Okay, I am a beef loving Texas girl, no doubt about it. However, never in my life have I been even slightly attracted to beef pot pies, or even chicken ones... but turkey...YES! With that said, this video absolutely enthralled me. I was salivating all the way through and now I am craving one. You made it look delicious and inviting and by the time it baked, it was absolutely gorgeous and alluring! I am up for a beef pot pie now... homemade. The only thing I would possibly change is to add mushrooms. Brilliant! Great job both Eric and Amy {:-))
Thank you Mae. Glad I could make a convert out of you. LOL!!! Yeah, these things turned out pretty good. Dunno if you saw my chunky beef stew video yet. That features the missing part (POTATOES and BIG hunks of beef. Three pound beef recipe!!!) For more beef, there's my 7 pound cheese burger video. Then I have the Panini ribeye sandwiches. Get your saliva ready if you haven't watched those yet. LOL!!!!!
Those pies look off the hook delicious ! I'm a huge pot head myself ! I bet that I use my InstantPot DUO60 at least three times a week. It's the most awesome kitchen tool that I've ever owned ! I've been using it for over a year and would be lost without it. Great video guys ! 😋
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for letting us know. Yeah the IP is a good product. Three times a week is pretty incredible. Yeah, these pot pies were great. And my stew video (where I made extra gravy) was very tasty as well. Please let us know how it goes if you decide to tackle this recipe.
What a great video. I loved your teaching me how to use my new Instant Pot making something I just love. It's almost fall and soon winter time here so will be sure to make it but will make a whole pie and invite our friends over. Thanks and keep on teaching us.
Thank you Sherri, glad it was helpful for you. Yeah, I wanted to show how to cook the recipe, but also show how to use the cooker since many people don't show the details of how it works. Yeah, you can cook up a big beef pie. I did a different video doing beef stew. Forgot if it was on the IP or the Cosori, but they are almost identical. Watch that one too if you want to make a beef stew. Once again, thanks for watching.
Thanks 99F. I was trying to teach how this pressure cooker works, in addition to showing this recipe. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. We appreciate it.
Thanks Millie! They come out so cute in these little springform pans. You can make this is a regular pie pan tho if you don't have the springform. I believe i put a link in the description to the little pans. I am anxious to use them for other things...like pies and little cakes.
I couldn't imagine desiring any pot pie at all...but given it is you two I wanted to watch....I loved every moment-I so want to do this ! I just love that I'm going to be able to accomplish this...I shared in another video when making muffin meatloaf(s) I was going to give them to an uncle a good distance away(Hospice) & they were so successful & such a surprise, I'm going to do the same with this...can I freeze them? You two are a winning combination in every way...cannot put into words how good I feel when watching any of your videos...and afterwards...I learn so much...I laugh often at you Eric & your comments...you're an entertainer...and Amy...well...she's just got a permanent place right here in our home...we love visiting with her...well it's almost like a real visit... Here's to you both ! Thanks for everything.
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoy our videos and even give the recipes a try. Thanks for letting us know about the muffin meatloaf. I don't know why you couldn't freeze them. Just do your best to get rid of the air if not using a food saver. If using Ziplock bags, maybe cover in freezer paper or just make sure to not leave them in there too long. Glad you watch us for entertainment as well. My biggest concern is that if people ONLY watch for watching, then it doesn't matter how the food turns out, right? But if one person actually dared to try the recipe, then it had better work or else it's not going to be pleasant. So we do our best to teach and show how to cook so anyone can do it. Thank you for all the kind words. You are very kind and thoughtful. We definitely appreciate that. Glad I inspired you to try the pot pie. It is very tasty and has a fraction of the chemicals the Banquet TV dinner ones have. LOL!!! We have a lot of videos on the way. Just need to get them edited and uploaded.
We luv our Instant Pot !!! And now we have a recipe for pot pies using it. I just added the mini springform pans to my Christmas List. Thank you for the recipe.
I am going to make this recipe this weekend. I appreciate all the details. I don't have an IP right now but will try regular pot. Going to get IP with some of my Christmas money. Nice work!
Don't remember if we did an unboxing. We used this on the show for the Turkey Broth video. Did you see that one? It was delicious and saved a ton of time.
They look amazing Eric, I have never made beef pot pies before, only chicken. That recipe is very similar to my beef stew recipe which my family loves. I am going to try this soon. You looked a bit nervous but you were great, Just enjoy it. You know what you are doing and that is the most important thing. Hope Amy feels better soon. Have a great day,..
