You were struggling during the Borg battle for more cinematic camera options.
F9 switches you into cinematic camera mode, but there are multiple modes within that chosen by the other F# keys. From memory:
F1: Default flyby cam you've been using.
F2: Orbiting camera. Same as holding shift and moving the mouse, but *without the HUD*, which you were looking for.
F3: "Reverse target camera", this flies the camera out to your target, angled to keep your ship in frame too. I can't remember if you need to keep changing target to look at the other ships, or if you can keep pressing the F3 button to cycle between all the ships in sensor range.
F4: Torpedo camera. This rides on the first torpedo or pulse weapon fired at your target, keeping your target in view even if it misses. When the torpedo hits, or self-destructs, the view returns to your ship until you fire another torpedo.
The rest of them, I'm a little fuzzy on - it's been years since I played this game. Try them out. I'm pretty sure F5 is ... something, and F6 is like F2 but from a much more distant vantage point.
Finally, a suggestion: It was mildly discombobulating when you would load up various ships, but they still had the Sovereign (Enterprise-E) calls interior. Most canon Federation ship bridges are in the version of the game you have - load the appropriate bridge for the ship you're using, of if it's not in there: mix it up a little!

Hey great Videos may I suggest doing more large fleet battles and maybe doing a re-enactment of the Alliance from Mass effect Vs the Reapers or Feds,KDF and romulans vs the dominion alliance
If only I had Mass Effect ships! I could definitely do the Alpha Quad + Beta Quad vs Dominion though!

Is it that hard for whoever programs the effects to get the quantum torpedoes right? The Defiant fires them two at once, none to aft and they are not like photons, just blue, but more of a snowball shape.
What mod do you have in this for BC?

Well when he let the AI take over command of the sovereign class starship, it really didn't like that borg cube and did not hold back.
Does this game work on Windows 10? I have the game and have installed it and it does open and can be played but the game runs awfully, the framerate is very erratic and seems to only go to about 10fps and throttles up and down every second... I have no idea how to fix this and can't find answers anywhere, any tips that are actually useful will be much appreciated.
Can this game be played entirely from the Bridge? (I don't want to zoom out to 3rd person view) Strictly from Bridge for immersion at all times. Is this possible?
The mod install you have up on your channel regarding the KM mod- is that the entire game or just the mod? (or both? does it include other mods in that download as well?)

Thanks for the comment! To answer your questions, the game can entirely be played from the bridge, I only zoom out so I can take direct control of the ships movements. The mod install video and link only show you how to install the mod, and the link only takes you to a download that includes only the mod. I saw Star Trek Bridge Crew announced and I'm hyped up for its release! Hopefully its good!
Ah, I see. Steam does not have this game. I guess I must go buy BC from gog or somewhere. Then visit your link and download that mod. I'll check your channel to see what other mods you suggest. Thanks for the response.
There are some ships in the game which dont have Torpedos listed but U can fire Them by pressing the Button for the disruptors anyway.
For example the Prometheus
Please do the Battlestar Galactica verses a base star, or against a star trek ship

Why does the bridge look like the Enterprise E when your in the D?
Sometimes your shields fail when you use that MVAM mode. Happens to me quite often. ^^

Unfortunately, I did have a hand in the development of the KM mod, but I did create my own shield texture in photoshop. The default one was too big more my tastes.

Hey I know it's been a long time but I have some questions for you because I just got the KM mod for Bridge Commander and for the most part, it works great.
1. The only issue I'm having is that both the Prometheus Class and Sabre Class have no torpedo loads. Every time I start with either of these in a Quick Battle, the torpedo load reads as "Empty". Any patches or ways to fix this?
2. What are the other mods you have installed? Any recommendations?
1.) Some of the ships don't use torpedoes even though it looks like it. Try using the key binding for pulse weapons (I think its 'g' by default)
2.) Besides KM, I have some stand-alone ship packs that were on the old filefront website before it got taken down.

