I've listen to this over 100 times and it still gives me chills. Kasey is awesome🇦🇺🇦🇺
Dopamine af
Only a hundred? 😂🤣😂🤣
I am obsessed with watching reactions to this. I live for certain moments where I know that she is just going to blow their minds.
@@sueburn536 same ...as sad as it sounds I search every morning for any new channels that react to it😂😂. Just love their faces when they hear it. A few have been arseholes (philistines😒)... but majority LOVE IT!! As they should🥰
🔥🔥🔥This is the only cover of an Eminem song I have liked. She killed it
Followed Kasey since the Nineties. She has a repudiation for making and audience feel what she's singing for a reason.
Isn’t her arrangement amazing, as well as the different emotions she brings to it. Loved your reaction.
This old man salutes you for the Shooting Star reference. You've done your homework, kid! Kudos
Dad on slide guitar was also brilliant 👏
I've listened to this cover a bunch since the video was released and I actually prefer it to the original now.
Brilliant! Kasey didn't just 'SING' this Kasey 'LIVED' it. Slowly telling the story...then showing the emotion of the song....then ANGER! Wow I had my hand on my heart and tears in my eyes.. we all went on a journey with this performance. I pray that Eminem gets to see it. I'd love to know his reaction too. Your reaction was something else too. So respectful as you expressed your appreciation of this cover version. ps that was her dad on slide guitar. Eminem's lyrics are so powerful and Kasey did a great tribute to his song imho. Wow!
@@digimont thats good news. I am losing my eye sight so cut * paste helps me..
@stanroach2842 I know, that was 8 months ago when I didn't know. I've deleted it.
Kasey is a talented singer song writer, her first three albums are killer … Came from a musical family, that lived way out in the bush. That’s her dad on the slide!
What an emotive reworking of such an iconic song and coming from a Country singer paring it down and making it her own. Starting when she was nine years old in her fathers band she went solo l think in 1999 and has such a successful career having been inducted into the Australian Music Industry Hall Of Fame as the youngest female performer.
I was watchin’ in the beginning and the mood all changed 🪕🇦🇺🪕🇦🇺
🔥 She brought the same level of intensity and emotion as Em *AND* added melody with a ballsy bluegrass spin 😳🔥 Still prefer the original but this was killer 👏
I prefer Eminem original "Lose Yourself" also!! I love the movie 8 Mile. 😊💓🤘✌️
I'll give this version credit though, it's the only cover that's ever done the original justice. That I've seen anyway.
I'm not a Rap fan, but Kasey brought my attention to it. I prefer her cover, I'm biased though, cause I'm a Kasey fan.
Lose yourself in her performance. 👏 ❤
This track is on her spotify, so I think it’s a given that Eminem heard it. Amazing cover, great reaction too. ❤
Apparently Em heard it and approved her putting it on her Spotify.
Playin' in the beginning, then the mood all changed. Beautiful and haunting in the beginning, then the bomb drops. So we change up to dirty, sweaty and grungy! This is real music. Don't play by someone else's rules, make your own.
Kasey, her band and her family are highly respected musicians here in Australia. But she isn't the only Aussie to totally change the mood of a hit song. You MUST really do yourself a favor and watch John Farnham's cover of the Beatles classic, Help.
John is an absolute legend with a career beginning in the 60's. Search for John Farnham, Help, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Kasey and John will change your experience of music forever.
G'day from Australia.
Enjoyed your reaction! Kasey's cover is phenomenal!🔥🔥🔥
Chris Cornell's Billie Jean and Nothing Compares To You is outstanding!! 😊💓🤘✌️
That was beautiful!! Very creative, the only rap i know is Eminem and the artist Ren. 8 Mile was an awesome movie. Its crazy and it is very folky and very passionate performance. Oohh there we go start rockin!! I like when it gets heavy rockin!! Goosebumps !! Awesome reaction Rory and thank you Danny for requesting this! 😊 💓🔥🤘✌️
Great reaction to a great rendition. She has lived the song. Thats why she can deliver such a fire 🔥performance.
Enjoyed your reaction very much ❤. Evidently Kasey us a huge Eminem fan and had wanted to cover this for years. The Quarantine gave her the time to create this arrangement- which has become my shower song to start my day❤
Kasey FELT it man…..
Want to know something funny? I'm Australian and I discovered this masterpiece on an English reaction channel. Thank you my man 👍
Kasey's "I An't No Little Girl" is Killer to, either one Live at Paste or the offical video, This cover is Just mesmerising Fire
Live at Paste is brilliant.
Personally the Bluegrass Underground version is better just with that little more instrumentation and her just singing and not playing seems to elevate her performance.
Yeh, Aint no little girl would be good as your next step in seeing Kasey in her wheelhouse. Then, for a change of pace, go for 'Nullabor'.
Yeah, that song is raw like this. I just love her song writing and raw talent. Fan from her beginnings.
Kasey is pigeonholed as a country artist and her albums probably are..however, live she is hard and heavy country rock when she needs it to be .. also she strays into other genres and has performed with hip hop and rock artists live ❤ as another reactor said, when the mood all changed *and now she’s unhinged?!?*
Great reaction. Thanks. The start reminds me of Patti Smith's banjo intro to her Nirvana cover of Teen Spirit, and the band - when it drops in - sounds quite Pink Floydish. Amazing arrangement and performance. Kasey's fan-base is Country and Folk, so I think the audience was blown away. (Only a few people in the audience recognized the song at the outset.)
She made us all lose it, in the music and the moment… I ain’t never letting this go…
She was playing in the beginning, but the mood all changed
She hits notes that do something to your brain, make you go all funny yeah.
