    The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The 2021 US Open saw Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Great Britain's Emma Raducanu claim the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first major title, with 18-year-old Raducanu becoming the first-ever qualifier to achieve the feat. The 2022 US Open main draw is scheduled to go ahead between August 30 - September 11.

    You'll see her lose sometimes, even in the next few months, and that's normal
    She has not encountered everyone on Tour, her game now visible by everyone on the circuit, and throughout that career development, yall better show some kindness and understanding about her ups and downs. WTA tend to have such a short star cycle nowadays as people overly praised or overly expected in one player, the moment they hit a slump, people bashed the players and called 'em names
    Tennis fans should step up and be better than that.

      You'll have to play your best tennis ever to beat her, and still your chances are slim. Her tennis is almost flawless. She has no technical weakness and she will only improve from now on, as she is only 18 and she has very limited experience at this point. The only question is how soon she will be no 1.

      @@menace3115 Zhang Shuai clearly didn't play her best tennis when she beat Raducanu just a couple weeks before US Qualies. Both played average back then
      Tauson scrapped through against Emma too just before USO.
      Rather than no technical weakness, Emma doesn't have any special trait, but she certainly plays with minimal errors. She is literally Ana Ivanovic with less powerful forehand but more patience

    • @gamingtonight1526
      @gamingtonight1526 Před 2 lety +3

      I agree, but your repliers seem to show that fans ARE going overboard, and are EXACTLY the people that will go after her if she doesn't win every competition! I, like you, expect she will only get to QF's at best for the next couple of competitions. If she's mentally tired from ten two-set matches, how is she going to cope with five two-setters and another five three-setters?!

    She played very well no doubt. But she did benefit from the draw opened up when the top players (#1, 4, 6, 7, 10) gone on her side. Leylah opened up her draw by beating the top players herself (#2, 3, 5). We will have to see in the future when Emma has to play top 10 players (she did not play any during her run at Wimbledon neither)

    • @WelshSwan1986
      @WelshSwan1986 Před 2 lety +8

      And that is her fault how? Nice of you to come on a video about Emma and basically undermine her achievement completely by saying 'Oh BuT LeYlAh HaD a ToUgHeR dRaW!'. And? She got shown up in the final by Emma who, unlike Leylah's other opponents, actually used her brains and didn't just try to beat her using all out power like the others did. Leylah's game did not stand up to the test against a player who is much smarter than she is, end of story. Go and salivate on a Leylah video Ken.

      Sakkari demolished Fernandez 2-6 2-6 in Melbourne this year, Rogers has won 2 matches v Fernandez and Fernandez only beat Sorribes-Tormo 7-5 7-5. We have also seen people come from nowhere to beat seeded players, like Hyeon Chung, but then fall into obscurity. Hyeon Chung beat Djokovic, Zverev and Medvedev in one amazing Australian Open run and it didn't mean much. Tennis is unpredictable for every player

      @@WelshSwan1986 I stated the fact that Emma did not play any top 10 players but Leylah did. That's it. It is one of the observations the tennis world noticed. Even Billie King said during the 2nd week of USO that "the door has opened up for Emma"

    • @WelshSwan1986

      @@nieshikoto No, you've come on here to undermine an 18yo girl's achievements. She has just done something that has NEVER been done before, ever. And all you can do is come on here, not even offer a cursory 'Congratulations!' and then try to make out that her achievement means little because she didn't beat anyone in the top 10.
      Fernandez played an out of sorts Osaka who still got close to beating her, an over the hill Kerber, bottlers in Svitolina and Sabalenka and then got outclassed completely in the final. Emma meanwhile played THREE additonal games to qualify and NEVER dropped a set or even looked likely to lose any match she played. Leylah was the one who got lucky since opponents threw winning opportunities away, she was gifted wins by Osaka, Kerber, Svitolina and Sabalenka.

    She had a dream draw. This is fool's gold. Marion Bartoli had a similarly easy draw when she won Wimbledon.

    • @adamhogarth8244
      @adamhogarth8244 Před 2 lety +3

      Yes that it may be, but Roddick won his slam and then Federer happened for 5 years straight and then Rafa and Nole so that’s why he never won another one, as for Marion Bartoli she retired straight after Wimbledon so she may have won another. With Emma she has no obvious more dominating rivals as yet and I am sure and hope she is a long long long way from retirement. So I doubt your statement will come true
