  • The sparrows tensioning wheel review. A very nicely done spring loaded tensioning wheel. The points in this review are my personal opinions.

    I adore the concept of teaching the tension part of picking. More important than pushing up pins.
    But the whole point of blocking the view is well as your movement of the pick. But as a learning tool to understand the importance of tension, it is a great tool.
    Thanks for sharing

      Steel Pinnings exactly mate. It has its good points and some bad points. As I said for raking or pick guns it's great. For teaching tension it's great but yeah it limits your feel when spp'ing and does block your view. Thank you for watching mate I really appreciate your support. Have a great week my friend 👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🖖🍻🖖

    Good honest review mate 👍😎
    Its a great concept and i agree with your pros and cons, and i hold the pick the same way with my middle finger resting against the lock.
    This tool may be good for some but not my cuppa tea. 👌😁

      Thank you bruv. I will always give my honest opinion on products. It's a good product for use with raking and maybe pick guns but it's not the best for spp. 👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🖖🍻🖖

    Concept is very good .. needs slimming down less bulky .. iv never got to hold one but vids iv seen i get impression they block your view and are awkward if not using vice ( picking in hand ) .. good honest reveiw DALP

    Great video. I like Sparrows stuff. I have several of their training tools and they're well made and feel great in the hand. I'm a noob and still figuring it all out, but I'm like you, keeping my middle finger pretty close to the lock, sometimes on the lock, so, if this thing was a lot thinner, maybe. Also, I don't think the feel of spinning a wheel and pushing on a tension rod compare well, angle is different, one finger vs. finger and thumb. Interesting idea, but more a gimmick, which is kinda disappointing from Sparrows.

    • @DarkArtsLockPicking
      @DarkArtsLockPicking  Před 5 lety

      Thank you mate. Yeah sparrows are one of my favourite manufacturers. Yeah as I said in the video it has down sides as well as some good points. It's a whole new ball game to learn to use it correctly 👍🤘🖖🍻

    Excellent and fair review mate. Out of interest what is the feedback like with counter rotation when picking spools for example. I have a new picker in the club that can't seem to feel it but I could see something like this being an excellent teaching aid as they could see the 2 red arrows moving towards each other with counter rotation.

    • @DarkArtsLockPicking
      @DarkArtsLockPicking  Před 5 lety +2

      LockhackerUK thank you mate. To be completely honest I didn't feel the feedback from the spools in my Lockwood 334 locks. I think I didn't really feel it because it's spring loaded. But you would probably see it move with a decent spool. 👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🖖🍻🖖

    I have heard from a few lock pickers that they should not have bought it. Bill from lock lab is trying to get rid of his. I think if it teaches the newer pickers about how to use Tension. Maybe good to them. Might put one in my 007 case. Smile
