Your maintenance videos for the 200 are so succinct, so clear, so free of unnecessary verbiage, so informative, I can’t think of any more superlatives. They are awesome. Well done! Every other video on CZcams seems to be about self promotion. Not yours. I have used everyone of them to prep my 200 for the big lap and to keep it going on the way. Filter light came on on the way to the Bungles!
I changed the filter on a beach in the middle of nowhere near Eucla with help from an offline copy of this video. Thanks so much!
To make the bleeding process easier, I recommend getting a short piece of hose, place one end on the outlet of the filter and the other end into a small container. Pump the lift pump until you see fuel come out. Place the hose back onto the outlet of the filter and continue to pump until the plunger goes firm.
This prevents the engine from stalling, removing any air in the system and is better for the fuel system.
Having worked in regional WA at a Toyota franchise for several years, fuel filter replacement on all D4D injection systems was a daily event.
Otherwise, I think this video is fantastic, it's a great idea that everyone knows how to replace the fuel filter on a D4D system. Particularly when traveling, should always have a spare stored in the vehicle, a good majority of pump and injector repairs I can say happen often when people have neglected that little light on the dash
Thanks mate, I just changed mine with your help. Made it very easy.
Really great explanation, wish my pipes came off as easy as yours always seems to, on mine its like an hour long wrestling match
A good trick if they are stuck is to remove the clamp, then lightly grip the rubber hose with the circular section of the pliers, then twist the hose back and forth a couple of times. That usually releases the hose.
Niiice Jamie. Been waiting for this one to come out! Nicely presented and makes for a very easy follow along! Cheers mate.
Fantastic as always Jamie.
love this thank you very helpful and money saving anyone can do this with this vid
Thanks very helpful like all your posts
I just made a temporary reset of the warning lights without changing the filter. As I am out of town and far away from a decent shop.
Works a treat!
Old video but a great one for any 200 series owner however I would recommend using fleetgaurd over Ryco, Surprising fleetgaurd is cheaper too Air /Fuel/Oil for $47 vs 1 ryco oil filter for $45n Fleetgaurd also have 100% engine warranty coverage if there filter fails, no other filter company offers this.
Thanks man, It really helped me and it worked.appreciate it.
Thank you so much. Very usefull video.
Very good job
very informative. thanks mate
Thanks for your sharing😊
Please do a video on power steering fluid flush.
Thnks
How to resets Toyota land cruiser fuel filter maintenance required
Excellent Video Jamie, just curious about your thoughts on fitting a secondary fuel filter as i am considering one due to dirty fuel concerns i encountered on a recent outback trip
I've never had a serious issue with bad fuel, and so have never fitted a secondary filter, although I had originally planned to. If I were to install something, it would most likely be a 2-micron post-filter. I can't see any point in fitting a 30-micron pre-filter, as it offers no additional protection. Just makes the factory filter last longer. If water contamination is the concern, you could install a pre-filter water trap, with would give you advance warning of contamination before it triggers the factory water alarm.
Thanks
Hi Jaimi have you ever had any fault codes appear, if so what brand of code reader due you use to clear codes. Thanks enjoy your videos. Just realised you use the ultra gauge, can this device clear codes.
Hi David, Yes I use the Ultragauge. Yes it can read and clear codes. I'd suggest the MX version, as it can also read transmission temperature (so long as it's a pre 2015-facelift 200). The only codes I ever get are related to the TC lockup kit. It generates a code perhaps once every 6 months.
Jamie. I have a 200gx Cruiser, which has the key start - any ideas on how to reset the dash warning light with this model?
Thanks.
I would take a guess that you'd turn the ignition to 'on'. Let me know how it goes, and I'll update the article!
how many mile or kilometers we have to change fuel filter
I would suggest every 10,000km or so.
hello mate..
just wondering is there any EGR delete kit for Landcruiser 200?
thanks
You can get EGR delete kits from various places. However, I haven't installed one and don't plan to do so.
is there any downside if i install EGR DELETE kit? need your opinion..
thanks
The only downsides are environmental (EGR reduces Nox emissions, which cause cancer and contribute to asthma and visible smog). It's also illegal in Australia, with very large fines (up to $250,000 in some states) if you get caught.
Did you make the cabin filter video & power steering video?
Hi Wayne, No sorry I haven't done either of those as yet.
@@austimages On your website, is it possible to put an interior lights under Service supplies I think some are T10 but I don't want to start changing the lights until I know what I need. Also the headlights are they H3 ?
Why has? My 200 series panel light went off
Sorry, not sure what you mean?
