Extremely underrated , and they were not popular, BMW riders did not. buy them, other riders did not want to chance newish design vertical twin though a ROTAX only the very discerning got the concept. 3.6 seconds to 60mph, 140mph. 60 mpg US. HANDLING is spot on, weight 469 lbs wet. THESE are brilliant and very affordable now but only a few will discover them.
Mine 2007 model...absolutely brilliant bike....handling...power...economy...Shame on BMW for discontinuing years ago.....
My brother lent me his F800ST last summer to go to Swanage from Warwickshire. Sadly it broke down on the return journey (ironically the hottest day of the year) whilst I was in the middle of the New Forest on the A31. I called the AA at 16:00 and at 23:30 when they still hadn't turned up I arranged recovery myself at a cost of £650.
Apart from the unfortunate breakdown I was actually quite impressed. Comfortable enough to do the 160 mile trip without the need for constant breaks, quick enough to not feel I was thrashing the engine, and the luggage was a real bonus as it meant I didn't need to carry a rucksack on my back. The fuel economy seemed decent too.
These are great machines especially with a slip on exhaust as it removes the catalytic converter
Very nice bike. I miss mine. I can kick myself for selling it and my F650GS too.
What is the brand of the crashbar?
