Zone attack as a response to any attack input already stalls the fuck out of MM players
Naito desu conq zone on red is literally on par with hito’s old Heby or the current shob on red
As a rep 70 conqueror I must say that the zone attack has to be the most defensive move in the entire game
Man i really dislike playing against him because of the option selects. Hope he gets some chances soon that balances his offense and defense a bit more
True, i still hope they do something about it though. Making the heroes fun to play with- and against is a high priority in my book. Fighting optimal playing conquerors in any context is super obnoxious.
Razz Z i think the game is headed to being more offensive (cuz of testing grounds) so conqs defensive game might flourish a bit more if people dont think, but if everyone adjusts to the changes and all the same problems exist with each character then his offense is worth a look

Ah, I remember when his Heavy Openers are the core of the Superior Mixup , you get free heavies when someone tried to GB you. It was as satisfactory as a knife coating a toast with smooth butter. Until it got nerfed, that makes me feel sad.
30 rep on Conq, and so far the best ways to keep a steadfast defense are timing and reading, and that is not easy.

With those janky animations that ubisoft never smoothed out, I always thought they were, like, 366 or something like that.

He doesn't have janky animations, and quite frankly, he never did.
The problem with his lights on release were that the lights were sped up to 500ms even though the animation was still 600ms like in the test servers. This was patched really quickly yet people still think that his animations are incorrect, or more likely that they need an excuse for getting hit by 500ms lights.

Is This Better? The animation is the problem. Everyone can parry nobushi’s lights because the animation is easy to recognize. To this day I have never partied a jj’s light because I cannot tell if it will be a heavy or a light. I have over 100 reps, his animations suck
Is This Better? They’re not incorrect, they’re just visually confusing as it always looks as if the attack is going to come from the opposite direction that it actually does. Not to mention his heavy animations look quite similar to his light animations, which throws a lot of players off their game.
While you have one that is very similar, there's another one, heavy fb option-select, just press heavy and fb at the same exact timing, you either parry or go into fb, its similar to the charged heavy into fb but you go into fb faster, it works against jj heavy/light dodge attack and softfeints like pk and shaman, but obviously looses to gb if you dont input a zone.

one OS not covered in this video is the forward bash OS
You input your parry just barely before forward dash into bash. The timing is a bit strict but should be save from feint to gb if done early enough.
I didn't forget it, I left it out, as it's not that great on conq, as he (sometimes) buffers a GB after a parry
freeze that and a bash option select is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural

@@subversa1391 Shugoki's zone isn't that bad of an option select. It's only as slow as Conq's and it has decent hyper armour for trading. Also, it uses just as much stamina as any other character's zone attack.
Now that this video is out I expect more conqueror nerfs to be upon us soon

I've mained conq since open beta and I'm still learning new shit. And his limited offense forces you to get creative.
If you're feinting with Conq, I find that throwing left heavy is best for all guard feints, and right heavy is best for bash feints.
One of the many complaints I had about conq was he was way too safe. He is still one of the characters where I play and miss my timings or dodge late and still get rewarded with a punish to my enemy.

The soft feint heavy into bash does not work on Cent. Too fast of heavies, safer to go into full guard vs him
A quick note, as Nux v Conq was brought up quite a bit. This is one of those things I know changed, but have no real way of proving it. Nuxias trap hitbox was slightly improved to where she can consistently trap Conquerors unlock zone in minions. Before the hitboxes were roughly equal in distance, meaning getting that trap off was very finnicky. Something to enjoy for the 7 nuxia mains in this world :p

I hate it that his heavy superior block are so brutally difficult to do AND CAN GET BLOCKED BY SOME, and only gets you 25 damage....
Superior lights from Valk are way faster ans easier to do/time and even do more damage and are always a hit

Why did we need a video giving conqs more options? He’s already an incredibly hard character to punish with zerk, this just makes all of those conq players that do watch these even stronger.
TheGamingMelon I’m allowed to complain and talk about whatever I’d like as are all of you allowed to do the exact same thing. Even if it helps others predict conq it’s still giving all of those who already played him to a good degree even more tools to just slow down gameplay.

@@PrawnyBoy53 The real question is are you tripping on something? Conqs big number of option selects pales in front of zerk. Zerk has amazing and easy to access pressure, strong HA, very good damage, a very good deflect, very good unblockables, very good feats and an infinite chain.