Thank you for watching and the complement. I'm glad you like this. Yes, I would treat this like a beef stew recipe. I only suggested smaller pieces because of the individual pies are kinda small. If you are baking in a larger container, then regular stew size should work. I was only nervous a bit in that Amy did not help me film, except for her small part. I always like a second set of eyes on the camera to make sure I don't goof. I'd hate to have it all cooked and find out I forgot to turn on the second (close-up_) camera, like I did when I made the huge oatmeal cookies :-( Amy's fine. We filmed this a few weeks back during our Christmas break. I just didn't have time to edit it. I appreciate your words. I had only used this Instant Pot once before with this recipe (the trial run was equally tasty), but I wanted to convey on camera that it works well. I usually use a heavy pan to cook my stew meat, so the pressure cooker was an interesting change. If not being accused of TMI, Amy and her mom beat me once at a chili cook-off because I used a different pressure cooker. I had NO IDEA that this meat cooks so fast. I think I ran it for like an hour or more and scorched it so bad, it was horrible. I came in last. Only good thing was, that I had some tasty beer, so I didn't care too much about what the poor judges had to eat :-) LOL!!! Amy's fine. She wasn't feeling good for a few days on our break. She's back to her normal self. Please let us know how it turns out for you.
Thank you Janine. There are a million ways of doing these. I treated it like beef stew, but only smaller since these individual pans are smaller. If you are going to do a bigger pan or a casserole dish (stew with a crust or two), then you can go bigger. I hope you let us know how it turns out if you make some.
Get Wolfgang puck deep dish pot pie maker, it is a real time saver, I love mine. I make my pie crust with creme cheese because it is no fail, flaky crust every time! Thanks for the video.
Hope yall had a very blessed holiday season, Eric and Amy!! I really enjoyed this, Pot pies are mine and my hobby's favorite things. Can you get those small spring form pans at Kohl's or Walmart, or do I need to order them? Have a blessed New Year!!
I hope you had a nice holiday! I still can't believe that it is already over and 2017 is here! I have a link in the description for the mini springform pans. They are surprisingly inexpensive. Here it is if you can't find it: amzn.to/2igBBqa
Thank you for watching and subbing. We appreciate that. Please feel free to comment on anything. We like hearing from everybody, even if you try a recipe to let us know how it went.
What a nicely done video! I really want to try this recipe, and hope I can do it with my aroma pressure cooker. Thanks for your channel, I just subscribed.
Thanks for subbing. It's amazing what you can cook in a pressure cooker for say, 20 or 30 minutes under pressure. I have this video and the beef stew video. Most Aroma pressure cookers are also multi-cookers like the Insta Pot and the Cosori. So you can brown your meat in the cooker to save on dirtying a pan, or do it in the pan and save time. Up to you. Stew meat cooks fast. Chicken cooks fast. Really amazing. We made chicken bone stock in one of these. Saves a ton of time. Cook something and let us know how it goes.
Thanks for the kind words. Glad you liked it and subbed. Did you see the beef stew video I did? We also made some stock in a pressure cooker. We need to do more of these.
@@robertjorgensen6209 Yes. If you use my link, I get a small commission. It doesn't change the price you pay but it goes to help make more videos. Making videos is an expensive hobby and any little bit helps offset all the money that I lose on it.
Great video thank you for that I have just one question of something that is kind of bugging me what is the difference in using cornstarch or flour to thicken the gravy
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching. You can use either one, but I think cornstarch is a little more powerful in absorbing the liquid, thus takes a little less. But when making gravy, I'll use either one. For those that are gluten intolerant, they would prefer cornstarch.
I think I'll make chicken pot pies this week and beef pot pies next week, with pie crust from scratch. I've never liked store bought pot pies, although I've eaten them often. I made Hummingbird cake and sweet potato cornbread in silicone cake/loaf pans I recently bought because I like the idea of smaller cakes, smaller meatloaf, etc. Really looking forward to using them for pot pies, even though I have small springform pans. I have never made pot pies, so thanks for making it look easy, and delicious.
They need to bake. The IP doesn't really bake. Thus not a good idea . If you just "saute", it likely wouldn't cook either. If you have an air fryer, they may cook because that is just an expensive small convection oven. Hope that helps.
Thanks for watching, we appreciate it. Currently, no. We are working on a website that has all the recipes that you can search and print. So in the near future it will change. I'm sorry.
