Apple’s expected to introduce a new generation of iPhones this fall, and there have been several feature leaks from reputable sources that we’ll cover right now.
Similar to last year, the standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models aren’t expected to feature any major design changes. Instead, Apple is likely to make several incremental improvements.
Based on leaked dimensions, the 15 and 15 Plus will have the same designs as the 14 and 14 Plus. An aluminum frame with flat edges, and a glass front and back. This means iPhone 14 cases should fit the new 15 models. - Věda a technologie

The action button sounds really interesting. Reminds me of how you could program the bixby button on old galaxy phones to whatever you wanted with a third party app.

Something Samsung has long been having!
Older iPad models allowed you to customize whether the side switch was rotation lock or mute, and we might finally get to see that come to iPhone. But yet, if it is just a software update and not an overhaul to the button, why can't this action button come to all phones that have a silent switch and will support iOS 17?

The dark red for the iPhone 15 pro is amazing This is the first time Apple makes a product red on a pro model but I just upgraded my iPhone 11 to 14 pro so I don’t need a upgrade for awhile still rocking my 14 pro in space black I’ve had it about 2 months so no need to upgrade yet

i went from a iphone 6s to a iphone 14 pro max, i seriously doubt ill buy the 15,16,17 and maybe 18-19 (if they exist), ive had the iphone for ~3 months now, and its still at 100% battery capacity, still almost as powerful (i mean its only been 3 months) etc

Life hack for those not in the know: we already have something like the action button. It’s the back-taps feature that lets you set certain actions to double or triple tapping the back of the phone

I recently tried the Pixel 5 with its fingerprint scanner and it’s honestly the worst; Face ID all the way.

This is good and all but I'm hoping we hear some info about any changes to the camera system cause the s23 ultra has basically closed the gap regarding pics and almost there with video quality.
I’m thinking probably the first time in over ten years I won’t upgrade. The past few years’ upgrades have truly been minimal and the hardware is already so good.

As someone with a custom ringtone, I (obviously) like having my ringer on at medium volumes. It’s a good little conversation starter, for example. I hope this action button is, like the Watch, customizable back to the ringer settings.
Undecided on Plus versus Pro Max. I like that Plus has the thinner camera bump, presumably better battery life, and the mute switch, but the rounded corners and titanium edge and 6x zoom are tempting
I'd buy 14 Pro Max instead of 15 Plus. You'll be getting additional Telescope camera, 120Hz screen, Always On, etc. for about the same price.

I can’t tell the difference between 120hz and 60, and AOD is kinda worthless to me when I have an Apple Watch SE 2022. Also I don’t really like how big the camera bump is on the pro models. I’m assuming the curved border probably roughly offsets the big camera bump as far as general comfort to use, so I think my final decision comes down to this:
- Plus has the volume/mute buttons I’m used to rather than a redesign, lower battery consumption, and costs less - about $5 a month less if I use it for 5 years, assuming the leaks are correct that it’ll be about $100 more than last year
- Pro Max is more durable, has higher specs, has thinner bezels, and has some nice bonus hardware features
Currently leaning towards Pro Max based on leaks, but most of the time I’ve been leaning towards Plus. Ultimately it’ll come down to when they’re actually released and I know precisely the difference between them, because nothing in this video is truly 100% confirmed. I’ve heard speculation that the Pro models will have more RAM than the baseline. I’ve heard they might have 256gb base storage and offset some of the cost of the “pro” difference. I’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds, but whatever happens it’s gonna be a big upgrade over my XR. I’m still more or less happy with my XR, but the main pain points I have with it are battery/RAM/camera.

@@crazywarp36 I’ve weighed the pros and cons of switching to Samsung, and ultimately decided that for how I use my phone, I could really go either way on them - so it doesn’t make much sense to throw away all my App Store purchases, make my Apple Watch worthless, lose iCloud, and learn a new OS. It’s kinda tough to make the switch from one platform to another.
If they do change the mute switch to an action button it should be positioned under the volume slider. I cant imagine pressing it on a pro max it would be so high up to use comfortably for remapped actions
I’ve already decided that no matter what I’m upgrading to the 15 Pro from my 12. I’m grabbing that Red color too. I’m looking forward to it.
The pink color on the rumoured iPhone 15 kinda reminds me of the pink color on the iPad 10.
It's too bad they can't do a periscope lens on the regular Pro. It's the feature I've most been looking forward to, but I think the Max would be too big for me

Actually that's what I'm contemplating too as the 11 Pro Max is still an incredible machine. There is no 5G coverage in my town so currently an upgrade is not required.

Honestly considering upgrading from the 14 Pro to the 15 Pro Max. Periscope lens, titanium frame, curved edges, USB-C, and that sweet dark red all look really enticing.
Titanium is certainly a great material - hopefully no bendgate!

I'm looking forward to a lighter Pro phone. My 14 Pro feels so heavy in the hand, every time I pick up my girlfriend's 12 I think about downgrading to a normal 14 but I know I'd miss the higher refresh rate and dynamic island and extra camera bits.

