- Today, Moon discusses Honkai: Star Rail's v2.3 Character Firefly, as she was recently revealed and I go over reasons why she might be one of the easiest or hardest decisions for Players, because of Robin, Boothill, and so on. Firefly/Sam will be a Fire Destruction Character, who might be able to bring something brand new depending on what Firefly's Kit does! Firefly will be the first banner in Version 2.3, and I go over what she might be able to do kit-wise! I go over what she may potentially be able to bring to the table and why you should save and summon for Firefly, or if you should skip her.
Version 2.2 will have Robin and Boothill as the new five-star characters, while Version 2.2 will be starting off with Firefly!

wait firefly sets the dream sea ablaze? sounds like soemthign i did and gonna try it a few more times if can remember to do it while being lucid, spawn a match in a dream and throw it into the lake, something tells me the water in dreams is not water, first time tried it it set ablaze and turned like a minecraft swamp biome color as if it was 80% water and 20% unknown flammable mats. unfortinatly all these test have to be done in FULL nuterality or else the effect will be just what the mind generates. you can also get to "dream's ege" also more commonly known as "asteral hell" by noclipping super fast in a dream and it gets more and more anomalous.

Thankfully, i lost my 50/50 on zesturine a couple days back at 30 pity and could not be more excited. Firefly being drip marketed means EASY Firefly/Sam pulls for me. I loved Sam as a mercilessly ruthless killer and it to be our adorable homie firefly is very funny to me. Love the reveal at the end of 2.1

I lost aventurine too and am trying to pull him due to my lack of sustains, but I will still try pulling firefly after skipping 2.2 :)

Well, on the other hand, Topaz is depicted on the Trend of the Universal Market light cone, which she can't use effectively since it's on the Preservation path. Sam's light cone seems perfect for Blade.
I actually took a look at every Light Cone. *Nearly* all of them at least have one character of the playable path on them. There are a few groups of exception though.
Some LCs that have an off-path character featured, but have an on-path character in the art: Trend of the Universal Market (Topaz featured, Aventurine in right background), Subscribe for More! (Guinaifen featured, Sushang in the foreground), Final Victor (Aventurine featured, Dr. Ratio in the foreground), We Will Meet Again (Screwllum featured, Silver Wolf in the foreground), Destiny's Threads Forewoven (has Black Swan in background, Firefly, Sparkle, and Aventurine in foreground), and Hey, Over Here (features Guinaifen and Tail, Huo Huo in background).
But there *are* some LCs that feature playable characters of different paths than the cone outright: We Are Wildfire (features Seele), Dance! Dance! Dance! (features Hook and Clara), and Return to Darkness (features Hanya and Xueyi)
And some LCs featuring non-playable characters altogether: The Day The Cosmos Fell (featuring Ruan Mei's creations), Woof! Walk time! (features Peppy) and Dreamville Adventure (featuring Clockie).
So while Flames Afar isn't guaranteed to be a good fit for Firefly, to me it feels way closer to What Is Real? being a craftable option for Gallagher.
The LC is still good for firefly due to seeing her kit in my dreams.
The fact that the DMG buff on Sam’s light cone last so long makes me think that with her skill she might be able to turn into Sam for 3 turns by consuming her HP
I've seen the leaks and all I'll say is its close to that. I won't say anything else though so it doesn't spoil it.

Yeah i think it will be something akin to turning into Sam and staying in that form while draining HP, once you go below a certain HP threshold she will change out of the form again. Something along those lines, we'll see.
It could be like a Jingliu style enhanced state. The armour could be an enhanced state that drains her health or something until she has to emerge from it.
I’m really tempted by Boothill’s break abilities but if Firefly is directly after him I think I have to skip.
Her enhance state is so much better than JL. JL is limited by her attack charges while firefly will be limited by av meaning she can do four or five enhance attacks during that state unlike JL who is limited by the number of actions her enhance state provide.

Firefly and Ruan Mei are the priority for me. I always do at least one ten pull if its a character I remotely want though since sometimes you actually get them early though and if you don't you don't lose much.
This is how my friend got Acheron and sparkle just a 10 pull . They do a 10 pull every banner and save for someone they want
I like this method! It’s how I got Luocha. I did a random ten pull on Luocha’s banner instead since I needed a healer and got him at 7 pity! Firefly and Ruan Mei are my next priorities too.
I might drop a ten pull on Robin’s next for Dr. Ratio’s sake, but nothing more until Firefly drops~

Element coverage remains a main goal. The two elements I still miss are Fire and Wind!
Sam is an absolute badass, Firefly is adorable beyond words... I see this as an absolute win 👌
Next goal is a new 5-star healer 🧐 Hopefully someone who -delves into- INFLICTS follow-ups or DoTs.

