How about some love to Descent's Pyro GX?
"Extremely costly." This statement made me realize one of the advantages the Borg have over most of the other denizens in the Star Trek galaxy. The Borg do not weigh themselves down, or limit themselves with the flow of currency. Monetary cost is irrelevant. All they require are the resources they need to build something, and it is done. And, they are more than capable of getting what they need to do it. Whatever the economics are, concerning, every group other than the Borg, it seems to limit them to making decisions based on said cost.
have you done yet vids on the ulyess, yamato, accuser & sword of khalass classes?
Formic hive ship from ender's games please
I'm surprised no mention was made of the mirror universe version of this vessel used as the flagship of Regent Worf during the liberation of Terok Nor.
I prefer a Vor'cha attack cruiser. So mean and deadly looking. We never saw enough of that design.
They are both very well designed, unique and beautiful I think.
The Vor'cha class was my personal favourite too.
They should it in lower decks season 1 I think or was that a k'tinga class
@@sethcourtemanche5738 if you’re talking about the one with the captain who made deals with the Pakled that was just a standard B’rel bird of pray.
IMO their variety of ship designs makes an assembled Klingon fleet visually interesting, second only to the Federation, and much more than the other interstellar powers.
I can really see the Negh'var being the centre piece of a taskforce, like an aircraft carrier in the USN.
Makes a big fat target. Very unKlingonlike...
We are the borg, surrender or you will be destroyed
@@CS-zn6pp Some doors need a heavy knock to open, like DS9...
Vor'cha class Battle Cruiser, it's a all time favorite KDF design
Blood Raven You wouldn't be trying to "aquire" one, now would you?
I have a Mirror Vo'r'cha on STO, what a ship
Isn't the vor'cha an assault cruiser?
@@sethcourtemanche5738 they call it an “attack cruiser” on the shows which is a totally made ship classification. Fighting ship classifications go like this corvette < frigate < destroyer < cruiser (first light, then heavy) < battle cruiser < and then finally the battleship which is the most heavily armed and armored, but also the slowest. I guess you can call a really powerful type of battleship a dreadnought but that’s more of a historical name based on a ship that Britain made that was named The Dreadnought. Other countries began making similar ships and calling them “dreadnoughts” but after a while nobody used that term anymore, they just called them battleships. So an “attack cruiser” would probably just be a fancy Klingon way of saying battle cruiser. And the Negh’var should be a battleship.
Negh'var Class ship of the Klingon Empire is one of my favorite ships in Star Trek.
Have to say Klingons are my favourite race in the star trek universe.
It was also first seen in the final TNG episode, All Good Things... as part of the alternate future timeline, along with the triple nacelle Enterprise D.
That wasn't its first appearance
Don't forget Worf was in command of one as his personal flagship in the mirror universe the first time was when Sisko learned the resistance had built they're own I.S.S. Defiant and the second time was when Quark and Rom had to steal a Klingon cloaking device to save Grand Negus Zek from the Alliance and in both cases the ship was badly damaged.
And it was even bigger than the original Negh'Var.
It's high time they start making Trek with us more in mind. This is an epic looking ship - do we ever really see it shine though?
This is a lot of whoop ass in one package .
I like the Klingon ships since they look like they can take a beating in a fight. Unlike the Federation ships.
Federation ships, especially Dominion War builds were very sturdy. The reason why Starfleet took such heavy casualties was due to the lack of new build vessels at first, fielding mostly older Miranda and Excelsior Class vessels. Once the Defiants, Akiras, Steamrunner, War-Galaxies, and Sovereigns started to roll out in greater numbers, you start finding that Fed vessels have become very hard hitting, and can take big hits
Gothic7876 *Look.*
Federation ships usually don't have as beefy and respectable a build about them compared to Klingon or Romulan ships. The way they are designed often has both the main command section and the engines separated from everything by thin members that just don't look very strong. It could be the strongest metal in the verse making it up, but the audience impression is that (as an example) the Enterprise is fragile and is in serious danger without their shields.
Meeko1010100112 I know but it bugs that the federation ship have there engines just hanging out in space. Thus making them big tempting targets.
Michael Lewis Err... I was agreeing with you.
+Meeko1010100112 okay I was not sure thanks
The big papa of the Klingons
You should see the larger ships In STO they have a huge carrier that can carry up to 4 B'rels at once.
A very good video on my favorite vessels
Looks like a power house of a ship.
Not compared to a star destroyer....
