As a longtime Raptors fan, I can confirm that at the time of the Lowry from Toronto to Philadelphia trade talk, the local reports were Ujiri wanted Tyrese Maxey, but the 76ers weren't willing to include him.
EXACTLY!!! I don’t know where these people get their info from. Raptors back in 2021 were content with any decent (not a superstar) young player and salary filler for Kyle, but none of the “contenders” in need of a PG wanted to trade without humiliating Masai as if it was personal.
Heck, the Lakers and LeGM were not even willing to give up THT and a bag of Cheetos, and the only way we managed to get Precious was holding on till the off-season for a sign and trade. Yet somehow we rejected Maxey? like come on lmaooo 😂😭

If I’m Indiana I don’t trade Toppin. Halliburton has developed great chemistry with him and his ability to run and transition and catch lobs from pull court passes is too valuable for this team’s offense. You aren’t going to find many guys that do that. Maybe you have Toppin coming off the bench and play Siakam as a small-ball 5, but you don’t get rid of Toppin.

Precious is impossible to watch. OG has never developed beyond a strong role player. Giannis never even considered coming here. Dragic was sh!t stain. We fired a consensus top-tier coach and hired a Serbian rookie that doubles as Marvin the Martian in his spare time. And most importantly, folks are tuning out. He is still extremely young, give him time. And it's not his fault he hasn't played this season yet. Scotties development is great, Siakams development was almost like something never seen before. And what team could get a chip and lose their FMVP in the same summer and still be a contender? Correct, no team. Raptors tried to stay competitive. I'm not saying he did not make mistakes, he should've traded FVV and Lowry earlier, the return was bad. But he still made one of the best trades in NBA-History
from a lakers fan idk how you say that trading TP,max christie, rui and d lo is pennies on the dollar for lavine. i WOULD NOT do that deal if i was the lakers at all. d lo is quietly playing great this season with 16 and 6 on 40% from 3 and great defense for his size. also rui is huge for us and we wouldnt have gotten to the WCF without him last year. and TP is wing depth that will be needed for when cam reddish or vando are not in the game or if one gets hurt.

As a Raps fan that indiana trade sounds very interesting but the questions is...can Masai pull the plug? We would be fine without Siakam but I'd hold on to OG, our best defender and he's just 26 getting better every year

@@kalu8652 hell no. The picks will probably not in the lottery and Mathurin could be anything, from a bust to an all-star. All-Star is highly unlikely loooking at his first steps in the NBA. Siakam is a multiple All-Star AND ALL NBA Player, great two-way player, good ballhandler and playmaker, great defender. His skillset is scalable, he can be your Number 1, 2 or 3 option in any kind of team. Plus championship experience. A Top 20 Player in the league. What other player would you pay Mathurin and two mid-first rounders for?

Philly does not need another point guard. Maxey has played better as the leading guard his entire career so far.
They don’t have a backup point guard though. Maxey hasn’t been able to rest because of this and if he somehow gets hurt near the playoffs, the sixers are screwed. Pat Bev has been doing pretty okay at filling that slot but he will get murdered in the playoffs.
If Lavine is traded to the sixers he can start at SG and shift to PG when melton is substituted in for maxey and Lavine can run the bench squad. It also gives the sixers flexibility in the playoffs (this is basically their entire gameplan, they know embiid will carry them to the playoffs they just need to be harder for teams to gameplan against). So even when Maxey is on the court, the sixers can give teams different looks by running plays where Maxey is offball. Btw, Maxey has been playing this way more recently. Teams have been building gameplans to shut maxey down because they know you can’t shut Embiid down. So their answer is to move Maxey off ball and utilize him on cuts and spot up shooting for a couple of easy points to get Maxey in rhythm, then give the ball back to him.
Btw, Lavine has been listed as a shooting guard for most of his career and he can slide to Small Forward if he has to.

@@EdWedgie You really don't know what you are talking about. Embiid is already signed and Maxey is a lock, they already announced their intentions to max him. Maxey took an extension this year instead of going free agent so the team had cap space to sign other players.
The team also doesn't need depth especially at the Small Forward position. They have Oubre playing D and dropping 20 a night, they also have Covington, House, and Martin on the bench. With all 3 of those players not really getting any playing time because they have too many great players.

Would be a chemistry killer and a quick way to burn a bridge with a young potential superstar who is currently fully bought in on the franchise. Ty has talked repeatedly about how Buddys like his older brother and he wants to get him to the playoffs for the first time in his career.

Turner and Nembhard are the only two players we could trade right now that wouldn't hurt our chemistry. And with how well Jalen Smith and Isaiah Jackson have been playing we still have great young centers. And we also still have McConnell. I personally think we should keep the team as it is right now and see what happens. And then make the necessary changes in the offseason

Kings will have a big trade coming up. Most likely Huerter, Barnes, and Mitchell will end up traded this upcoming season. Kings will get a big wing man. Kings decided to run it back but have had some struggles playing against some big guys in the league.
OG is the only player that makes sense to trade for, but only if there willing to take Wiggins and 1 or 2 picks. Anything more would be too much, we don’t need OG that bad

Jazz get: Andrew Wiggins, Trayce Jackson Davis, 2 first round picks and 2 second round picks that can be converted to a first round pick in the future!

Phily doesn't need another stars on their rosters which is good enough although some good defensive guys can help. They should learned a lots from harden trade before.
Philly needs someone that can run the second team though. They have a lot of good role players but no one that can demand the ball when Embiid or Maxey are resting.
This is why a Lavine and Caruso trade for Harris+Springer and maybe someone like House/Roco for filler will be ideal. Springer is a promising young talent perfect for a rebuild. Harris is salary filler but a decent player to finish out the season for them, and get off the books next year. I wish the Sixers could see Springer develop but he isn’t there yet, and Lavine/Caruso will end up taking up most of the minutes Springer could get next year.
Maybe the sixers can finesse the deal and trade Korkmas as the filler, but I doubt it. Korkmas is trash.

No one realizes DeMar and Pascal both have the same Defensive Rating of 115. Which isn't very special.. But they'd help us as a young team and our game would raise their individual Defensive Rating most likely.

In the past few seasons, the teams that won are those with 2 or 3 players averaging 20 to 30 points each.
Siakam doesn't fix Golden State. They need to move Klay and Wiggins, start Moody and Kuminga, get Draymond to pull his head in or move him too, get a solid DEFENSIVE center to take over from Kevon Looney. Today their best lineup was Curry, Podjemski, Kuminga, CP3 and Saric. It's like that almost every game.
