  • We get a car in for a tune that had an EGR delete cable fitted
    So we will show you how they work and what they do.
    Do you think it’s worth it?

    That last tune you did .. was the with the EGR Cable in or out ???
    Hayden 2012 MAZDA BT50 - Just fitted my EGR Cable yesterday. BT has 128 000 .... feels to me like it is running smoother, quieter, less ping. Smoother power delivery.

    Hey mate, got a Isuzu Dmax 2023, I've just removed the Egr pipes and just covered it with those egr plates delete. No tune or remap, just standards. Results are, better throttle response, drives light, will it effect the engine longrun?

      Ya it will keep carbon out of the cylinder head and save you a pile of cash/time on replacing the EGR @ 100k.
      I would assume better gas mpg as well. I don't agree with the design and function of an EGR system. It is putting dirty pre burnt exhaust into the cylinder for re-burning.. Which doesn't re-burn at all, it deposits pure carbon soot over time that will degrade performance, which is designed to push people back to car lots to buy another vehicle.. It doesn't cool off the cylinder either like they claim either. These EGR systems only came out in the 70s.. Internal combustion engines have been out for over 100 years, and you ever hear the expression "they don't make em like the used to" That is because we live in a throw away society designed precisely to increase quarterly stock earnings by selling shit...
      Here is most people's main problem.. They can't just delete the EGR without tricking the ECU into thinking the EGR is there. If people just block the EGR it will throw off engine codes for poor flow which then messes up your MPG and power output etc.. The EGR should be plugged in electrically, then taken off the engine head so it just exhausts that carbon crap outside of the engine while putting a cover plate over the cylinder head so nothing goes in there.
      If you were handy enough you could have it vent into something, then check that something after a few months and see what's been thrown back into our engines.. IT's pure black carbon soot...
      If you have one of the vacuum style EGR's just disconnect it from piping that burnt exhaust back into the cylinders, but make sure it can breath properly.. So don't just tie it back into the cover plate delete kit thing, it needs to breath out that throat hole or it will throw the whole thing into a tizzy
      Doing it this way keeps the CEL from throwing a code, which then keeps all the trims and idle running smoothly.

    this is tapping into the intake air temp sensor, other products like this use an ambient temp sensor to prevent interfering with factory ecm saftey features

    I have fitted a delete cable to our 4n15 Pajero sport, its only done 1200 KLM but according to the dash its getting better fuel economy by about 1ltr per 100klm (long trip average 6.6ltrs per 100) also the annoying what I thought was turbo lag has now gone. Happy with it so far and a tune would void warranty.

      @ConcernedCitizen742 Před 25 dny

      Hey mate just curious are you still running the EGR cable? I've got a pan sport but about 100k on it. It's incredible the amount of carbon built up in intake manifold and intake ports and valves cyl 1, 2!

    • @graeme1491
      @graeme1491 Před 25 dny +1

      @@ConcernedCitizen742 Only time I removed the cable was for its first service, straight away the annoying instant power hesitation came back so refitted the next day. Not sure what the effects would be for other vehicles as manufactures have different emission control setups, but for my Pajero sport QF I’m getting better response and fuel economy. If there is less power?, it’s not noticeable and we tow a 2.5 ton caravan. For $32 off Ebay it’s not a lot of money to try and for me the benefits are well worth the money. Engine takes about 5 klm longer to reach temp, DPF burn off intervals are halved and the oil stays cleaner for much longer.

    Im sick of hearing about EGR and DPF causing issues. (No offence OP)
    Heres a fucking radical idea folks, stop doing the school run eh and drive it like your meant to, mile after fucking mile.
    Audi A3 - EGR + DPF + Remapped. Miles on clock 220k, power output 225 Bhp 2.0 TDI
    Audi A6 - EGR + DPF + Remapped. Miles on clock 320k. Power output 300 Bhp 2.7 TDI
    Audi A3 - EGR Deleted no DPF, remapped, Miles on clock 371k Power ouput 220 Bhp.
    All 3 are running clean and green, all 3 intakes are clean, and all 3 egrs are great.
    Diesels WHEN DRIVEN PROPERLY and when serviced on schedule dont suffer EGR problems, they dont have DPF problems, its all the short journeys, shops, school blah blah blah, buy a petrol they will do that shit all day long, gonna drive 9000 miles every 6 weeks like me, you choose a diesel which you guessed it will do that shit all day long.
    Why? Petrols are built for short journeys, there better adapted to do it. Its why they rev so high on the motorway.
    Diesels are built to do it, they were designed from day dot to do that, mile after mile hour after hour, its why at 100+ kmh your granteed at least 1400 revs on the clock, just enough boost for the EGR to remain closed, and enough heat for the DPF to work as designed.
    They dont sap performance, you just gotta drive the fucking things properly.
    Deleting them dont solve the problem of a lack of driving, it makes them worse, alot worse.
    Anyone who tells you, you gotta delete the EGR and DPF before you map it is talking out of there fucking ass, they want you to delete them, cos there tunes are so smokey its gonna block the DPF, and so obsured there gonna foul up the EGR, a good tune, a propper tuner, will get the exact same results with all the oem parts in place.
    And if you still dont believe me, go look up Gail Banks, cos im telling ya, what that fella dont know about diesels aint worth knowing. Bad tuners are 2 and 10 a penny, good tuners, propper fucking tuners, who know what there doing, are 1 a million.
    My rants over, sorry i didnt watch all ya video mate, but this is a subject that pisses me off, all the problems on a modern diesel, are caused by the tool behind the wheel, and a complete lack of driving it.

      For the Volkswagens, it’s more that the car goes into limp mode should anything go wrong with the EGR or DPF. My coolant pump has failed twice on my Amarok, both faulty parts as told by VW, both times it went into limp mode I was fully packed for work heading to jobs down south. Fk the EGR and FK the DPF.

      I have worked on many vehicles with clogged egr's. You seem to be angry about people deleting. This delete is not about power. A large fleet service towing company got fined out of existence for deleting all of his trucks. You know he dont want some random driving his $150k semis like a mad man. He modded them for reliability. Now he is fined $900mil and doing 2 years.
      Gail banks is a mixed bag. He has not dyno'd his air horn. He avoids is by going on about air density blah blag. Man has a dyno but refuses to use it for this. Let that sink in...
      The air horns have ports and look nice, that's why I have one, but I would be a fool to think it has added any power.
      Pedal monster is a joke. Better off putting that money on automind. Its ok, but still limited to 110.
      The diff cover is probably legit.. This man is just a climate suck up. He is in Nazi Cali. He has no choice but to be a poser or get fined out of business.
      You bought into his snake oil. Half his bs is to cover his behind. 2017 is th elast year of the diesels The 2007 and older stuff is the last of the best. 2018 they changed everything.
