than 50 bucks in a year or 2, this game sucks dick
cheating is no where near as bad in cs2 as it is in csgo. but that'll change as the csgo cheats make a cs2 cheat in the future.
