- If, like me, you just love to beat match your music like we did in the olden days, and your controller doesn't have any cogwheels, then in this video you're going to learn how to manually beat match using your midi controller.

been a dj for 34 years, no more decks, no more controller, but i do have 2 X'1 mk1s and a z1, (also: external analog mixer & NI audio4), so finding this now, has just breathed life back into my original Dj style, and just ... well, i thank you. from the bottom of (not just) my heart but my ''everything'' as the music and dj'ing is THAT deeply imbedded into ALL OF ME. EVERY SINGLE BIT
cheers, ya?

This man has heaven guaranteed
You deserve the best, really thank you.
Junior Cyrino aww thank you!
Needed this! Thanks mate.
No problem 👍
you keep blowing my mind with the depths that you take traktor to. thanks man!
thanks my friend - super stoked that you're enjoying the videos!
AWSOME! thank you!
thanks hugh laurie
Thank you for your work and time
Joao Trigo you’re welcome. Thanks for the comment.
Gonna give this a go with my K2, would be sweet to mix traktor tracks with my vinyl
is it working well?
I'm about to do the same configuration
In your example mix, were the encoders/jog used just to nudge the track into phase? It looked like both tracks were already had their beatgrid set and the tempo was matched.
Super useful that I found this video, thanks! Just yesterday I had tried something similar but I set my encoder to nudge or something like that and it didn’t work as expected. I didn’t know about the jog parameter.
ok but what how about your Vinyl is set as master track, and you wanna switch to traktor ? is it possible to mix it with a k2 controller for example ?
Really nice bro! I have no controller yet but sounds really nice workaround.
Matheus Alves hope you ended up getting deeper into traktor! 👍🏼
That's a really good point! I was looking to get a DJ controller in place of my Z2 and sl1210... but yeah... where is the fun in SYNC mixing... I haven't tried it, maybe I should I just save money and make more room on my desk... makes sense. Cheers bru!
how'd you go with it?
I hope you kept the Z2, I've just moved from an S4 Mk2 to a Z2 and the sound is so much better. I also get on the decks more because I don't need the laptop connected to play the 1210's :)
thanks i have a chance to get some use X1 but needed to know how to get the bend feature out of them....that is the only way to mix.... question so you just go from the orgin setup to the midi one you created by just pushing the button so you still have the search feature working....
Keith dude sorry about the late reply. In answer to your question, yes. You can set up a ‘midi’ page that you can simply switch to at the push of a button. (Using the ‘shift’ button in the controller)
thank you a lot been looking how to do this in novation nocturne :))))
Glad I could help!
Will all the other functions of the x1 be default settings or would I have to map them myself if I wanted use this map for pitch control and jog?
If you stay in MIDI mode, you will have to re-map the other functions. Or... do like he's doing in the video and switch back & forth from MIDI mode & Standard NI mode.
good tip
mas mony glad you like! 🤘🏼👍🏼
I like to remove the phase meters and bpm display to avoid mixing by eye instead of by ear.
no problem - that's the best thing to do.... Preferences > Deck Layout > Deck Header > Uncheck "Show phase meter"
@@traktortips Didn't know it could be hidden. Thanks for the tip!
Dr House
thanks for this great information ! but is there and solution for the beat jump? its jumping only 1 beat ? can we change it?
hi there - yes you can go into the mapping and set the beat jump to whatever number you like in the "button option" section.