Klingon boarding parties against stromtroopers ☺
COmes down to how well Stormtroppers are trained for hand to hand combat
Just a bigger target for Dominion fighters.
@@thandokhan1962 Stormtroopers will die quickly.
Nice Star Trek Online music choice. Approve.
It would be cool to see a video on the Gunstar of the Star League from The Last Starfighter
Yes actually. :O Great idea.
sweetness i been waiting forever for you to do a klingon ship
Love the star trek videos!
Have you considered doing a video on the Resolute carrier from Exo-Squad?
Beautiful design
Well done essay!
My favorite Klingon ships are the K't'inga and the Vor'Cha classes. And, like the character that inspired my screenname, I don't really think much of the Negh'Var....but this was still a nicely done, informative essay. Keep up the good work!
Q'apla!
Now we know that Martok in "Way of the Warrior" was the changeling. The real Martok hated the Negh'Var.
Excellent
The first time I ever saw the Klingon Negh'Var class was in the final 2 episodes of Star Trek The Next Generation 'All Good Things' when 2 of these ships destroyed a defenseless Federation Medical Ship before one was destroyed by the Galaxy X Class Dreadnaught U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D.
would love to see you examine some borg ships like the cube and sphere
Hi, greetinf from Hungary. Keep up the good work, the content is very good. Please do the Bortas'qu Klingon ship.
Orvendek. I tried to get through the Magyar/ Klingon dictionary once, and couldn't. But always good to see a Hungarian Trekkie
I enjoyed seeing these explode when playing STO.
Good thing the Klingons are on the Federations side (for now)
untill The iconians trick the Undine into attacking the Klingons and the Federation does their political BS...
I like the design of this one.
Is that STO's klingon music? Sounds familiar
Yes
Yeah it is
It is STO music, but I don't think it's specific to Klingons...it might actually be the old music that played at Battle Group Omega.
Is the Bortas biggest? I thought it was slightly smaller than the Vo'Quv
Love the Trek ships keep them coming best in the series you do, any species and alliance all good.
The Dominion Jem'Hadar Dreadnought was the biggest and baddest ships in the quadrant. only 5 were made, but they are an incredible ship.
They had a dreadnought grade vessel?
Love the Klingon ships
Blowing up a Galaxy Class with one of these looks so darn pretty
Klingon Ban E has never lost
Man I wish these videos were longer.
The designer of the negh var made it look smart. When they have to make a design thats restricted by having to be a certain way like because its star trek and klingon it isnt easy making something unique and original and that looks good. The negh var is excellent.
can you do a ship from Gundam? For example, the Magellan-class battleship.
Could do the White Base, but that might be a bit cliche. Musai-class, perhaps.
Maybe the Rewloola or Dogosse Giar.
I so want to see Excelsior class refit
etrofit... I like the design but dont know much about it.
was shown at Somerset base , memorial day , Bostonusa territory, fmr usa, fmr earth. Everyone was then forced to forget the video was seen.
That was a great one! Could you do the D7, and Romulan Bird of Prey?
This not really an error...more like an omission...20 years in the future in the alternative future created by Q, when the Klingon's attacked the Pasteur, they sent 3 Negh'vars which were repelled by the Enterprise Galaxy X class spinal mounted phaser which ripped through their shields like they weren't there. I always thought they were bigger than the Galaxy Class based on that episode and their appearances by Deep Space 9, but whatever. I've only seen the 3 heavy pulse disrputors fire...where did the 20 hybrid disrupted information come from?
The Negh'var class is my favorite star trek ship. Wish they would have done a series where starfleet took the Negh'var and built a class with starfleets ideas in mind. Needs work on the wrap engines but that all ships.
How many of those did the Klingons build?
Just like how the Vor'cha went from being 1 flagship in TNG to becoming the mainstay during the dominion war the Negh'var would have done the same if Trek had continued.
Wait, what ship in the KDF is bigger than good ole Neg?
Nice video Spacedock. any chance of getting the Brell or Akira any time soon?
Loving all that STO music for your Star Trek ship vids. How much STO have you played Spacedock?
IN STO the Negh'Var is my favorite Klingon ship that anyone can get through rank progression instead of having to pay real money.... she's a great ship.
Love the quote at the start of the video! What episode of DS9 is it from? I can never find it!
It also needs to be noted that the ship that appeared in the last Mirror universe episode in season seven of Deep Space 9 as commanded by Worf's mirror universe counterpart appeared to have been one of these and it got it's ass kicked by the defiant class ship built in the mirror universe.
