- Oh yes, this is a long writing vlog wrapping up two weeks of writing, so grab a snack! Watch me make soup, a lot. I talk about what's going on with drafting and the astrological signs I have given my characters. I also went Halloween decor shopping! Yay! And, I start to contemplate what to start after I finish the first draft of Hardly Gods. Should I try and write an adult romance for NaNo???

Haha! I work as a stocker at a Michaels, and I just got off work and wanted to wind down and watch this. Guess work followed me. (Fun fact, a lot of the stores are experiencing delays in seasonal merchandise, which is why you really haven't missed much. There may even be more coming gradually, depending on if your store is having the same delays.)
Haha, yes, I saw there was delays on IG, and I thought for sure itd take even longer for things to get to Iowa. I did end up going again over the weekend and saw some more items that werent there before! I managed to snag the last green pumpkin with the gold snake on it 😂 I was so happy hahaha.
I'm glad! I'm in Illinois, and it seems like the Midwest stores are having the weirder delays. It's all coming from the west coast, but some places east of us were getting the stuff first for some reason. I'm sure it will be the same situation for Christmas. I also love how I came for a writing vlog and ended up commenting about retail manufacturing and shipping issues.
Your videos always make me excited to write, also I love watching you decorate your flat, you have such good taste! My MA dissertation, which is a YA fantasy novella, is due Sep 30 (yikes!) and after that I'm hoping to start working on a YA fantasy novel about dragons I've been dreaming about writing pretty much since childhood :D also hoping to do nanowrimo for the first time ever with this book!

I'm a Pisces, and no probs bwhaha ^^ I don't see a Pisces doing well in an enemies-to-lovers relationship. We'd either fall in love with our enemy immediately or get so exhausted by their antics that we'd run to a fixed or cardinal sign to help us fight the guy.
I love watching these writing vlogs! I’m on my break between draft one and draft two. I’m outlining a new retelling, but I’ve been very sluggish with it. I think my NaNo project may be working on revisions. I’m not sure if I can manage a whole new 50k words so soon.

You should totally do that. I keep feeling my personal story I'm working on is definitely adult fantasy but has a feel of YA. I personally would love to read more books that were like that or more books that were "crossover". Though I personal did not try to write a crossover but it just seems like it's going in that direction on its own.
Yeah, I wish crossover books were more mainstream because I definitely think theres a place for them!

I don't know if you know this already, but you can actually change the time scrivener starts over. I had to fix mine because it would reset at one in the morning and my brain HATED that. you go into PROJECT TARGET and press OPTIONS. then go into SESSION TARGET.
Haha yes, I I know you can change the settings, but my brain just likes the midnight deadline more even if my anxiety doesnt hahaha!
I have a similar dilemma where my writing style and voice is more YA but I want my current WIP to be adult fantasy romance. So we'll see how that goes........
I've come to realize that I dont see a lot of difference between the two very much? I think adult romance in general does really well with more voicey-er writing styles which it has in common with YA. I think because both tend to be more character-driven.
'I try to get my 1000 words in by midnight' Girl, by midnight I've already been sound asleep for at least two hours, LOL! Also you always have the best ambience/asmr screens up while you're working, is that one particular creator? I think you should write an adult book so that when your YA sells you can sell in a different market. ALL HAIL SOUP! it's what I eat for lunch every day:)
My favorite asmr creator is Cozy Rain. I love their settings. I think I follow at least another ten or so 😂 I always get recommended them and just subscribe so I dont lose them hahah. T E R A V I B E has more fantasy-like settings I enjoy too.

I wish 😭 I live above a bar so sometimes my camera picks up some of the noise when the party is hopping down there. My brain has already grown used to it.