Thanks for watching, we appreciate it. I'm not sure what a "normal" pressure cooker is. There are stovetop models that have less safety features going all the way back to the ones my mom used years ago that have simple weights on the vent. You control the pressure by adjusting the stove burner temp. The electric ones adjust automatically so all you do is tell it how hot and how long and it takes care of the rest. They all feature interlocks keeping the lid from flying off (and preventing you) from removing the lid unless you manually defeat the device. That's about all I can think of. Does that help?
Is everything supposed to be so overcooked and soggy? Do the vegs still crunch and retain their nutrients? Sorry if I am used to fresh quick tasty stir-fry
Thanks for watching. In your case, you may want to cook the meat under pressure and add the veggies at the end like we do with the peas. That way your veggies are still raw like you like them. For people that usually cook their veggies, they can add them like I did, and they'll turn out fine. See my chunky beef stew for an alternate way to cook the veggies. Thanks.
You know you could freeze those, remove them from the pans, make more, freeze them. Then when ready put back in pans to bake. I would suggest sea salt rather than table salt which is literally just poison.
That sounds interesting. We just make them for lunch for the week and eat within three days and nuke to reheat. but if eating for dinner at a later time, then that would be neato to freeze and rebake in the pans. Thanks for watching. We appreciate it.
I want to get a pressure cooker for my family but I dont want to pay a arm and a leg I dont want the cheapest I would like one thats in the middle in price do you have one you would suggest I would greatly appreciate it ...you and Amy have a great Sunday ... thanks again for sharing
Thanks for watching. Amy's in negotiations right now to get a pressure cooker for review purposes. So we'll see how that turns out. It looks like the Fagor at Macy's is $60-$70 for 4 qt/6qt or this InstantPot is $100, but it does a lot of cool things. Perhaps Amy can chime in. Keep your eyes peeled as we hope to try out pressure cooker review.
The beef pie is so good. Once you start eating it, you won't be thinking about the window blinds. Just keep your eyes on what is important and leave the small stuff alone. Thanks for watching and have a Happy New Year.
Oh man, those looked awesome. I love pot pies but I'm not to fond of the ones you buy in the stores. Could you tell me what brand of piecrust you used? The reason I ask is because I bought Pillsbury pie crust one time to make a pot pie and it turned out looking great. I let it cool and put one on my plate and took a big bite of it and I was like whoa, something is way off. Then it dawned in me that it was sweet, I'm like what the hell? So get the piecrust box and start reading the ingredients and there is sugar in the crust. It just really ruined my pot pies. I'm 61 years old and I don't recall ever seeing my mom, or any of my aunts or my grannies use sugar in a pie crust. Maybe some people do, but no one in my family ever did.
Thanks for watching. I honestly can't tell you. Our supermarket sells a name brand, probably Pillsbury, and a store brand. I've used the name brand. I don't recall any sweetness from sugar, but will have to look the next time I'm in that aisle.
Oh, can't complain. Just made a couple of Samosas that turned out ok. The yoghurt, mint, onion and feta mixed to ones taste was just good enough to eat by itself, but I digress. Will definitely try the pot pie as soon as I get those pans that come apart.
+Sharon La Tour Hi Sharon! It was the same cold. We shot the footage two weeks ago but I just got around to editing and uploading it. We've been so busy the last few weeks. Hopefully things will settle down a little now that the holidays are over. I hope you had a nice one!
Hi Grace! They are stainless steel portion cups. You can get them on Amazon. Here is a link to the 1.5 oz amzn.to/2jw64hW and the 2.5 oz amzn.to/2iGQWOO
+julee nave You definitely do not want to deep fry in a pressure cooker. It is only done in a commercial pressure fryer that has a heavy latched lid and is built for pressure frying. They are very expensive. Deep frying in a home pressure cooker is dangerous.
How to cook white eggs? boil, scramble, poach, fry, bake? What do you want to use them in or for what? Amy did a scrambled egg video and showed how to boil/steam eggs so the shells come off easy.
She's had it for a while. But while Mardie's response is hilarious, it isn't quite true. Amy did KNOW where the IP was. She just couldn't get to it. LOL!!! I think we've used it a few times. It is really nice once you figure it out, which wasn't too hard, even for me.
Not in this since it's kinda small. I made a CHUNKY Beef Stew that has plenty in it. If you feel like dicing up some potatoes for this, then go for it. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching. Yeah, this is basically a small version of beef stew. I've already come to my senses. :-) When I do my beef stew video, I'll use big chunks of beef and potatoes!