Midas Ra Zerk has no defense and completely reactable offense whereas conq has extremely strong defense and extremely strong offense. The parallels between the two don’t exist.
There's a Conq main on CZcams named Fishmo who can show a good amount of the option selects and the power of Conq primarily in a 1v1 situation. The only problem is that some of those videos are pretty old.
I hope they give conq new animations. I understand conquerors were prisoners sent into combat, but every other knight actually fights well and has some form of style to their swings while conq just throws the flail around and bashed. They should do it like how they changed berserker.

There's 1 more option select you missed but it's probably cause nobody does it. When doing the charge heavy, instead of hard feinting it instantly where you get that "shoulder jiggle" animation, you soft feint into a bash by basically clicking GB at the same time you started the charge or holding the charge and then pressing GB
Before I watch video, I have been trying out conq. He feels like hes missing things compared to characters like, well everyone else. Punishing his dodged bash is to easy and everyone has unblockables or soft feints now. I did not enjoy the grind to rep 8.

He requires a lot more reads and planned inputs then most other characters. But that makes him a lot harder to read and react to. Though of course you should get used to using the bash and zone as a safety reaction so you don't get bonked, I'd say don't spam them and try to get good with the option selects.

So you are assuming that i can parry on light timing? What kind of magic is this?
It's pretty easy right now; make sure your monitor has a good response time (sub-5ms for best results), your input delay is low and your net isn't hot garbage. over 100hz refresh rate on your monitor also helps, but 60hz is good too. The higher refresh rate just means you'll have a frame or two more to notice the attack. However, playing at anything lower than 50fps will make parrying lights extremely hard... Ask console players. Lol

(Seriously, i was ready to receive some "get good, noob", but bro, i play For Honor for 1 and half year, and i still have big difficulties to even block light attacks. I don't even know how many time i passed training against a light spam bot.

Conq is the perfect character for people with bad reactions. Full block and zone are your friends.

Honestly the only option select that cause me troubles is the side bash. The zone to option select is a joke and now that you can GB conq with feints is even easier.

conqs who know how to mix up his option selects properly are sooo frustrating to fight. i hate it lol.
All I want is for feint>GB to counter the zone. It's a fullblock, but completely ignores the other fullblock rules. I'm fine with it being immune AFTER the first spin, but he should at least be GB vulnerable to let someone like PK have a chance to properly read the option select instead of him zoning on reaction to GB every time.
there are maybe 10 people who can zone on reaction to a GB.

If it takes 5 correct reads to kill warden then it takes 15 correct reads to kill conq.
It takes the same. On a correct read you get a free GB. Besides, conqs offence is trash, so if you would stop attacking without pause it would be beneficial

If you ever get GB out of your offense, then that means you suck, since conq offense is practically immune to GB.
The whole point is conq's defense is unpredictable thus making it strong.
And his offense is not GBable, making him the most annoying character, unless counter picked.
@@teinmeizeshi5209 It seems that you don't know anything about Conq. And I don't even play him that much (my main is mostly Glad). His heavies are as GB vulnerable as others. His full block is easily GB'ed. On a missed bash, you get a free GB. On any of his other defensive options you get a parry.

Conq full block is mainly used to cancel attacks, competent conqs will simply tap it and you will literally only have 100ms window to connect GB. If you're playing against conqs who hold the full block waiting for you to GB them, then they have no idea how to play.
And if you're playing against conqs whose offensive play you can GB, then maybe I should make a smurfing account, since all conqs I play against are ppl who are not stupid and they will never be GBd in 1v1.
His heavies can NOW be GBd with the same window like Cent, but that doesn't really help when he can use lights or soft feint heavy into bash since If the conq is not stupid he will try to counter GB and ultimately bash you cuz he can. Just like how HL can in offensive stance kick you on reaction against your GB.
@@teinmeizeshi5209 Conqs full block Is slower than the other heroes full block. He can only successfully use it on read, not reaction. His recovery time is still GB'able and the vulnerability is still bigger than 100 ms. If you tap full block your stamina gets deleted fast.
Conqs soft feint are way too slow to actually be useful. If you got hit by them I don't know what to say.
Maybe instead of saying your opponents are too good to get GB'ed,maybe you should work on your strategy because on a correct read you can severely punish the conq. His GB vulnerability nerf literally destroyed his only other possible mix-up so he now relies only on bash and lights for the offensive,both which are punished hard on a correct read and reward little.

There's one you missed, he has a dodge attack option select. You did mention that by pressing heavy and dodge at the same time that the beginning of the dodge has parry properties but this also means that he can dodge attack as an option select.
Input forward movement, heavy, dodge, and GB all at the same time and Conq will either parry or do his bash.

