    I did the blocking plate and cooler bypass for reliability reasons on my PX2 2.2 work Ute, and I’ve noticed it runs cooler and fuel economy is better slightly.
    I've just got the engine light on permanently and thought I will just buy one of these cables to get rid of that, but only found ones for the 3.2, so this video has given me the confidence to buy that cable now, cheers!

    I have used one of these egr delete harneses on my px2 for 6 months.
    I bypassed the coolant hoses on the EGR valve and cooler. I didn't install blanking plates though.
    Cleaned all the coke build up in the manifold and cut off the egr injection tube.
    I noticed a power increase straight away and the engine is more responsive.
    I go up a steep hill on my way home and it holds gear and it doesn't need to change back.
    Yes fuel consumption has increased, but not by the cost of an engine rebuild if the cooler lets go !
    So all round, these issues creep up engine power reduces over time.
    Pretty happy all round.

      That's strange , I noticed fuel economy got better by roughly 10% with my 2015 px1 when using the EGR delete cable.

    Hey from Europe, this was the video I was waiting for!! You are awesome, and your videos never disappoint!!! I've got a 2018 2.2 l Ranger with the AdBlue and DPF still under warranty so this is just perfect. I just need to find this product over here! Thanks again!!

    I have a 2021 3.2 and I was attempting to fit the blocking plates today and I have found that Ford seems to have put measures in place to prevent people from blocking the EGR. This wiring harness might be worth a shot

      servicing the transmission & buying a EGR delete cable would be my first mods.

    Hi Mate, I fitted one of these modules to my 2019 3.2l Ranger about 2 months ago and am very happy with it, also noticed a drop of about .8 to .9 L per 100k and also a coolant temp drop of about 7 to 8 degrees c with average running, seems like a good result.

    • @abdautomotive
      @abdautomotive  Před 27 dny +1

      agreed, im preety happy with it so far, the 8 degrees coolant temp drop would correlate with the Lower EGT's.

  • @AdelJeffreyJeffreysAuto
    @AdelJeffreyJeffreysAuto Před měsícem +1

    My ute is Peugeot Landtrek and the EGT runs about 480c at 110 km/h at constant speed. If there is incline it would reach 530c.

    Been running EGR bypass box with power/fuel trim adjust for 10yrs with blanking plate . Only way vehicle could ever get under 10Lt/100km . No thanks to Ford .
    To realise the full benefit the inlet manifold must be cleaned ,, throttle response if far far better .

    Hi mate, with this mod, would you still recommend to use the blanking plates or bypassing any cooler hoses? Or is the plug harness enough to prevent issues?

    Hi thanks for your video it was a good test. What about the dpf if that was removed internally as well it might improve the economy also but would it throw a code?

  • @Gogga7
    @Gogga7 Před měsícem +2

    Very good video. Does disabling the EGR like this protect the engine from EGR cooler failure?

    • @aussieman3582
      @aussieman3582 Před měsícem +2

      No you still need to change it once it starts failing and losing radiator coolent.

    • @mathieubarras9686
      @mathieubarras9686 Před měsícem

      But the good thing should be that if the egr cooler fail the engine shouldn't suck in as much coolant and might just save the engine

    • @tonygolledge7906
      @tonygolledge7906 Před měsícem +1

      @@aussieman3582Hi, what if you bypass the EGR cooling pipe?

    • @aussieman3582
      @aussieman3582 Před měsícem

      @@tonygolledge7906the egr failure is due to the unit rusting internally leaking into cylinder 5. This bypass using the cable is similar to a tune delete. You need to do a complete delete of the egr so no coolent goes into the egr.

    Wouldn't the fuel mixture be wrong cause it thinks its using exhaust gas when it actually not?

  • @TaneBluey
    @TaneBluey Před 25 dny

    By using this cable it would remove the need for me to go to a shop and have the EGR tuned out correct? And I can just put the blanking plates and bypass in for good measure

    Thanks for all your videos, Ive got an 3.2L 2022 with low mileage, Would you recommend keeping it or trading it for a yota1GD FTV or 2GD FTV just to avoid the possible failure points that you´ve stated previously in your older videos?

    • @abdautomotive

      keep it, most the problems were ironed out in the 2022 (PX3) model

    Why does the EGR Recirculation Sensor read almost 1000⁰? 😅

    • @RangerDanger720
      @RangerDanger720 Před měsícem

      Its not connected and the cable tricks the Ecu

  • @sayhellotoomylittlefriends7553

    Hey mate, why do you say this won’t work for the px2 pre DPF?

    • @1980georgeg
      @1980georgeg Před měsícem

      Pretty sure the IAT wiring is different. On the earlier ones, you could modify the original wiring with the addition of a resitor to trick the ecu into thinking the IAT is 2degress, which prevents the EGR from opening. If you go to diesel boss you'll see the earlier 'module' is much simpler.

  • @MrRanma3030

    Any change to the DPF operation? I have heard that removing the egr causes the dpf to fire more ofter. Negating any fuel saving.

    • @abdautomotive
      @abdautomotive  Před měsícem +1

      the computer still thinks the EGR is in full operation as shown in the video, so im not sure how it would fire more often.