@@termina2737 I love Blade but he never dropped at convenient times for me. The 1st time, I had to save for Jingliu. The 2nd time, I had to save for Acheron. And every time (especially the 2nd time), it was painful because I really like Blade 😅
Bruh DoT already have a Healer in Houhou, and FuA already have Adventurine which is far superior (Shielder > Healer consider the trash gear quality of the game mean more effective HP is better).
@@tienvu1282 1- I prefer healers, even if it's not always the better option
2- Huohuo doesn't inflict DoT. I'm talking about a healer who could deal actual DoT or follow-ups as a part of their kit. Also I love Huohuo as a character but not as a unit. She's a child, I don't use children (yes I'm like that).
3- I play casually with characters I wanna use, pure gameplay considerations are not my thing

I'm of the same opinion as you, I'd much rather have a firefly in combat that takes the form of SAM during the ulti (and a little mechanic from a very old leak), than some people who say we'll only have Firefly out of combat and as soon as we enter a fight we're in the SAM version. We'll see what happens. Anyway, sorry about Aventurine and 2.2, but I'm going to have to save up for this crush. We'll just have to see about the reruns and the second character in 2.3 ❤
I'm still kinda new but I really like boothill, but sam is the one that got me into honkai star rail I will just have to wait till the broadcast for the 2.3 UGHHHH I WANT THEM BOTH
Unfortunately or fortunately for you, based on the trend of hoyoverse, the 2.3 livestream would probably happen after the end of boothil's banner. So, in this case, it'd be best to look at the leaks for hsr about Sam's kit.

For boothill I'm probably going to have to pull for his light cone to being that I don't have Ruan Mei but i saw some leaks for firefly kit but I have to do some more digging and plus stuff can change to after 2.2, whyyyy is being a new player sooooo hard these characters ate bad ass I don't usually like the female characters

All three it is! Have only pulled for Sparkle and Ruan Mei since the start of 1.5, so I've got a bunch of jades saved up. Acheron and Aventurine were both really cool, but I do not at all regret skipping them to get three of my favourite characters/designs in the game.
Im getting firefly cause I felt so emotional for her, a few that made me so emotional, especially for her condition she has when she told us in that secret place and she suffers so much that I want to get her to make sure shes always safe and that my trailblazer will take care of her 😊
My only supports harmony are tinguyn bronya and yukong and my current dps is acheron, what should i pull for? New fire dps for elemental coverage or harmony supports?

Saving all for the best girl Firefly. Also I’m banking on you being Firefly for the fight but having a transform mechanic to switch over to Sam mode, whether it be like a stack count from skill usage or having the HP reach a certain threshold.
I'm positive she'll also have a hp mechanic with the burning so more preservation shielders would be great
I always toss around the idea what if Firefly/Sam had an Argenti ult. if you cast it at 100(+) you get their base form kit, if you cast it at 160, you get not only their ult but they transform between the two forms
the only strong competition Firefly has for me right now would be if Sunday gets drip marketed next. destruction path is so back!! I was gonna pick up Topaz if she reran but.... Aventurine and Ratio are doing pretty well on their own I guess... as a low spender it's hard to justify going for multiple DPS of the same element so close together.
if space cowboy is really cool, I might try my luck to get both, especially since they announced that new game mode for 2.3 that will be good for the hunt path.
I already have Acheron E2S1 and Jingliu E2S1. I want to get Firefly as well, but I'm questioning if I actually need another DPS? I also need a Harmony for Acheron as I didn't manage to get Sparkle.
I love Boothill! His design is so cool :) So I'm saving up for him no matter what. Even if I already have Argenti E1.
I’m definitely saving for and pulling Firefly. I skipped Acheron and was waiting for the drip marketing before maybe getting aventurine. And as much as I want Robin… I’m definitely skipping everyone until Firefly.
Still gonna go for Robin, literally because Aventurine came really early for me. Probably gonna skip Boothill, so I can at least get enough to go ALL IN for Firefly; as Aventurine would say. After that, I'm on team building/saving mode.
I'd definitely like to get kit information first as I could definitely use both a Physical and Fire damage unit. But I think I'm leaning towards Firefly at the moment just because of the mecha aesthetic. I'm hoping Firefly's ult is similar to the GHGDR: Supernova Overload (Boss Sam's ultimate).

I'm torn between Robin or Firefly because i missed Ruan Mei because of IRL stuff, and when Acheron was announced i dedicated myself on saving for her which means i skipped Sparkle too. Now this happens again should i pull for Robin or Firefly considering i currently have 28 gold tickets and on 50/50 for my pity
With the announcement of the new game mode for 2.3, I'm wondering if they intend for Topaz to be good at the new single-target bossing mode, Himeko to be good in PF, and then Firefly to be a specialist for MoC, because it kind of feels that way with how they've laid out the rest of the fire units and the modes. Or will Firefly just stomp in everything since she's basically the first fire hypercarry that we've ever gotten and a very popular character at that. In either case, gonna save for her.