Some ships have their torpedoes set as cannons instead of torpedoes, so use for cannon key or mouse wheel

Does this run on Windows 10? I'm interested to know how you were able to get this going and what your set up is, because I've had nothing but problems trying to get it running on both Windows 7 Pro AND Windows 10 Pro. Your intro link leads to a channel that doesn't exist and the mod page doesn't really load anything except the navigation options on the left side. Nothing else on the page loads.
I'm on windows 7! I've been afraid to upgrade to win 10.

I own that attack ship in Star Trek Online but I have Aft CANNONS that would have blown the Defiant to bits if she continued to trail me..haha :-D PLUS I know how to fly that baby to optimize her superior fire power and speed compared to the Defiant.

it works just as well as xp... unfortunately, the game is limited by the engine, so massively powerful computers can't play much bigger battles than we could back in the day

Hey I have this game but I can no longer play it on my computer since I upgraded it how are you able to still play this game and can you play with other players online?
I am playing on windows 7 and I think that is why it works often on my computer, it does go through times of not working, though. Also you can play it online if someone has a server, I don't so I don't play online with anyone.

"trust me the Prometheus is really cool it's just this shuttle is wrecking us" yeah, that doesn't happen to cool ships, that's like saying "trust me I'm really strong but this arthritic midget is kicking my ass"
that was also 1/3 of the Prometheus, and not using torps...
@@Katvanished Dosent matter, each part of the ship has it's own regenerative shielding, ablative armor, and each vector has both regular and Quantum torpedoes, they should have put that in this mod, but then it would be to OP, but at least they should be way stronger than a type 10 shuttle in this game at least.

Riiight...the Prometheus just flies straight showing its backside, missing almost every torpedo shot, doesnt swerve or turn around, making it an easy target like a sitting duck for the Defiant. Multi-vector assault mode will give Defiant hell if it was used as it should of done.

JAnx01 He's using a ton. For example, many of those ships are not in the stock game. The Defiant and Prometheus are examples of modded in ships. Not to mention Prometheus' MVAM.
I played the crap out of this game back in the day. In fact, I even have a playthrough of the game on my channel.

Try looking for NanoFX.
That was a mod that did something of an engine overhaul. Lots of other mods relied on it so you might find some collections or something.

I still give it to the Defiant, 6 out of 10 times; as long as The Sisko is in command.

The weird model glitch with some ships on damage, like with the Galor, Akira, and Norway has something to do with the _vox.nif files. These are temporary cache files that may have been left over from the mod author's testing and so are incorrect. Just delete the vox.nif files and next time you load the ship, the game will create new ones that will not splinter around like a bad wreck in Need for Madness 2.
im new to star trek, why arent there dedicated fed battleships, most seem to be for explore first then fight second
The federation is mostly an organisation dedicated to peaceful exploration and discovery! However, there are a couple of star ships in the fleet that are dedicated to warfare, like the defiant class ships and the sovereign class ships.
The Prometheus is a long range tactical ship, one of my favourite.
Eh, would the Sovereign really count as a warship? I don't think so. Maybe call it a tactical exploration cruiser or something. No way the Enterprise would be a warship. Defiant and Prometheus are much more battle oriented, and mostly with the Borg in mind. The Akira may be somewhat as well.
HitodamaKyrie both enterprise E and F are more focused on combat operations than on exploration like the enterprises C and D, for example, both C and D allowed families onboard raising the crew to 1000 people, E and F doesn't allow civilian personel onboard and their crews are the minimal possible to reduce the combat casualities, plus they are loaded with heavy weaponry (the captain yatch on the soverign can fire quantum torpedos) have stronger hulls, have a lot of improved combat protections (dedicated shielding around the warp core), have installed some improvements used in combat prototypes (the soverign is suposed to be capable of multi-vector attack and can carry attack fighters and the Odisey can launch fighters, separate his saucer and launch a defiant-sized auxiliary ship to do multi-vector attack), after the battle of Wolf and with the start of the dominion wars, the federation went from peaceful explorers to fuck this shit, we are going to blow up our way out of this situation
