Leave No Trace - I totally agree.
However it's a pity the fire at 09:45 destroyed the grass and killed any insects, worms etc that would have been directly beneath it.
Why not build the fire upon a layer of flatter rocks that would protect the living matter and could also provide warm rocks that could be used to dry out kit, warm the body etc ?
Why not ever walk on the grass as you may kill insects ect that would of been in the grass
Becky, regardless of what you are doing, either solo or with a companion, it's YOU doing it that is the main draw, your enthusiasm, joy and presentation are without a doubt part of that. I am glad to be able to follow all of your life on one channel. May you be able to continue to live your chosen life style for many years to come.
Thank you for such a lovely comment, I really appreciate it and the endless support John! 😊
@@GirlOutdoors only came across this today after a shift on Burton marshes RSPB here on the Wirral...totally agree with your subscribers...after 44 years in the NHS ,would absolutely encourage you to live your life...peace and love from the wirral peninsula, bounded by the mersey and the Dee and the Irish sea...geography and rhyme...ps subscribed....E...
I absolutely loved what you said at the beginning of the video. You are such an inspiration and I love the mindset that you have and that you choose to share with us. Thank you for taking us on your adventures
Thanks for taking us along! So refreshing to be out and about with you!
Thank you :)
Hi Becky . . . glad to see you doing so well . . . I'm happy you're finally traveling with a companion . . . I was getting a little worried with all of those solos you were going on . . . you look happy as a lark and that's what counts . . . good luck and stay safe!
I was just thinking watching you making a fire, and this is just a suggestion, to reduce the impact on the grass where you made the fire, why not find a few bits of slate and keep them in your van and when you want to make a fire, make your fire on the slates? If you have say 3 or 4 pieces max they would be very heavy… just an idea
Hi Becky so pleased to see you on the go again, it looks so cosy there although your putting lots of work into everything and yeah its a beautiful place, so you and Jake keep well and safe
It's so nice to see you living life on your own terms, and you talk about it with a quiet enthusiasm, long may you both enjoy it🙂
Becky, you have found one of life's most treasured secrets. To identify a passion and engage it fully is 99.5% of the joy of living. Congratulations, keep on doing what you do and thanks for sharing the experiences with so many.
Beautifully made video. So special to come along with you both. Thank you for taking us along ❤
Hi Becks. Freedom is definitely the theme for this video. Keep living the life that makes you happy xx
Thanks nice to see you out and about. ✌🏻👊
Thanks for the video, I use to love canoeing, I still have it. Always fished out of it. Great scenery, beautiful places
Great video. Loved the wild areas there. Should definitely go back there when you have more time to spend. Take care and stay safe.
Thank you so much Jay! Take care :)
You're living an amazing life. Good work, guys.
This is done professionally my friend! Shots and narration are brilliant!!!
As always I loved this Becks. I lived in my extended cargo van here on the coast of Oregon U.S. for 2 years and had many wild adventures in it, but then I just wanted a base camp so now my home is in Astoria Oregon (home of The Goonies film 😎) and I've got ancient forests all around me and actually watch your videos when I'm camping lol. Keep living the dream and tell Jake to let that hair grow! 🌲😎👍💚
Nice video Becky. Beautiful & peaceful place !!
What a lovely vlog. There is a freedom, I feel when I'm in my van that just isnt there at other times. The sense of being able to go wherever you want. You really capture that. And Scotland is heaven for anyone who loves the wild places. Every time I cross the border back at Gretna I feel a longing to return.
Happy to always enjoy the outdoors, do activities, and make the soul calm! Beautifully made video friend! god bless you
Loved this vlog Bex. That place you and Jakey found towards the end there is certainly somewhere to stick a pin into for a return visit!! 😊
Well done good video 👍
Love your adventures Becky , it make me feel inspired to go outdoors for more relax.
