That mini dozer was a kit sold in the late 50’s early 60’s. My friend Neighbor has one and they are worth a lot on money.
I just bought one a few days ago picked it up for $500 and runs awesome
Jimmy, the VW starter bolted to the bellhousing thar in turn bolted to the transaxle....My brother used to build VW motors and he would use a cutaway VW bellhousing to stand test engines...looks like you have room in there to add a starter and clear the mag. If position is wrong ...depending on application the starter could clock at a different position according to bellhousing application. Also, it looks like you have room for an alternator stand under the shroud. The cooling fan delete shouldn't be a problem as it does nothing to support the alternator. It's just a drive through the alternator to drive the fan.
Also old VWs that have sat awhile can have some sticky valves as well as valve face/seat rust. These normally clear up after start up.. but it doesn't hurt to pop the covers, lube the valves, then give then a few light hammer taps prior to start up. This is also the time to check valve lash
Jesse is a great addition to the Jimmy nation!
As long as those are mosquito bites and not fresh track marks on his arms. I was a bit concerned.
@@williampetersen9932last video there were some on his neck so I’m gonna say mosquito bites.
Jesse you have the right stuff. Glad you're on the team. Jimmy needs all the help he can get.
I just wanted to say, I truly enjoy your videos. You always make laugh even on bad days, so thank you. Keep up the good work.
2 Jimmy videos in one day sweeeeeeeeet, Clear Prop & throw it.
Wow Col. Louis George Mason If this is the owner, he lived an interesting life he was special forces. He was both a military and FAA certified parachute rigger and instructor he was appointed to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) He was a collector of model trains, building a large train room in his retirement home for his “O Scale” trains Lou was a lifetime member the Special Forces Association (“Decader”), a life member of the Army War College Foundation and a member of the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Va. In addition, he belonged to the Special Forces Regiment, designated as an “ARSOF Icon” (Army Special Operations Forces), a DARPA Alumni, Distinguished Member of the Quartermaster Corps, and a Quartermaster Corps Hall of Fame recipient. I just love the history behind that airplane it is so fascinating the man, the myth, a legend
One thing I learned long ago, that first start is always the hardest.
Cool video Jimmy. I enjoyed watching you two struggle to get this old 4 cylinder engine to run. Thanks for sharing.
Jimmy I accidently stumbled across your channel and let me say that I enjoy it so much I just had to take a moment to let you know. Thank you so much for allowing this old man to have something to enjoy. Better than any TV show I have seen. Jimmy you are something else.
Well said
Can I get a clear prop!
@@loishope6605 CleeeeAAaaarR PrRoooooop
man i love seening these old planes makes me want to get back in to ultralights
For the first million or so prop throws were you running into basically a vapor lock with the squeeze bottle? I didn't see a vent hole to allow the fuel to flow freely from it.
A vent hole would definitely be needed
Morning coffee and a new video from Jimmy's World.....only way to start the day..!
A plus for maximum effort on this one Jimmy!😮
That old refrigerator will probably still work! Unlike the ones you buy today where the compressor goes out in 2 to 3 years
Today’s outlets would burn up trying to feed 40 amps to start the compressor lol
A modern fridge will last ten years plus, easily.
@@johnnunn8688 I believe he was being funny
it is all those silicon diodes
@@gavinkeller183 if so, he failed; miserably.
Struck mini-dozer! So cool. I wanted one of those really-really bad as a kid. I remember having them send me their catalog, (60's I think),. They're a bit of a collector thing nowadays. I think that airplane might need a re-cover. Just a guess, 😁
That little dozer looks like one you could buy yrs ago. They were usually for sale in the back of magazines. You should buy that and use it to tow your small aircraft.
Jimmy needs that little dozer!
They still make them today. Even have versions with a front loader and backhoe. Also make ones that are a little bigger.
Why are you NOT thee #1🥇🏆 aviation channel on CZcams™️ Jimmy!??🤷🏻♂️…You should be breaking the internet or at the very least,CZcams with your videos!! OMG I thought my bladder was gonna have a catastrophic failure or choke to death when you said,”This is TOTALLY safe”….LOLOLOLOL🤣🤣🤣…..Keep the AWESOME content coming and please keep us posted on the Elvis Memorabilia! Not sure if your going to be accepting preorders but if you do,please mark me down for a piece of ELVIS(and Jimmy) history!! Obviously, the sky is NOT your limit Jimmy!!🫶🙏✌️😎
Thanks so much! Elvis memorabilia update coming next Friday :)
I love old sheds and the stuff they hold
LMAO!!! I will use that line 5 times today!! "I can see the runningness from here."
