What I really love about kindles are they don't release devices yearly

@@Maneetpaul I cannot recall the website but one reviewer raised the point that the new paperwhite's larger size makes it less comfortable/save to hold with just one hand than the previous iteration. The oasis might be similar in size but the different form would make it easier to hold with one hand. Do you have any feelings on this topic?

Great presentation! Clear, to the point and touching on everything I personally needed to make a decision. Frankly, after watching your CZcams, I immediately logged to Amazon and bought one!
I received my new Kindle on release day and Iâm impressed with the bigger screen, faster page turns and improved lighting. (Mine updated a few days after receiving it as well.) It is significantly faster than the previous model and Iâm very happy with the warm light. I did have mine crash once when downloading a big batch of books, but itâs been fine since. Really happy with the upgrade and thanks for your review (and congrats on all the views)!

Very comprehensive review. I recognize the privacy concern but I love that setup is effortless. I would put a skin on the back to minimize fingerprints.

I think the signature is worth the upgrade if youâre paying for ad free...since the signature version comes without ads by default, itâs only $30 more for more memory and wireless charging.

@@Maneetpaul In Canada the signature edition makes very little financial sense. The pricing is $150 for standard, $210 for signature (neither version has ads). Wireless charging is pretty unnecessary for such a device, and if you're not using the device for audiobooks (a phone is much simpler), then 8Gb is more than enough storage. The auto brightness sounds interesting, but I imagine it could be more hassle than it's worth.

Plus the 4 months of KU. If youâre already paying for that, you save $40 bringing the price even lower.

Me: buys super eco friendly and sustainable minimal packaged Kindle
Also me: adds leather case to cart
Itâs actually not really eco friendly. You have to read hundreds of books on the device to offset the production energy and environmental damage from the battery etc.

Years of waiting and finally! This is what I wanted! Almost the same size as old one but with bigger screen! Well done Amazon!
I love it too but it isn't the same size as the older one so, unfortunately a new size case is needed. I got a Caseit tablet case for 6-8" tablets from Wilkos for ÂŁ10. It is a bit big so although the Kindle sits snugly in the corner clips, it won't fit in my handbag. I will look for the perfect one when there is more choice available. I don't like the amazon ones, they are not padded enough to absorb drops - I broke my first kindle when I dropped it. (Stepped off the kerb while walking and reading!) The magnetic case fell open too so I prefer an elastic or zip closer.

This is a great review. I just got the Signature Edition yesterday as an upgrade to my Paperwhite 2 from 2014 and itâs awesome (the old one is still going strong though đ).

Fantastic review. Thank you. I was thinking about the Signature edition but largely because of the 32GB. I have that on my Oasis but have never got beyond using about 18GB and have a 32GB PW too but have still over just 20GB free of 27GB useable storage. I canât see my valuing the wireless charging of the Signature edition sufficiently to justify its uplift in price.

Great video as always! Bought the signature edition, but as you mentioned it came with the old software pre installed. I was going to manually update it using my computer, but the kindle site doesnât currently have an update file for the 11th generation paperwhite

I am tempted with the bigger screen, but I am going to stay with my Paperwhite 10th because of those new small side-bezels!
Big bezels make holding my kindle comfortable.
Iâve never minded the ads. I have actually found some awesome books through those ads.
Does it display ads if the device is not connected to internet?
Maybe not. There are times it just has a picture that is just block lettersâŠI never considered that it was because of no wifi

Because of your enthusiastic videos I almost bought an Oasis, but reconsidered at the last minute. I can see myself buying a Kindle next year. But it will either be a PW4, or the signature edition. I love the PW4 due to the plum color, and also the PW4 is very light. I don't use ambient light. I am fine with the speed of it. I read a lot per day. PW4 or signature it is. Your video btw, is much more useful than Goodereader's.

I have the 2018 paperwhite and it's the perfect size. It fits in my back pocket and is pretty easy to hold one handed. I wish the screen was bigger like the new one but overall especially with how cheap the 2018 one is I'd buy it soon before it's gone as I can't imagine they're gonna keep producing them with the new one out now.