Nice to see you enjoying life Becky. I thought i saw a glint in your eye in that Fjallraven classic and now we know why. ATB.
Good afternoon Becky. Excellent video with superb production values. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend.
Wow!!! Absolutely gorgeous! Great vlog! Thoroughly enjoyed this one! Just so chilled! More vlogs with Jake?👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much! Hopefully :)
Such a lovely, peaceful video. We can't wait to go back to Scotland 😊
Great video guys, love Scotland 🏴
Beautiful and well said. You sound so happy!!! Enjoy life.
Thank you very much!!
Great vlog Becks. You are drawn to Scotland. Such a beautiful place. I hope you got an invite to the wedding Jake was attending 😁
Thank you! He was shooting it :)
Great wee edit, I smiled when you says its pretty much like Canada.... It is, I say that all the time.... Thank you for showing off the awesomeness of our country ; )
Thank you so much! Take care :)
I agree! I was lucky enough to live in BC for a while and I am now based in Scotland and it feels exactly the same at times. Both equally as stunning and wild :)
What beautiful scenery!
Wonderful video Becky. Shame you could not get out and explore the islands on Loch morra (spelling 😂) Definitely looks like you could both be in the wilds of Canada or Scandinavia. But the place ent going anywhere so always another time to explore. Keep up the wonderful adventures both. This is the best lifestyle. Never stop 💚
It did look like Canada. Stay well and be safe. Beautiful landscape.
Nice video.
Great Nature!
Thanks for sharing 🇦🇿👍
Thank you!
Nice video Becky. Beautiful Scotland.
Thank you!!
I live in Yorkshire but work in Surrey so through the week live in my van, love it, then wild camp when I can at weekends, bit pointless having an house to be honest 😆😆lol
I've been loving outdoor life since the end of 2020, throughout 2021 I spent many days or would say even weeks at Surrey Hills, and then was driving my weird Peugeot 307 SW, it had lovely huge sunroof, so was "car" camping and then wild camping, the car got a bit damaged and was told to get through MOT i would have to pay £1300 to fix few things... Before getting rid of it, I was driving to Wales and Scotland, spent there 2 weeks, wild camping and some camping at my friend's place. I decided then to get Land Rover Freelander this year. Was driving very well, until something happened that almost killed me, I do not know the details, but I know I had first 90% of dying and once I was flew to Hospital it went to 50% chance of dying and if not dying I would most likely by disabled in some way... Looks like miraculous things are happening, and not only I survived but my brain was completely healed, my skull and one of the eyes fixed, and I am slowly getting better. Few more weeks and I hope I will be back to life and hoping to do some wild camping, this year was planning to wild camp a lot and this unfortunate things happened. Buying a van is my dream now, to either sleep in it or drive and go for a wild camping. Love spending time outdoor, and thinking years ago I was an indoor person.
Great area becky I go that area every year.youll have to go back one day
Think your just enjoying freedom and be a massive learning curb for the rest of your lifes atb and loads respect for just doing it
I was waiting for you to sneak off with Bushwacker man’s Rover…..,🤣🤣 The scenery is beautiful. ✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧 ✌️
Loved that 👏
Lovely video enjoyed watching
Thank you 🙏 ❤
Thank you!! :)
Your videos are therapy x
Means a lot!
Nice video, great place!
Thanks Alan!

Well I love every video you have put out please continue to make more.
"plenty of time to think about living in a van down by the river, when you're living in a van down by the river."
-Chris Farley
Another left hander!!! And you write with the tip of the pen away from me exactly the same as I do! I have just been in Scotland for 10 days with only one wet one.
good morning Becky , have a nice day :)
Just had a epiphany marmalade and butter, why have I never thought of that, i always have one or the other haha. Keep the videos coming becks been watching since day one, always enjoy them.
hehe thank you, means a lot!
Becky .. you're Class !