This looks like fun to make. I would add Worcestershire to the gravy.
That sounds like a good recommendation. Thanks.
“What happened to the pies??” I busted out laughing at that!!!😂 Great video!!

FREEZE them in the springform pans then remove them and freeze them till later!!
I am inspired. I recently purchased 3 of the spring form pans and didn't know exactly what to do with them. Now I know. Thank you.
They are great! I am going to make some individual pies and cakes in them. I can't wait! Have you used them yet?
Good recipie. I can't wait to make it.
I can't wait to try this out!! Banquet pot pies have become crap over the years.

We recently purchased an Instant Pot & we LOVE it! Wonderful recipe, looks delicious, definitely better than store bought, YUM!
Thank you Tina. I agree with everything you just said. Very yum. Hope you give it a try. That and the beef stew recipe.
Thank you so so much for the recipe O just made 3 pies with this recipe and now our lunches will be easy to reheat .

I like that you have most natural ingredients. I also like you use air fryer on some of your recipes.
Way to go Eric. Definately checking out the pie crust recipe.
Thanks Tim. Yes, go to Amy's website. You can hit up the recipe there and print it out. Glad you liked the video.
this guys demeanor is really pleasant
Thanks 99F. I was trying to teach how this pressure cooker works, in addition to showing this recipe. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. We appreciate it.
Those are too cute. You did a fabulous job Eric and Amy. I gotta get me some of those mini springform pans. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Ann. Glad you enjoyed this. It was fun to make. I love stew, or in this case, beef pot pies.
Love your video's Eric & Amy. I will definitely try this one, looks delicious. I never thought of making them in my mini spring form pans, great idea.
Thanks Millie! They come out so cute in these little springform pans. You can make this is a regular pie pan tho if you don't have the springform. I believe i put a link in the description to the little pans. I am anxious to use them for other things...like pies and little cakes.

Thanks sunshine. I'm glad you enjoyed this. Yeah, I'm funny in my own way too! Happy Holidays!!!!!
Yum, I have never made beef pot pie only turkey and chicken.
It is delicious!!! Thanks for watching!
Looks great, I'm really hungry now..
Thanks!
Y'all did it right! Very nice videos! Thank you!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. I did a chunky beef stew as well. Made some last night. Will be eating it for the next three days. :-)

How could you make these without an oven? 100% instant pot made? Any suggestions
They need to bake. The IP doesn't really bake. Thus not a good idea . If you just "saute", it likely wouldn't cook either. If you have an air fryer, they may cook because that is just an expensive small convection oven. Hope that helps.
Do you have these recipes written somewhere? Thanks for the demo!
Thanks for watching, we appreciate it. Currently, no. We are working on a website that has all the recipes that you can search and print. So in the near future it will change. I'm sorry.
great lookin mix Eric, reckon I'll give it a go, hope u ok mate.
Thanks. Amy had those pans so we made these pot pies. Otherwise, I have a chunky beef stew recipe with potatoes.
yeah,I like them, not sure if I've seen them before but they rock.
Yeah...do a chunky Beef Stew One,See if u can find a old Aussie Recipe for a bonza twist ;-)
How's is this different then a normal pressure cooker?
Thanks for watching, we appreciate it. I'm not sure what a "normal" pressure cooker is. There are stovetop models that have less safety features going all the way back to the ones my mom used years ago that have simple weights on the vent. You control the pressure by adjusting the stove burner temp. The electric ones adjust automatically so all you do is tell it how hot and how long and it takes care of the rest. They all feature interlocks keeping the lid from flying off (and preventing you) from removing the lid unless you manually defeat the device. That's about all I can think of. Does that help?
Will let ya know how I go, Thank you Both ;-)
Is everything supposed to be so overcooked and soggy? Do the vegs still crunch and retain their nutrients? Sorry if I am used to fresh quick tasty stir-fry
Thanks for watching. In your case, you may want to cook the meat under pressure and add the veggies at the end like we do with the peas. That way your veggies are still raw like you like them. For people that usually cook their veggies, they can add them like I did, and they'll turn out fine. See my chunky beef stew for an alternate way to cook the veggies. Thanks.
PS, Great video Eric!
Thanks Sharon. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Eric Learns to Cook
okay thank you
Instant Pot is the best according to the reviews I have read.
Instant Pot is the way to go. In any case a pressure cooker is invaluable.