I like your idea, but the location changing would not be convenient. People are used to the old location.
@@itischeck yeah but people are also used to it being a switch and use for vibrate mode. Hense why they said they’re “replacing” it. They’re taking out a feature and adding a new one in its place. It won’t really matter in terms of muscle memory since you’d have to unlearn half of it anyway (slide gesture, command etc)

The periscope lens isn’t the first Pro Max exclusive feature. On the 12 Pro Max, it had a 2.5x optical zoom, where the standard 12 Pro had a 2x optical zoom.

I usually upgrade every year, except for the jump to the Xs from the X. Depending on the price changes and how the Titanium looks, I might be sticking with my 14 Pro Max for another year. I really like how the stainless steel looks on the phone and I think titanium looks too similar to aluminum.
They don't do the S models anymore for this exact reason. Going from a 14 to a 15 sounds a lot better then going from a 14 to a 14S. Even though, the improvements they make are the same.
Titanium is a great material but it's the overall design of the phone that is critical. I dislike the iPhone 14 Pro Max due to the protruding camera lenses.
A 30% better battery life seems like the best improvement, it would give me a 2-3 day battery life depending on usage.
I think I’ll update to the 15 pro max because 14 pro max’s appearance is better but 15 pro max’s battery is longer

Well, we did not get solid state buttons nor was the volume button unified, we got 5X optical zoom not 6X, no red colour, prices in the US did not increase. You were right about everything else tho.
I hope they will restore touch ID, I am still using an 8plus for that reason. I might stick to it for a couple years more...

No mention of Canada 😮. The iPhone 15 Pro Max in Canada should hopefully mirror the USA model. It’s taken Apple a long time to seal up the iPhone to potential moisture access. I’m awaiting the premium price as well. The game of one up man ship between the big manufactures of phones is mind boggling. What will the other guys come up with. Stay tuned

I'm using a regular iPhone 8 still, and really want to get all the "new" features apple has, like the face ID, island, and different layouts. Just wondering if I should just get the 14 pro max for size and battery, or wait on the 15 pro max for the same stuff and the usb-c, titanium, and red option. I just thought I wanted to keep the home button and smaller screen, but I've been jealous of my moms iPhone 11 and its camera and face ID. I just don't know If I'll be able to wait for the 15, lol.
Yeah Face ID is great, the larger screen sizes are not. The 13 mini seems to be the best compromise right now, the width is good but it’s just a little too tall. When they got rid of the home button I wish they’d just eliminated the space rather than extend the screen into it.

me too, i'm thinking of either saving up for a refurbished iPhone 14 pro once the iPhone 15 is released or the maybe the iPhone 15 instead. I really want to use the dynamic island and the better camera quality. For me, my iPhone's battery life has decreased by sm so i'd rather buy a phone which has a longer battery life.
Just wait for the 15. It’ll be here in September. Especially if you plan to lease it until it’s paid off.

The issue with the ringer switch is if you change the ringer with the touchscreen, the switch does not change by itself
Just hoping they bring the 120hz screen to the non-pro models personally. Sticking with my 12 Mini until that point, its the only thing I'd want to upgrade for, and I don't need the extra stuff that comes with a Pro

The change to USB C is certainly welcome. I'll keep checking for 5G coverage in my town. It exists in a nearby city and I'm seeing some infrastructure changes so hopefully soon.

I got one last December and the battery was phenomenal and then when iOS 16.2 hit it tanked, even on the most current update it still tanks like crazy and I’ve followed every little battery saver tip and yes my battery is at 100% health!

I use the mute button all the time so not really excited to see it changed… Also hope the volume rocker isn’t 1 big button as it will make it annoying to feel the whole button every time to see if you’re going up or down as the separation makes it easy to just know with a single touch
First time I am excited for a new iPhone. I have the 12 Pro Max that’s started to slow down a bit for me so will most likely upgrade to the 15. Definitely most excited for the addition of USB-C (finally). Will only need lightning chargers for AirPods at this point.

I Doubt it dude, apple is way too fucking cheap to do that, at best they might give the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 plus a 90 hertz screen, surprised they didn’t do that yet since all of their competitors release 90 hertz on their cheapest phones

I may be the only person with this view but I think Lightning is superior to USB-C in one way: It’s a tighter, more sturdy connection into the port than USB-C. Try to wiggle your lighting connector when plugged in and it doesn’t budge. USB-C on the other hand always seemed a more loose and wobbly fit, including in Apple devices.I used to hate Lightning because the older version had those gold plated pins which without fail would ALWAYS corrode, turn black ruining the cables.(Anyone who lives in humid areas knows what I’m talking about) Apple finally fixed this 2-3 years ago when they started using silver pins on Lightning connectors. But, I agree it is way overdue for a change hopefully Apple improves the USB-C standard.
Not disagreeing or anything, but I find it interesting how the golden pins used to corrode and silver don’t. I always thought it’s silver that can oxidize, and gold will not react with anything in the atmosphere

I definitely agree and like the fact that lightning is smaller, but as for how well it stays in, I've had a much better experience with USB-C.
@@tgr5588 good question. I don’t know the actual metals used in these cables, by gold and silver I was referring to the color of the pins. But I take it you also experienced the pin corrosion that would ruin every Lightning cable? I swear i would have to buy a new one every 2 months before they fixed it. I’m confident it has to do with the humidity, as people in dryer parts of the country had no idea what we were talking about.
