- @Copwatchtv obtained body camera footage from the Dallas Police Department of an incident that happened in February of 2023. Dallas Police were called to a local nightclub where Douglas Henshell, 59, was apprehended for allegedly flashing a police badge and claiming to be an officer.
While talking to officers he had quite the claims for his military career as a special operations soldier.
Henshell was arrested and taken to jail.

Yup! Ahahaha! I (wrongly) used one of my friend’s older sister’s ID’s years ago to get into bars/clubs. I was 19 and most of my friends were a few years older than me. The night I turned 21 I finally whipped out my real ID at the same place we’d been going to just about every Friday and Saturday night, for months. Or I should say the night BEFORE I turned 21 bc those bouncers looked at my ID, then me, then saw that birthday and said NOPE! Made me go sit out in the car til midnight. It served me right, though. I was so mad, more so embarrassed. I’ll never forget that birthday, that’s for sure.

We found my grandfather's service medals AFTER HE DIED...he received a Silver Star in WW2 and we had no idea...he never said a word....real heros don't boost because behind those medals are nightmares we can't fathom.
100% I served with some battle hardened war fighters and they only ever brought it up if it helped with training. It was never used to brag. Those guys typically don’t talk to civilians about that kind of stuff because many people just wouldn’t get it. Also they just don’t want that attention, whether it’s good or bad attention.

I'm not sure about the US, but in the UK it's not unusual for the licensing authorities to send in people under 18 (UK drinking age is 18) to shops and bars to try and buy alcohol. If they get away with it then the venue gets a big fine and usually loses their liquor license for a few days. All it takes is for one bar tender to not look at the wristband when they're busy and they get in a heap of trouble. So it's just not worth doing the X on a wristband thing

Yah, but on the other hand it's extremely rare for someone not to know right from wrong, even if they have mental health issues. He clearly knew that what he did was wrong, or else he wouldn't have lied about the exchange. He might have some serious issues that are unaddressed and that is sad, but even still, you can't have people walking around impersonating law enforcement and flashing a badge. Imagine what kind of bad things he could get up to with an intoxicated individual that might think he actually was a LEO. Needs a proper evaluation but of course that won't happen.

I have met people like him. They have a nonstop line of BS that actually seems believable at first, then it becomes obvious that what they're saying is ridiculous. He seems coked out too.
In 2019, me and a crew of my fellow welders (as well as a couple of engineers) would travel up to Indianapolis to work at a Toyota manufacturing plant that was short staffed. One of the guys on our crew was 44 years old, so born approximately in 1975. He tried telling us that he was a Special Op who would run “ghost missions” in the Middle East during the First Gulf War. So according to him, he was a highly trained OPS soldier when he was 15 years old 🙄 he was an absolute idiot, and no one called him out on it because the pay was great and we were there to make money, not argue with a coworker and risk causing an incident that would end our assignment. The guy ended up getting sent home and fired because he was harassing this poor 19 year old girl that worked the front desk at the hotel we were staying at, if that tells you anything about what kind of person he truly was.

Even when people think it’s BS often times people don’t want trouble or they don’t know enough about the military to call them out. I was a regular soldier but met plenty special forces guy. Most of those guys won’t even tell us they’re special forces let alone any civilian. 😂