Shame we'll never see giants like the Vo'Quv in a star trek episode...
cool
I don't know if it's even possible to do a video on a board game starship but it would be great to see Klingon B-10 from Star Fleet Battles. (Or maybe just analyze the fleets of the game.)
I just realized something ... Klingon Defense Force can be translated to German as ... Klingon Wehrmacht.
Mind = Blown
Klingonische Wehrmacht
@@crimecat1483 danke
Eternal glory to the Empire!
I liked having a fleet of these in a Star Trek Armada game when I needed to destroy an enemy base or Borg Cube quickly.
I think that, though a little different from your usual videos, you should do a video on the Aurora from Subnautica. Maybe not your typical overview but maybe like your thoughts on the vessel.
Martoks bird of prey was a K'vort class cruiser not a B'Rel class scout easy mistake because they are practically identical and the K'vort class is just a much bigger version. The quickest way to spot th difference is looking @ the angle of the wings when in attack mode and look @ the scale of Martoks bird of prey docked @ ds9 it looks bigger than the Defiant.
The cloak alone would consume huge amounts of power trying to cloak something so large, I wonder how effective it was at high warp
The D'deridex class warbird is larger then the Negh'var and still had an almost perfect cloak
Romulan technology is superior... Wait, are we really discussing this issues as if they were real? :--)
wyrd it is real we are all in the holodeck lol 😂
Marcus walker Don't forget the safety protocols have been disengaged.
Read an article years ago (when TNG was being made) about a schizophrenic who believed they were a crewmember of the Enterprise, trapped in a holodeck malfunction. Wore a Star Trek uniform his mother had eventually made for him.
Doctors where unable to treat him, till some bright spark who was a trekkie realized they didn't need to 'cure' him, just make him functional. So they convinced him he was fully integrated into the program and he should play along, and most importantly that the safety protocols were disengaged. So he's stopped wearing the uniform and pretends to be a regular human from the late 20th century (when I read the article, I assume he's now early 21st century) and holds down a job and has friends and relationships and appears normal even though he knows in his heart it's all an illusion.
@@brimone1982 Yet DS9 was able to pick up the defiant using a romulan cloak and later could not see Martok's fleet under cloak....
I know this isn't a popular ship...but could you discuss the Narn Cruiser? From Babylon 5? I love the look of the ship and would love to know more about it.
Oh god, i remember my days in STO, flying a vintage D-9 Battlecruiser, waiting in the brairpatch in cloak and popping out and delivering a good load of surprise butsex to unwitting Fed and later Romulan players
Best ship ever. _EVER._
You never heard of the Lollipop?
@@hanshawks5088 👀
it should be noted that klingon cloaking devices, like that of the Negh'Var are not as sophisticated as Romulan cloaks.
Yet in DS9 the crew were able to pick up the defiant using a romulan cloak but later Martok comes with a whole cloaked fleet that they don't even see on sensors...
Can you do a video on the K’Vort class? Please? No one on CZcams is talking about it but it was one of the main Klingon ships in TNG.
Well, Spacedock refers to the K'vort in their video on the B'rel class. Essentially it was little more than a scaled-up B'rel.
Pride of hiigara
videos like this really want me a emperor at war mod for star trek ships and factions. come on who wouldnt want to see a game with full scale fleet engagement with star fleet, Klingons , romulans maybe cardsaion/dominion stuff and im sure we could swing a few mechships from the smaller factions and races
Please do a video on the Scimitar from Star Trek Nemesis!
Great Vid, any chance of Farragut class battlecruiser from Elite dangerous or kongo class battleship from space battleship yamato?
I think those heavy, under slung disruptor cannons would have better utilized as a modular weapons platform, capable of being switched out much like a Miranda or a Nebula, for mission specific purposes.
I imagine the disruptor cannons would continue to be one of the modules. But there would still be the problem of drag from the added mass. The Miranda and Nebula classes were designed to balance those modules.
Hey could you please do a video on the styles of newtonian physics in sci fi
This is good eyebleach after looking at the STD Klingon ship designs.
The Guarding Dark Agreed
Do a video on the Battlestar Galactica pls.
of all klingon ship i like the vor'cha class
You should do something from Space above and beyond
Can you do a battle between this vessel and an 40k Imperial Navy battle ship (Emperor, Apocalypse, Oberon etc.).
