That this was from the same company that fought madame web was a good financial decision.
Sony what are you doing.
Demolishing itself. Can't have a new world order with anything Old right?!
They want PSN because thats about 8 million+ new account they can show off at their upcoming earning call to the shareholders
It’s time to band together to boycott Sony. Consider this as another major order.
Won't really do much since Sony has a cult that will suck them off if they tell them to
The irony of a game about "super earth" which in function is basically just planetary USA being affected by some US level legal bullshit is pretty funny.
You know it's bad when Forbes Magazine prints articles calling Sony an idiot.
Doesn't help that Sony's security isn't secure at all

Japan was in the no play list which makes no sense. So many huge communities don't get it.
The moment you realize Sony's own CEO lives in a country without PSN.
I said to myself when this hype started, "Wow, this Helldivers 2 seems really popular. Watch it crash and burn in three months, like all hyped to high heaven games do."
Let it be known I take no pleasure in that. It's not a "I told you so" moment, it's a "Why the fuck does this keep happening" moment.
This is why I spent money on drg ridiculously popular since 2018
why does this keep happening ? simple, say with me: Corporate Greed
I just don't bother with live service games.

I think Sony did it to count PC players as PSN players to inflate the user base for investor meetings to make the PS5 look better.

Why wouldn’t they? No one is held accountable imo but poor folks. Corporate elites get away with anything imo even visiting Jeff Es island 🏝️
2 hours to get the email? I thought my email provider was at fault, damn.
Yep. Between their email server lag and their endless verification puzzles, it was the same experience for me (2+ hours). Terrible system. Wasn't ever this frustrating during the PS3 era.
Let's not forget Sony is infamous for data leakages
It practically happens every week
I wanted to laugh because the company uses fax machines to communicate in a world now dominated by high speed communications via email. But then, my mind went straight to my company's client using fax machines to communicate in similar ways, and had no way to receive emails for convenience purposes.

well, good news, Sony have just pull this back and you do not have to get a PlayStation account anymore to play HellDivers 2
I have a feeling that Sony won't back down on this one.
No shit Sherlock, it's Sony, what do you expect
I believe this relates to Stellar Blade. After the day 1 censorship patch, players where apparently cancelling their PSN subscriptions in mass. This looks bad to stock investors. To counter their drop in playstation customers, they forced Helldivers to require a PSN account to make it appear as if their service is growing. Unfortunately for them, we have this whole beautiful situation. Hopefully, this same energy can be pushed onto other publishers like EA and Ubisoft for their third party launchers.

Just going to add this one more time…
In addition of screwing over Helldivers 2, they also shutdown the servers to Little Big Planet 3 PS4, the last remaining server in the entire game.
An added salt to the wound is when you really can't switch regions in PSN, so you're basically stuck with it until the very end, unless you have a secondary account to bypass this (which is still stupid). The worse part is that you can't use your own card to pay some of the stuff online since it doesn't match to that specific region.
The change was already reverted. We won.