I like how ya aim the plane directly at the rental car.
he has the extra insurance
Thanks for the audio improvements - sounds much better, headphone users appreciate the levels not getting low then spiking. GRACIAS!
2 jimmys world one friday? I wonder where my reignigted desire to fly something besides a fancy kite is coming from!!!
Volkswagon motors are commonly used in light aircraft. they can be dependable if fully gone over. My neighbor built a plane and put a VW motor in it and flew it off the cow pasture field across the street from our suburban homes in Wichita. It worked he flew it around and brought it back and landed it. Homemade airplane he welded together in his basement. Experimental. Worked. this was early seventies when I was a child.
Mini dozer, “can I get a … ‘clear track!’”
Would love to see you get it flying and take it up! Love the videos! My dad was a private pilot growing up so I have a lot of hours up with him lol. It takes me back instantly every flight cockpit video. He unfortunately passed several years ago so I greatly appreciate your videos! Keepem comin! 😊
Mini Dozer would make a great tow tug. I agree with it being another start up video. P.S. love the WW1 clone. Wish I had a place to put it...🤓
More mini-dozer content!
what is its real name even?
@Typical Sharky
I believe that it is manufactured by Struck.
❤ I love Jimmy's videos and I really dig his humor. He always entertaining and fun to watch, great stories and interesting aviation content! I'm subscribed and I'm big follower of Jimmy's and his latest videos with Jessy are amazing!! Thank you so much Jimmy and Jessy for providing me with so much fun watching your show's.❤❤❤❤❤❤
You needed to have your fuel bottle vented, a closed bottle system would create reverse Suction to the carb not allowing fuel to flow, hence the reason it would run when you manually squeeze the bottle forcing fuel pressure into the carb. She would of started within 10 blades with proper fuel I'd say, great video tho!
My thoughts too!
My grandpa and I watch your videos a lot! And if you’re ever in SD that would be awesome to say hello to ya jimmy
The answer to that question is, 'It's because they're much simpler and they don't as many components as a newer aircraft.' This means that there's less to go wrong. Jimmy, I watch other people's CZcams videos. Most of them clean out the carburetors of the engines they're on. So many of them are quite dirty, with their passages clogged with dried fuel. A few of them put them in parts washers to rid them of that dried fuel. Sleeper Dude has one of those cleaners. I didn't see you once you cleaned a single carburetor. I believe that those difficult to start engines would start sooner in the event you clean those carburetors instead of needing to spin a prop at the front of those aircrafts. You know how sore your arm will be the morning after you spun them a few hundred times, as you and Jesse did with that Volkswagen engine in that replica.
Jesse is sitting on that thing like he's riding a 4 wheeler. He's making sure none of those spiders climb up on him lol. Jimmy if Jesse rides in this thing you better put a parachute on him because if one of those spiders climb up on him he's bailing out
Jimmy, those whole ...let's say - fleet of crooked birds , reminds me just two worlds: Dastardly & Muttley
I friggin' Love this. Cheers Jimmy's world. Very much appreciate it.
I'm enjoying every minute of this video. Good luck with the rest of them.
Keep up the good work Jimmy where is your son There is no better history than right there
Most kids are in school around this time of year.
Cool on How You changed the Lyrics from Gilligan's Island. IT RUNS!! Wow!
Absolutely love the sound of that engine
So cool. Some day I’ll find my own dusty old biplane. I’ll live vicariously through yours.
That’s a Struck mini dozer!! I had one! They can pull like crazy but not so much on pushing! Fun little machine though!
Great, awesome job and video. Keep on keeping on top of the clouds 💪
Heroic. The VW engine in it is hilarious! Be fun to taxi around if the rudder works, and you have a working kill switch :).
I'm down to see the Struck Mini Dozer run. Had one years ago and it was handy.
About time dude I've stumbled upon your channel and have been on a binge dude continue doing what you are doing bud more content please lol
Great video mate, it sounds great!!!
What a nice job hobby you got!!Thanks for this nice videos!
Jimmy & Jesse's world ftw
❤❤❤those vintage double decker aircrafts are nice, good find there Jimmy!😊❤
I am impressed with you guys! Love it that you got the old looking plane to run.
Can we talk about the fantastic voice over that sounded very heart warming at the end?
Thanks. Always a pleasure..