So what was the ship that took the largest ship title from this one?
I'd like to know this too
Vo'Quv-class carriers. They're playable in ST Online. 1,250 meters long, but no cloak. The Bortasqu' class was only 50 meters shorter, but it had a cloak and was used as a heavy battlecruiser.
Star Trek Online has the Vo'Quv and Bortasqu'-class dreadnoughts, the lead ship of the latter becoming the flagship of the Klingon fleet under the command of Captain Koren.
@@RJStockton Those things are huge and can carry up to 4 b'rels at once. The Vo'quv I call mine Lyons Den.
Would have loved to see this beast fight the dominion battleship. The jem'hadar battleship is nearly 3 times larger, but still.
Can you do of the sovereign class or the Enterprise E please
The design was originally intended as a future Vor'cha class sized warship not the massively upscaled version we see on DS9
A REAL Klingon ship!
Pah. A real Klingulan ship. The Klingon ships have been messed up ever since Search for Spock got Romulans and Klingons confused, IMHO.
Kree Jaf...!, I mean Ka’plaa!
Got mixed up there for a second.
Ok, question about disruptors. I know that good guys use phasers and bad guys use disruptors in personal combat because disruptors cause an inhumanely painful death while phasers vaporize you quickly and cleanly. But why, then, would you use disruptors in ship-to-ship combat? Or if they have some other advantage, why wouldn't good guys use them on their ships, too?
A little late to the party here but iirc on Alpha canon website it said that disruptors can be built more compactly than phasers for the same power output, therefore a disruptor and phaser bank of the same size will have the disruptor putting out more raw damage. However phasers are less power hungry and safer/more reliable. Disruptors are high alpha strike damage with easier transfer between beam and pulse fire modes, at the cost of lots of power draw and some unreliability. Phasers deal damage over time (more focused on combat endurance), are more reliable and require less maintenance, and are more energy efficient (which means more power to shields and other subsystems) but take up more space on a starship
Each weapon type is actually quite fitting with their respective cultures. Klingons expect to die in battle so they go guns blazing at highest damage output as possible, not immediately concerned about disruptor power draw, maintenance and reliability since they are likely not going to survive the fight. The Federation on the other hand with their phasers places a greater importance on combat endurance, reliability and energy efficiency since they expect their ships and crew to survive and engage in multiple fights over time
Good, now do the Bortasqu' or Bortas (STO)
Love Klingon ships, they are more raw and tuff.
vor cha class plz or if you can make a video of it spacedock
My question to space dock is do you know what the purpose of a Battlecruiser is? What makes it different from a Battleship? In any navy even space navis the ship classification corvette, frigate, destroyer ,light cruiser, heavy cruiser, battlecruiser, and battleship/dreadnought each have a function and role to play in the fleet that is tactical or strategic in nature. Most SCi Fi ships seem not to mach any classification of type I have seem ships called Dreadnought that were the size of Corvettes and Destroyers that were bigger than a battleship.
Delgen1951 its all suthor made up,hell th Omega class "Destroyer" in Babylon 5 is destroyer in name only(political reasons)and is consideted quite powerful nd lsrge in-universe. And Trek, especially the feds, do not follow the 20-21th century ship clasification standard
You should do star destroyer vs apophis's flagship
Are you going to do Dominion ships?
Actual Battlecruiser in PREH
Could someone suggest a spacedock episode of the Hestia class starship?
Pleeeeeease do a vid on Starcraft Bahemout class Battlecruiser!!!!
Could you do ships from the Battletech franchise?
Could you guys do the Andromeda from Space Battleship Yamato 2202?
Question what if we have stargate earth replaced by the unsc from halo and say that the covenant dont exist how would the unsc do if they replaced sg1
Klingon Ban E Battlecruiser was firing at targets in the PREH? (I saw it with Man-in-Hat (IMAGE of HaShem) in late 1987 fmr creation...it told me from there...in G-h...that there is no question mark) (HaShem, Gigi sd is true)
2:18 Well in that case, just forgo stealth and use it's onboard Ion Cannon!
It's a shame we never saw it more towards the end of the Dominion War.
How about the scimitar from Star Trek nemesis as employed by the Roman star empire
I've never liked any Klingon ships except the various Bird of Prey.
So what is the biggest Klingon starship now?
rdgk1se3019, that would be the soft canon Bortas'q class War Cruiser from Star Trek Online commissioned in 2409 it is the largest KDF ship to date.