Nice! 👑
Interesting hearing your thoughts at the beginning. I wonder is it because of the rise of social media and being connected that we are all being inspired by others experiences or is there some sort of great awakening where suddenly starting to become aware that there is something bigger than us all and like you say, life is very short ?
I can only share from my 57 years on this planet that I have always been from my earliest days interested in things spiritual. My dad who was born in 1926 was really interested also so maybe that’s were I get my thinking from. He was always reading books (from the library lol) on things like UFOs, ghosts, spaceship moon / hollow earth, life after death etc… but then that era was like the swinging 60s and everyone was talking about things like free love 😂😂 and stuff like that … so folk were starting to wake up… you might have heard of songs like ‘The age of Aquarius’ by 5th dimension … if you haven’t heard it… it’s on CZcams and sort of, well 60s 😂😂😂 … I wonder if people say, born in the 1800s we’re thinking about stuff like this but then common folk lived in such different conditions and maybe were more conditioned and didn’t think much out of the box because of strict religion ….
Please excuse my rambling … lol… thanks for your video and here’s to you and your man and a happy life xx
Life is indeed short! 4,000 Weeks!!!!! But, I’m an Infinite Consciousness sort of chap so it’s all good! As the global economy collapses, a controlled collapse of course, we will see millions returning to simpler lives because they have to. Those that have embraced alternative lifestyles, (boats/vans etc.) will have an excellent head start!
Thanks for your comment! :)
Love to be there but have to work and I'm 61
I see you are left handed, we rock 😊
lovely video, do recommend some airbags or floatation for the canoe, for a safety and security standpoint
Thanks! Yes looking at buying some :)
what a nice lifestyle !
Well done Becky and Jake l.n.t.
how can you register a vehicle if you dont have a fixed address
👍
Great philosophy.
Lovely. You always look so sad to leave. I know the feeling.
Can you do a review on your new boots sometime please. Always found when switching from boots to barefoot my back can’t handle it, is that normal?
Thank you! Yeah for sure, they have been amazing. I definitely think it takes time to get used to the shoes though so may have affected your back :)
Your videos always make me relaxed Becky 👍, you are an inspiration to many. I think you've grown wiser as you've got older. Keep up with the good stuff. Now I'm going to have a binge on your older videos 👍. Keep well, keep blessed. Look after yourself and keep the spirit of heart high on that trodden path towards a delightful journey. 😁
Hey may I ask what map I seen on your new video ? I definitely have to travel around Scotland 🏴 when I finish with my island. If you love Scotland you would definitely love my island and if you need any recommendations please don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you for another beautiful video and may Mother Earth continue to bless you with all its beauty. Davy
It’s just a western Scotland road map that we always keep in the van. thanks so much :) definitely need to get over to Ireland!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ super
It’s awesome how you are on a new adventure with different content but still use your bush crafting skills. Great video
Thank you! :)
No buoyancy in your Canoe? Might be a good idea especially on Rivers, but perhaps a good idea on big open water runs?
Yeah planning on some and a trolley! :)
I'm going say another thing, I'm very proud of what you've accomplished in your life. You do the things that I so long desire to do, but life and trials get in the way of dreams sometimes. Anyway, I'm very pleased for you Becky that you've got people to help you to fulfill the life and dreams that are dear to your heart. 👏
ROCK ON! 👍🌹
bang on x
Just discovered your channel 😊 great video. Can I ask what fjallraven trousers you are wearing? Do you rate them?
Many thanks
Jess
Thank you! They are the Fjallraven abisko - really love them! :)
@@GirlOutdoors thanks but I meant the trousers you had on?
An excellent vid Becky, I do so hope you can continue to travel how you most enjoy it. Maybe you could become a full time journalist/explorer and expand your travels into Europe and beyond. Whatever the future holds for you I hope your happy, and whatever you post Al be here watching.
Stay safe
Thank you so much Pete, I really appreciate it!
