- If you do any driving in Central Australia, there is a high probability you will get some water in your diesel fuel. If so, a warning light on the dash is likely to activate. This video shows how to change the fuel filter on a Toyota Series 78, troop carrier. It is simple, easy and a few tricks to observe.
Enjoy.

My focus is photography street, nature, landscape, people and adventure travel. A few animals also sneak in from time to time. Property investment and business also get covered to complement the theme of having time and money to pursue your passions, like mine, in photography and adventure travel, 4WD, motorcycle and trekking/hiking, connecting with nature and culture.
Using the allen key holder for leverage - great tip!
Glad it was helpful!
You would make a great teacher!:)
Excellent instruction video. It explained everything one needs to know about replacing the fuel filter step by step, what does what, and clearing water from the reservoir. Didn’t miss a thing visually either. Thanks heaps. Very helpful.
I just subscribed.
Great. I’m glad the video was useful. Thanks for subscribing. Cheers Peter
Just had mine come up yesterday. 20 min fix. $30 filter.
Well done.
The paper towels are nice but I'd prefer a cotton cloth to soak out the remaining fuel and water. Especially suited would be an old sock. You can put your hand into it.
I also use socks to store my lenses in while on a hike.
👍
Nice one Pete.
Thanks 👍
What size allen key?
It's a 2mm hex key.
Do you run a second fuel filter? Like a pre or post? I see alot of vids saying they are a must for aus travel
I've also seen those videos. I don't run any additional fuel filters. I try to keep my Troopy as standard as possible to maximise reliability. Seems to work for me.
@@Adventure8 good to hear! I am also of that mindset.