Since Eminem has seen this, he called her and removed the copyright for her, and she has since released it on Spotify...I dont follow him closely enough to know if he's ever done that for anyone before...really, really cool.
This is a lie. You don't need anyone's permission or copyright exception to post a cover on Spotify. There is no evidence that Em has even seen this cover 6 months later and these disgusting lies still persist. Post evidence, or stop trying to derive some kudos on shit you know nothing about try hard.
Love your musical knowledge and insights. Great reaction.
Best cover ever. Bloody brilliant. She ripped it up.
She blew the roof off!
Love Kasey, she is so good live, and this is an outstanding performance. That’s her dad on lap steel.
I did not think it was a whole different song…I just know now that I did not really understand Lose Yourself as much as I get it now.
The artist, herself a huge Eminem fan, found him…right where she thought he’d be…and graciously allowed us to better understand what he was trying to say. And I have read that at the end she was exhausted for sure but her bow was paying homage to the song writer.
I am an immediate Uber huge fan of Kasey Chambers now. What other legendary music resides in her portfolio?
And I swell with even greater awe and homage to the greatest lyricist who ever live.
So…my brothers and sisters, this is “Lose Yourself”.
I have to disagree. Eminem is definitely NOT the only artist to bring the emotions and the feeling. He’s a great lyricist but I’m pretty confident in saying that just about ANY of our Aussie Artists bring the meaning, the emotion and the feels to their music. Any Aussie Gen-Xer knows exactly what I’m talking about. Our music is raw, pure, unfiltered, soul stirring magic. Just look at John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes, Vanessa Amorosi and Kasey Chambers. ❤️🇦🇺
And then finish by watching Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu.(dec) RIP
@@longjohn5322 yep👍🏼 I defy anyone to find a crap Aussie Artist❤️🇦🇺👏🏻
Absolutely ❤
@@longjohn5322Treaty ❤
Aussie artists seem to have the ability to pull on the heartstrings and sing pure emotion. ❤
Kasey is a great artist, usually country but not opposed to crossing into other genres. But taking such a known song and keeping the essence but still making it her own is brilliant. She is feeling it and has lived it and it shows. Eminem's brilliant lyrics, her shredding a banjo and her dad on a steel slide...all works so 👍
Her father Bill on the slide guitar brother on bass
Man you need to Dive into Ren - talk about telling you how he feels- Starry with “Hi Ren”. Note that this is a live performance- plugged in guitar a mic on his left shoulder. 2 fixed cameras and a handheld They did 4 takes to get The Takeand only used that film for the video.
He has heard it and liked it, gave his permission to her to put it on Spotify and I think Apple Music also…nuff said.
Would be something if Em would join her. He just did a cameo at the Ed Sheeran concert here in Detroit and came on during the song
... and then they also did Stan. (I wasn't there) But having him join Kasey would be incredible
That Queen shirt is bad@$$
I grew up with Rap in the 90s, mainly WC Deathrow, and love Eminem’s earlier stuff around the 8mile D12 DJ Green Lantern Eminem show Era.
Anyway I never really liked Lose Yourself as much as 8mile and Rabbit Run, but this version I like listening to it much more.
I'm at 638 mate! You completely broke it down!
Ren catches emotion and pain at a level I've never heard before. You should check him out. Start with Hi Ren.
❤❤❤❤
I love how you just shake your head watching her do it, like this cant be real man, such magic from her.
It's like she wrote a song about somebody she didn't know! This is deep!
Was waiting for you to do this one. Knew you'd love it.
that cowboy is her father..lol
that old guy is her dad Bill...he brought up the kids on the Nullarbor Plains...the most dead place in Oz...Null Arbor it's Latin then they started the Dead Ringer Band and the rest is history...she's a thing...the family are a thing. It's a long way from the Roadhouse.
Awesome reaction man. It's how I came across this masterpiece, via other reactions. The only downside with everyone listening to all these reactions is her channel is not getting the hits it deserves. Go listen at least once everyone!!
Check out her , Seven nation army' cover.
This has got to be the best cover of all time. She is a Bluegrass/Country singer in Australia. She took a 20 year old rap song, tore it to shreds, & made it her motherfucking own!!! The anguish in this performance is on another level! After touring with her family's The Dead Ringer Band from the age of 9, she went solo. Her debut album was critically acclaimed, yet radio staions wouldn't play her songs, so her early solo career mirrored Eminem's, which is why she chose this song. Her song, Am I Not Pretty Enough was her big fuck you to the radio stations. Ironically, it became her first hit, played on every radio station in the country. Youngest woman to be inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame. Now you understand why she feels this song?
Kasey is a huge Eminem fan & during the Covid conspiracy she spent the time in lockdown reworking this song. She sprung it on the audience. This video is the first time she performed this song.. After the response she got, she asked the audience members to send her the footage, that she compiled into this video. Eminem has heard it & granted her permission to add it to her Spotify
Hey, check out Disturbed's cover of Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel
Onya Champ
The Hippie version of lose yourself😂😂
She’s isn’t a hippie. She’s a country singer.
The old guy on the slide is her dad.
Wait... That's what Johnny b Goode is about ? 😳 I've never even thought about it like that
❤
I've never heard Eminem lol.
Snoop said he had a billion streams, and got paid $45,000.
Pathetic!😖
That's the thing... why cover something if you are simply going to copy the original? Give it a new feeling!!
Wish you didn’t talk about others all the way through it..
Ooh my God! The Dexter is reacting... 😂