I traded in my basic kindle so with a gift card and the trade-in Iâve been able to upgrade and get a protector screen and cover for the same price as a new Kindle. Iâm happy with that.
Did the same but waited for price drop on black Friday week (so over a week ago now) and got kindle kids version as I got 2 years warranty and free case plus no ads and kindle kids free for a year (loving Amazon trade in its so much better and as I waited I got my new kindle for ÂŁ74 from ÂŁ139 (nearly half price)
Additional weight can be an insidious problem for people with dexterity issues, arthritis, etc. so thanks for mentioning it! The fact you sense fatigue after holding it means it might not be a good fit for an older person, or one with hand/fingers concerns.

I still have my Kindle Voyager, and it still work and ps a good charge. I wish the new Kindle had the same no tacky backing and had the same hard case the folds on flips over the back. I like that case and my still looks new. Oh my, is my Voyager THAT OLD? đč

Your reviews on the Kindles and particularly the new Kindle Paperwhite are very detailed and extensive.I really liked all the information and pro and cons, well reviewed.
I am going to go with the signature edition as I also have a lot of Audible books.
I am still using my Kindle Voyager, which holds a good charge and still works perfectly.
I do wish the new Paperwhite had used the hard non sticky/ fingerprint backing that is on the Voyager, I have found that sticky rubber backing eventually becomes a gummy mess.

I'm a constant reader (or bookworm) and was reeeaally looking forward into buying a Kindle Oasis as my first e-reading device. But now this new paperwhite came out and I'm very very conflicted.

I have a similar thing to a pop it, you can also get cases with hand straps or a hooked like strap that attached to any case and you can put your whole hand through , ÂŁ9 on Amazon is cheapest but you can get a pack of very solid stick on ones (pack of 3 or pack of 6 for under $10 that you just slide a finger into to help you grip they also flat so they don't touch your screen in any way or attach to back of the case instead, I fall asleep holding it so it's been invaluable and doubles as a stand! Well worth a look (stick on or clip on, or the pop-it one) or even a case with handhold available bin new sizes on eBay now!
Iâm still gonna go for Kobo Libra 2. Also USB-C, 32 GB storage, plays nicer with other stores and formats and for me importantly, read in landscape and there are physical buttons. Great video though đ

Torn between this new Kindle and the Kobo Libra 2. Can you adjust the brightness on this Kindle like you can on a Kobo device, i.e. by sliding your finger up and down on the left side of the screen ?

Nice video -- thanks! I ended up getting this new 2021 PW, but was seriously considering the Oasis. I'm still not sure I made the right decision. I'm looking forward to your video comparing the two. If they come out with a new Oasis in the next year (still with the physical buttons), I may have to jump on that.
You've made the right call I think. The only major advantage oasis has are the buttons, but apart from that, not much difference.

Put a Pop Socket on the back......in the middle, about 1/3 way up from the bottom. Makes holding it amazingly comfortable.
Great review . . .i have the pervious Paperwhite and the Oasis. I was curious if the new Paperwhite would outperform my oasis. I think Iâll just wait for the next generation oasis.
Just got my Signature today and after dialing in my settings, I'm loving it. The display size...my goodness, the difference is night and day from what I had before. I'm coming from a Voyage so the adaptive light sensor I was used to is also nice to have back. Since I also do a lot of sideloading larger books with images in it along with manga and graphic novels via Calibre, the 32gb is a VERY welcome size bump. Glad after 5 years I got the upgrade I was looking for, especially with the USB-C port I was waiting for! All this, and still barely able to be pocketed, home run device for me.
I have a Voyage, van you put thema side to side please and tell me which has sharper screen?
@@samal-scharkauy268 Hmmm I feel like the sharpness is pretty much the same, if the Voyage is sharper (which you'd think since they supposedly share the same resolution so how could the ppi be the same?) it's so minimal you've gotta really stare at it to tell the difference. The voyage does seem a bit more contrasty though which makes the words look darker overall even with the warmth filter on the Paperwhite dialed down to zero.

Yes you can! Simply keep the "auto brightness" feature unchecked next to the brightness slider.

Please please do a comparison of the Kobo Sage to the Oasis! I have the Oasis 3 and Kobo Aura One. I love the larger display of the One, but the light is extremely uneven and makes it unpleasant to read at night. Iâm wondering if the backlight has been fixed on the Sage and I can finally move on from my Oasis to another 8â display đŹ

Iâm considering getting this one. I have a kobo (libra h20) and yes I like it, I love having buttons and a bigger screen, but I also like to read some books that arenât available on it. My paper white lags a bit and I hope the new one is as fast as you all have been advertising.