TWO swords, actually! Sam dual wields swords with a reverse grip so the second sword is harder to notice, but it's definitely there!
Sam's knight visor is pulled up as well, showing the "eyes". so it seems to be something like a second form

I have to see Firefly's her kit and know if it either ignores weakness or implants a weakness so I can use her anywhere like Archeron. I have to see the 2nd character of patch and make sure its not a best in slot support for Archeron.
if I have Sparkle and Bronya do I need Robin? I do not have Ruan Mei as I took a break while the time she came out and missed the banner so I wanted to know if I should go for Robin and yes I also need firefly I am lacking fire characters I can use.
I say skip Robin since Ruan Mei will re run with fire fly or shortly after . Also maybe a new trail blazer variant will be good substitute

as someone who lacks both good physical (sorry clara) and fire units. and who's E2S1 acheron ruined my f2p jade reserves I'm a bit stuck. boothill may be really good for the new end game mode but on the other hand firefly and sam need i say more.

I think a really sick addition that Hoyo could add to the game is the idea of “Faction” bonuses or buffs. I understand not every individual in a faction synergizes with others, but it would make the game incredibly interesting. I think there’s a lot of uniqueness that would go into team composition. It wouldn’t just always be the best individual units anymore

I have RM and Bronya E1 but no Sparkle. Havent decided if I'm pulling for Robin, I just don't know! I don't want to waste stellar jades on her if she's only going to be better than Ruan Mei on followup teams. I don't have Topaz either, so I feel like if I pull Robin I also need Topaz since I have a built ratio and Clara, but part of me thinks I should just go all in on E1S1 Firefly and pair her with Huohuo, RM, Harmony TB.

I'm super hyped for Firefly. I don't really care for either of the 2.2 characters and I desperate for a good fire unit so Firefly is gonna be dope. And seeing that Sam has a sword is really cool too cause it links back to in the story just before meeting Sam, the characters talk about how the monsters were killed by an actual blazing weapon, not just Sams punches since I think it makes reference to cuts n such. I could be wrong but I could have sworn it did.

I think almost every destruction characters will have some type of hp drain manipulation. Hunt, turn manipulation.Nihility,debuffs.Harmony,buffs.Abundance heals and preservation protection. They all seem to have a certain niche atm.

@linuxramblingproductions8554 The game is new. It's a trend. I think it will become more prominent in them. Clara does, in a way, have a pseudo hp drain she wants to be hit, so no 4/8. Firefly kit isn't even out yet so who knows

I just pulled an E2 himeko from losing 50/50 and for me, she's mainly built for pure fiction on my account while pulling for aventurine. I guess I could just pull for firefly since I do need a dedicated fire dps.

I predict her kit could may circulate around energy steal from teammates in order to keep her enhanced form. Fun prediction since blade takes his own hp, Dan il sp and jingliu teammates hp

I’m sure she’s going to be awesome, but I really need (and want) a limited five-star sustain more than anything right now, and Fu Xuan is probably rerunning soon (maybe even at the same time).
I am severely lacking a good fire DPS. I was saving my 300 standard pulls for Himeko for pure fiction, but if Firefly is good at PF & MOC then I’ll pull Bronya (already have Sparkle). Snacks I like beef jerky or gummy bears 😊
I’m a new player only played about 2 weeks. My pulling plan is pretty simple. I have Jingliu and I’m now building team around her my next mission is to pull for Acheron and a team around her. My 2 favorite characters are Jingliu and Acheron so everyone that doesn’t benefit them is a skip. Also Acheron banner just passed so I will have to wait awhile for her rerun but that gives me more time to save and pick up supports like sparkle/ruan mei whenever they come back (also possibly Silver Wolf).
I'm going all out for robin (follow up attack meta) and firefly (new destruction meta)

however if Boothill turns out to be Insane i might be pulling him because of new game mode and we all know that they time game modes and MOC/PF buffs to match the on banner characters so he is probably amazing for the new endgame mode

I think she would work similarly to Jingliu. She may have a certain stack mechanic and if she gets enough stack, she transforms into Sam. While Sam, she would be a DPS role while as herself, I think she could do buff to the ally.

I'm a husbando collector and I have every male character except for welt (he doesn't want to come home) so Boothill is my top priority xD However if I get boothill early I will def pull for firefly because technically (hopefully im not alone on this) sam is also a husbando. The sword in the art is a pretty cool detail. Now we know none are showing the true extend of their ability in her fight against Acheron.
it does not matter whether you're lacking a dps of a certain element or not
boothill can inflict phys weakness with his technique and ult - can just bruteforce
firefly can inflict fire weakness with something after u get e1 - also can bruteforce just need e1
Bruteforce is rng, if your character has decent stats then you can brute force and eidolon is just a bonus even i can do some run no eidolon well it just investment to some chars anyway
