This setting in motion grand plans for the 'Wedding of the Century', becoming globally the most watched event in television history.
The newly named Diana, Princess of Wales captured the hearts and minds of the nation, who immediately embraced her as she navigated her new public role. But a life characterised by the pressures of fame and a fishbowl existence was difficult for the young woman to adapt to, and cracks quickly began to show.
Hoping the overwhelming press attention would die after the wedding, or maybe after she'd birthed an heir, Princess Diana was faced with a future of uncertainty, in new world that from the moment of 'I do' had forever been altered.
