I totally agree. The shows I get most immersed in are those that I usually miss for a few years (I don't start watching until multiple seasons have been released), then I can marathon every season and not lose momentum. 2026 for the next season?? I can't guarantee I will still care by then.

2026.. They'll lose most viewers. Let's see how many things they change and retcons in the next 2 years. They need to be consistent with the characters and stoyline. Season 1 was hard to get into but redeemed itself. Season 2 felt jarring due to so many differences from season 1.. but eventually redeemed itself. Now 2 year wait for something that again is prob going to start of poorly and we have to wait for it to get good? Idk.
I hate cliffhanger endings I want season 3 now because I’m well aware of the whole story right now.. after few years ill probably disconnect or lose the hype, hope they make a new one asap and improve storyline/action wise

Laughing at the concept of how trash overall that a few super soldiers keep humanity from falling to a far superior alien enemy, who seems to spend it’s time hanging about doing squat. How those super soldiers repeatedly defeat a superior enemy using inferior tech, which is useless in the hands of regular humanity. Or Spartans poach alien weapons mid battle, only to toss them aside seemingly on a whim.
It’s not like they’re Astartes who’ll be executed or mind wiped by their Chapter for using the tools of the Alien…..

as far as I am concerned "kiki wolfkill" has humped that proverbial bunk since day 1. She & the other executives have taken the show far beyond its original storyline and fucked it 15 ways from sunday without so much as a second thought about whether or not they should do the things the way that they did.
It's another classic case of too many executive fingers deep in the writer's cookie dough and making a mess out of it. Once the writer's dough bowl was thoroughly fucked up they said, Okay, now we can make some nice cookies... never mind that the writer's dough was thoroughly fucked up from over mixing and too goddamned many ingredients tossed in.
You see, instead of leaving the writers alone and letting them do the job that they hired them to do, they took the ideas and things that were penned down so beautifully and began interjecting, writing, rewriting and adding their own specialized bullshit to the mix. They did this so much that the original story got lost, or was completely eliminated.
We have 2 characters that NEVER belonged, kwan-haa & soren. Both of them each, went their own way and both had their very own specialized story line, and plot that has little or nothing to do with the original halo story. Each time they bring them back it's only for a few seconds. What really pissed me off is how kwan suddenly had the know-how, knowledge and amazing wisdom and foresight to solve the riddle of the maproom on that distant planet. She somehow, someway and mysteriously, outsmarted 2 of the UNSC's brightest technical minds and made those 2 geniuses look like complete morons and idiots.
Dr. Halsey & her daughter were NEVER a part of the original Halo Lore, although Halsey was mentioned a few times.
Captain Keyes, Halsey's supposed ex-husband was never promoted in the original halo story line and plot, and he sure as hell did NOT die.
I can see and understand why they wanted to include other halo super soldiers like Vannak-134 & Kai-125. But soren never belonged. They appropriately killed off vannak in episode 6 of season 2. Then they brought kwan back into the mix and all she did was to add more confusion. She became a deadly assassin & mercenary and then bartered her way into servitude as an indentured slave on Rubble, soren's home that did not and DOES NOT belong in the halo story at all. It's a side shot that only served to fracture and break the original halo story line and plot. It serves no useful purpose. At the end of season 2, kwan haa disappeared and went her own way again and soren was also going his own way but without his wife, who never belonged either.
this version of the halo story was fucked from day 1. There are so many hateful reviews made about it, and I'm one of them making hateful reviews.
We saw "The Master Chief, John-117" take on his archenemy and kill him. Then we saw him follow Makee, another character that never belonged in the original story... we saw the master chief follow her into the structure on the Halo Ring.
And of course, the writers fucked up even more because when we SAW master chief enter the structure he was fine. Not only was he fine, his amour suit helmet was also fine and not damaged, save for the one small crack that he got at the end of season 1. But the final scene of master chief shows him looking out of the broken and fragmented face HUD Face Shield How the fuck did that happen?
Apparently kiki wolfkill doesn't give a shit about accuracy of the story line, and she obviously doesn't give a shit about continuity which this whole fucked up series has been lacking since day1. She's just throwing a hodgepodge of dogshit into the writer's cookie dough bowl and telling them, here, make some cookies out of this...not giving a shit if the cookies (aka "script and the screenplay) will even work and make nice tasty morsels of cookies.
I played the game and won every level from beginner to the final chapter. I watched the video clips that told the stories one at a time and was awed at the brilliant writing and the strategies used to make a clean, powerful and compelling story line. This whole fucking shit series has none of that. I played the game through and then gave it away because I knew it intimately.
This piece of shit show had so much potential. But the only resemblance it has to the original story and plot is its name, which is taken from the game that I thoroughly enjoyed. I have NOT enjoyed even the slightest piece of this shit at all... kiki wolfkill & the paramount execs are responsible for destroying what had once been a favorite story for all who played and enjoyed the Halo Video & Computer RPG Game... myself included.

I love that they took the concepts introduced in Halo and are telling a brand new story with it. Totally different story elements. Different themes altogether.
If you want Halo, go play Halo. But I like to see what they can do creatively with the story.
It's a different take on Halo. And one I really enjoy.
The biggest problem I have with this... is due to all the negatives you mentioned.. this show will not achieve enough praise and viewership for anyone else to ever consider doing such a high budget, high production value Halo show/movie. They'll use this as the example why Halo just isn't popular enough to justify the expense when it's actually just the poor execution that is killing it. One bad Halo movie or show done by 343 or some small studio.. no big deal. Paramount can't make it profitable, well they are also destroying future possibilities for all of us.