He was my first main, I remember when stats were a thing. His fullblock unblockable did like 40-45ish. You could actually kill people. I left him because now it takes forever to kill someone

Can't edit. Anyways, I tried testing this vs a Cent bot that was set to alternate between light and heavy attacks (given the comparable attack speeds between L and H attacks), and couldn't get the OS mechanic to work ... In other words, I used Cent cuz I figured the attack speeds would force me to try to light-parry everything, heh.

What if Conqueror tries to parry a heavy or an unblockable, then the opponent faints it into guard break.
Does Conqueror just eat that guard break even if he faints his parry attempt into full block?

Using which option select needs a read. I think it's not a bad tradeoff for conq not being able to hard feint.

@@chrisz7083 The full block can get you instantly GBed, against good players its not worth it as they coud just hard/soft feint (especially raider) Option selects are healthy, some just need balancing (and not only on conq)

To be able cover multiple options kind of imbalances everything. Some heros have option selects or better than other heros, some have multiple OS and some have none. Erase them, if you can, and it would be much easier to balance all around I'm thinking.

Yeah it's 500 ms I think. Slower than all other full blocks. So you use it as a prediction rather than trying to react to stuff

Could you do a video about lights parry's and deflects also tools that characters have like shields and bashes and ect... I need help to learn how to do all those things properly.
If you parry a light, do a heavy to punish. If you parry a heavy, do a light. Bashes usually confirm a light. If you duardbreak someone, you get a side heavy (top heavy for some heroes). If you dodge, you can't counter gb. The first couple hundred ms on heavy attacks also leave you unable to counter gb.

Conq reworked is probably one of the most fun heros of the knights faction.
Black Prior holds the top spot and Lawbringer in 3rd place.
Cent mighaswell climb up after his rework but he's more fun to play as then PK or Warden.
Warden which is one of my main 3 heros I play is considered very strong, but his play style is Soo boring I get sick of it.
I dont think you're having fun because the characters are actually fun.
I think you're having fun because you are playing the 4 best characters in the game.
Lawnmower is S-tier, has best bash and light party punish in game.
Warden is S-tier, has absurd bash 50/50 potential and an actually functioning rollcatch.
BP is a shield bash spammer that relies entirely on reads.

I had more fun playing Kensei and Raider then Warden. i would easily sacrifice strength for extra movesets that make the character less boring to play.
I mostly play lawnmower, warden and conq. i tried some of PK and Valk and i had a lot more fun. i'm just sad that most people assume the strength of a character with fun.
Imagine releasing something like Warden with its current movesets right now. boring gameplay. oh wait, they did, it was called Hitokiri, the most hated hero of all the other heros of the session cuz she is a one trick pony mixup intensive character just like Warden.
Except maybe Hitokiri is even more boring to play then Warden.

Black Prior is definitely not S tier. If you got spammed by the bash and lost it's definitely your fault
Lawbringer is A tier but could use a recovery nerf on the shove and heavy parry punish. His light parry punish is only 40 damage
Conq isn't S tier my man. He has many defence options, but lacks huge offence

in my opinion, after the latest changes which removed the most fun parts about him and only left his annoying defensive parts, he should be kust rewoked again. He should get a more offensive and versatile moveset to follow the trend towards more aggressive and offensive playstile. Its kinda sad. I love Conq especially the pre rework and the pre (last)patch conq
Carlos Domingues the reason all my friends stopped playing for honor was cause of shield spams and light spams from all characters and the time where a Conq really ruin my day was because he kept spamming his bash but honestly his unfun to play the fun part of his heavies gone now and to fight against them it’s easy sure his zone is annoying since it’s his only choice to save his ass from getting gb since his the only character that can’t faint in the game

Joseph The wildcard true. He was the only character that really needed the 100 ms vulnerability. And why the hell shouldnt conq be able to faint normally now ? the changes were made to make feint into gb better but he cant even do it (which makes his unblockable heavy nearly useless btw)

As you can see on the vid Conq isn't a smashing-keyboard character like BP. It takes FOREVER to kill someone with Conq, because his damage is too low for a "Hard-Hitter" (as Ubi likes to call him).

I think conq can just bash and not be GBd.
when you parry heavy timing and dodge cancel, can you not just chain a bash to snuff the GB? Also that's crazy conq gets instant dodge cancel out of charged heavy and shinobi's was nerfed hard, even though he has 100ms GB vulnable dodge bash and Shinobi's has 700ms GB vulnerability. Makes no fucking sense why they'd attempt to standardize this and still give conq a clear privilege.
IN MY OPINION: In a game that is built around outplaying and punishing your opponent, no character just hav an option that is 100% safe to a majority of the cast. Just sayin.