Tonya Shaik Mohamed just paid 60 bucks New instant pot on eBay..used it the day I got it
loved the recipe, but I wanted to fix that window blind so bad!!
Also the store bought ones break apart every time yo remove them from the container.
Yup and then makes a mess once it bakes and leaks everywhere. Thanks for watching. How have you been David?
Oh, can't complain. Just made a couple of Samosas that turned out ok.
The yoghurt, mint, onion and feta mixed to ones taste was just good enough to eat by itself, but I digress.
Will definitely try the pot pie as soon as I get those pans that come apart.
Eric, you're my kind of cook...recipes says so I'll guesstimate. Your moo needs work. And Amy,, you really have beautiful hands.
+Mardie Scott Thanks Mardie. We shot the footage when I had a cold so I stayed off camera. I should have my own chicken version up soon.
Oh my Amy, you have another cold?? Hope you feel better soon!
+Sharon La Tour Hi Sharon! It was the same cold. We shot the footage two weeks ago but I just got around to editing and uploading it. We've been so busy the last few weeks. Hopefully things will settle down a little now that the holidays are over. I hope you had a nice one!
Mardie, thank you for your kind words. Yeah, my moo does need more work, so I guess I'll just have to do more meat recipes. LOL!!!!!
AmyLearnsToCook can you do how to fix perfect white eggs
I would add some of my dehydrated bell pepper......lots
Sounds good!
If you want so.etging to brown, don't stir it. Let it set until it is brown and flip it over
Where did you get those little stainless steel prep cups? I've been looking for something like that!
Hi Grace! They are stainless steel portion cups. You can get them on Amazon. Here is a link to the 1.5 oz amzn.to/2jw64hW and the 2.5 oz amzn.to/2iGQWOO
AmyLearnsToCook thank you so much! I made chicken pot pie today and adjusted the recipe for it. Can't wait to try the beef one soon!
Thank you for watching. Please let us know how the beef recipe turns out.
Eric Learns to Cook a
Yum!!!!
Yum, indeed!!! Thanks for watching.
Chuck is tender soft
Looks so good!
Thanks!
Thank you Shirley. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, it is very delicious!!!
Eric, can you pressure fry with the instant pot?
+julee nave You definitely do not want to deep fry in a pressure cooker. It is only done in a commercial pressure fryer that has a heavy latched lid and is built for pressure frying. They are very expensive. Deep frying in a home pressure cooker is dangerous.
Where do I get that little gun? I need one!!!! Lol but seriously!
Looks like the most dangerous cooker rings I've ever seen
Could I put potted in it
can you do how to cook white eggs
How to cook white eggs? boil, scramble, poach, fry, bake? What do you want to use them in or for what? Amy did a scrambled egg video and showed how to boil/steam eggs so the shells come off easy.
Where can u get the recipe
It's on Amy's Website.
OH>>>MY>>>GOSH!!!! I was wondering when Amy and Eric were going to get an IP!!!
I'll bet they've had it for a while and she just found it in the pan room putting away her Christmas goodies.
She's had it for a while. But while Mardie's response is hilarious, it isn't quite true. Amy did KNOW where the IP was. She just couldn't get to it. LOL!!! I think we've used it a few times. It is really nice once you figure it out, which wasn't too hard, even for me.
Yeah..I've had it for a while. We did a video about a year ago using it to make turkey stock. I am just starting to use it. Do you have one Sharon?
Yes I do, but i've not used it yet. I'm going to soon!
No potatoes?
Not in this since it's kinda small. I made a CHUNKY Beef Stew that has plenty in it. If you feel like dicing up some potatoes for this, then go for it. Thanks for watching.
Is that Amy?
LOL!
Yes, she made a secret guest appearance on my episode. I'll have her announce herself next time. :-) LOL!!!
give me about 10 minutes with those 3 pot pies, and see what happens
Thanks for watching. I don't think we'd still have 3 pies after 10 minutes. :-) Might have to fight you for them. LOL!!!
But you are intelligent
Potatoes??? Gotta have potatoes in my beef pot pie.
Thanks for watching. Yeah, this is basically a small version of beef stew. I've already come to my senses. :-) When I do my beef stew video, I'll use big chunks of beef and potatoes!
Dude, are you ok?,cool vid...but hope all is good?
Thanks for watching. I'm OK. Thanks for asking.
cool mate glad to hear,by the way ,I'm in Australia, hope you keep on cook'in mate, ;-)
Ruby Dooby

"You don't want your pot blowing up on you."