I was up IN Scotland for 10 days. When I came back, it really hit me how ugly buildings are and how busy everywhere else is. Do you find that when you go to a town or city?
Scotland is the best we are very lucky to have the awesomeness of the great outdoors on our doorstep..... I cannot stand built up areas, towns cities they are so boring and everyone is soooo materialistic....
I 100% agree with you Lauren! Definitely a culture shock...
👍👍
I didn't seem to hear much about living in a van!!
Although material things are important, you have to be honest and say that having money gives you choice.
You simply cannot exist in our society to a tolerable level without money. Money gives you options .
So my point is this. True Homelessness is the only option, and rarely a matter of choice .
Fire on the ground is hardly leave no trace!!! 🤬This is why vans and wild camping is getting such a bad reputation!.
Hello Becky, how are you. I'm Watching you after long time
No trace ……..that’s the secret…..! ❤
Definitely! 💚
I'm a 34 year old man but could you and Jake please adopt me so I can join your adventures? 😆 what a life!
Hahaha this comment cracked us up 😂🙌
What is Jake's channel called again?
"Jake's journey mate"
How totally beautiful.
I wonder if the British military is using the same camo as the US, these days. It looks like she’s wearing multicam.
Oh. Maybe not.
heja
How little you need and not materialistic - all your equipment most cost a fortune.
Poor you
Ah... Morar. A fine place and MacDonald country... or it was once. If it's solitude you crave, then you'll need to get yourself a bit further north to Knoydart - Scotland's last wilderness. There are no roads in, so it's either a 16-mile tab in on foot from the east or a boat in from the seaward side. The van would have to stay at home. It's MacDonald country again, although it subsequently came into the hands of an English toff (Lord Brocket) who was a Nazi (both figuratively and quite literally). Only one place that could be described as a village (Inverie) and three or four tiny hamlets in an area covering thousands of acres. Lochs, sea lochs, Munros, Corbetts, all the wild life you can shake a stick at and as much solitude as would fill a very large bucket. It's getting on in the year now for Knoydart, maybe. I think you'd like it.
Well done you getting that fire started bet jake has to bite his tongue but talking
Keep cracking on Becky and have a super extra wonderful day.
While in Scotland, you should reach out to the Game Masters and inquire about a Red Stag Hunt. Its the final step to being truly one with nature and the Hunting community in the UK has shrunk substantially and the Ghillie tradition may soon vanish. Not to mention the super high quality of Venison meat. Maybe someone like you can show young people that hunting is perfectly natural.
Love your videos and your journey ❤️ The only thing I’d say is your video has given the impression you’ve pulled precious lichens off the trees to use as natural tinder. I really hope not (and apologies if I’ve got it wrong) as this would go against ‘leave no trace’ principles. Said with the upmost respect x
Thanks! Old mans beard always grows back
@@GirlOutdoors lichens are very slow growing and take years. This lichen grows 3 to 5 mm each year, meaning that what can be harvested in a couple of seconds may have taken a decade to form! Your logic is like cutting a branch off a tree and saying it will grow back. Its more responsible to harvest it from windfallen branches on the floor. Some people watching this may think pulling lichens off trees is ok and may well pull off some very rare ones - this is what happened in the ancient copses up on Dartmoor and are now completely closed for camping. You have a very large following and are therefore an 'influencer'. This is absolutely not 'leave no trace'.
No trace??? apart from the wopping scorch mark on the fresh grass you just started your fire on. dont think you understand the no trace thing at all do you!!!
It's awesome video 👍🏻👍🏻
What about sister.?
Save some money and buy yourself a proper piece of land next to a lake when you get older. There you can live a great life with the awesome skills you have learned. Just watch out for Morag the lake monster 👍
That’s the dream! Thanks so much :) heheh!
@@GirlOutdoors I know you can do it! No bills, no debt. Just save your money and buy when the prices drop. Thanks for letting us watch you grow up to be a true Queen of England. Long live the Queen!