Where did you find Jesse?? He seems like such a cool guy!
A garage sale???
Awesome. A British biplane? I love your videos man.
Britain built more Biplanes that most other countries... Sopwith Camel and SE5a being the most famous :)
It’s a kit aircraft, built in Texas.
With a German engine
Love the Airspeed tops out at "80".....VNE = 81
Bro I love you your so good at videos
I enjoy all your videos Jimmy but I have to say, these barn find type first start ones are my favorite!
Love this content!!!
What could possibly go wrong 🤷♂ You wont find me flying in it, but once its been sorted its going to make someone a nice flying machine 👍👍
I keep thinking I need to hitch up my 30' flatbed trailer and come down there and start taking the wings off and loading them up to haul to Florida for you. That old SE5 would fit in real well here on our field T7SO. Grass strip 25 miles north of Fort Worth..... My friend and neighbor restores old airplanes for a living, and I built this trailer to haul his airplane finds here on it. We've got warbirds, biplanes and a bunch of those guys who pretend they are in ALaska that do all that STOL stuff! up here on the field.
Don’t think, ACT!
Best content so far
Awesome plane there Jimmy. Stay safe my friend.
Can’t wait for the next one!
Love it. You guys rock
What could possibly go wrong? Great video!
great spark plug shot!!!
Hopefully someday I'll be saving planes and flying just like Jimmy
Y’all need to get it back in the air !!! Would be so cool to watch !!
What a classic...very interesting to say the least...the stall dozer is awesome
Would love to buy one of your projects......love the WW1 SE5
I LOVE that mini 28:01 SE5. I’m partial to WW1 aircraft styles.
Nice Jimmy, can't wait to see the Mig soon as well.
Great job on getting it running.
You sir, are seriously qwazy! Thank you! Great video.
Nothing better than getting something running that's been sitting
If you ever need a hand around the Daytona area give me a ring.
Love that the old replica plane did get fired up!
Why is it that every video I see on restarting old engines, nobody thinks to change the oil and filter as a first step? At least these guys didn't use the 12 year old gas. Bill
Jimmy, you two Dudes need some serious "Mental" evaluation! But, ya al' have "Gitter Dun" tenacity! Thanks, Enjoy all your videos, keep em' comin'! Be safe!
Have you come up what a small piece of elvis jetwill cost? Like post card size. Take the wing fuel tanks and make the fenders for the rear wheels. Use part of the fuel tanks for to store fuel
Right on Jimmy!
My eldest brother, who is now deceased, would have loved this. He was a private pilot and a bit of a daredevil, so he would have patched up the wing and tried to fly this oldie.
Love the work....
Put a hole/vent in the fuel bottle...
solved many mystery file issues..
Hello from Minnesota! Whooohooo! She runs!
Stunning content. As a content creator who happens to fly, I’ve always tried to be different by being genuine. So many of your comments ring true, from the keyboard warriors, who forget the video was edited, to the regulators in my case, the CAA, who always seem to be casting their beady eyes over everything we do. (it is nice to know that they’re watching). And nice to know that we have similar thoughts - keep it up!!!
That's an awesome little kit plane.
Good stuff Jimmy.
Out of all the plans you bought down there that's my favorite one
Great Videos.
Holy crap fantastic
that thing is like flying in a 55 gallon drum.....or maybe one of those kiddy trains at the pumpkin patch someone strapped an engine and wings too
Yeh idle circuit was probably clogged, thanks for vid!
The slime bottles are a genius idea 💡
The engine sounds pretty good!
Awesome video. iIs that a composite aircraft in the background? What make?
Love the narrators voice over!!😂😂😂
I always want to clean the carbs and pump up some oil pressure before running one. That carb cleaning woulda saved you about eleventy thirteen prop spins on that one. That's what the ends of guitar/mandolin strings that you cut off after restringing them are for. Got some in my tool box from an old 12 string I got at a pawn shop in the mid 80s.
We have a saying in Australia. Jimmy got it going, but Jesse loosened her up for him.
So long, been good to know ya!
Great video on how to strengthen your arms and shoulders😂. Lots of reps. A little cleaning, replace some fabric and she will be good to go. I really want to see the dozer going. Jimmy, you could take it to your reserve weekend as a heavy equipment operator and impress your buddies.
You can spin that prop till your arm falls off but it won't start until you put some gas in it.
The engine block manifold is almost the entire radius of the propeller itself, I’m genuinely amazed this thing flew at all
