You've got that right, but I hate the trash talking from the guys with too many insecurities about themselves that they feel the need to trash talk about something they have no clue what they're talking about. Just because someone stumbles doesn't mean they're a drunk, they could have vertigo. Or someone doesnt ever look into your eyes when they speak doesn't mean they are 'on the spectrum'. Just because someone smacks their gums doesn't mean they're into meth, their mouth may be somewhat abnormal which is why he may be into the big beard thing. Who really knows, maybe he used to be into Meth but why point it out? Maybe if you posted videos of yourself online I guarantee a lot of viewers would trash talk you but at least he stepped up and is doing something. Why trash talk? Because he's doing more with his life than you are? Because he owns a bike shop and you don't even own a decent home? In my Psychology courses (college) I learned the only reason people make fun of other people is due to their own insecurities. So for everyone of you who trash talk others, that's a red-flag that you don't like a lot about yourself so you might wanna rethink making fun of someone else especially when it's about something they have little to no control over. e.g. abnormality. Have a great day, immature punks. FYI, I do NOT know this guy or any of you but my wife and I felt a need to stand up for him because he really seems like a good guy who is offering up great advice.

    • @180FiftyFive
      @180FiftyFive Před 4 lety +4

@@lowhertzhighspl It's not a personal attack, calm down :) You can laugh at other people, and it doesn't mean you are insecure about yourself. This is CZcams and anyone putting videos of themselves on the internet is probably secure enough about themselves to be made fun of. This guy doesn't need you or anyone to 'stand up for him', keep your ego in check
Take Doug DeMuro as another example - we all laugh at him and his weirdness but we also love the channel and content. I don't think those deprecating comments matter to Doug (or this guy) when they are raking in hundreds of thousands/millions of views and subscribers.
Those other comments are entertaining and anyone with a sense of humor should be able to make jokes and laugh about themselves and others. It's not done in malicious way. Like I said, he makes great videos and I still like his channel, even with his crocs and bible verses.

Christian Hansen I don’t believe there is anything wrong about a Bible verse.... just spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. As a Christian, you are supposed to share your faith and spread the good news with others that don’t know Jesus as their savior. I don’t believe it is right to disrespect others, especially for no good reason. I feel it is very disrespectful and it doesn’t seem very logical or funny to try to put others down that are not doing anything wrong. That is MY* opinion and you may not agree with the last thing I said, and that is up to you. But, I hope you have a Blessed day🙏🏼.

Youre 100% right about the "cant replace everything" my 08 cbr600rr just went through the insurance claim process after being hit in a parking lot- while it was parked. An estimated $5300+ of damage from the accident to get it back to new stock as it was. I had bought it at 4000 miles and put 20k on it. Insurance of course considered it a total loss and gave me a fair payout for it. More than i gave 5 years ago honestly. Now im looking for my 08 cbr1000rr xD

As someone who didn't look at most of these things when buying a bike, this is very helpful. A lot of times, the rush of the sale or excitement can make you overlook small things, or not think to look at things. At least 2 of the bikes I bought had been down at some point, but I never would have known at the spot because I didn't doba full check of these things.
That said, both of those bikes gave me many years of good service and many thousands of miles of fun and I didn't regret either of the deals I got on them.
One, my first bike, a 2006 GSX-R 600. Put 25k on with not a single issue the entire time. Paid only $4,700 in 2010. Had a repainted side cover. Never leaked, never not started, never skipped a beat ever. Daily to school and back.
Second was an 04 R1. Was repainted a custom color, but only realized why when I removed some CF tape on the turn signal housing and saw scratches. 8 years later, still have it ,starts and runs perfect every time. Only things I've ever replaced other than general maintenance was a fuel pump relay and a starter solenoid. Still runs like a top, still fast AF. As long as you know how to care for the bikes you buy, even buying something that's been down isn't necessarily an awful decision, but definitely be informed. Being more diligent in the buying process maybe would have saved me a few hundred bucks over 13 years, but both bikes are some of the best I've ever owned mechanically. As always, buyer beware.

Here's a tip: if you have a good (great!) mechanic, who also happens to be your mechanic, don't trust that he'll be able to suppress his own greed when evaluating the bike. I hadn't been around, dad took him and then right after the purchase there were several things that needed doing. His bread and butter. I'm waiting for the next big thing that will need servicing so that we can recuperate our money (from him and I know it's going to be a battle, meh).

    (PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7)
    "BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING".
Not even the vehicle purchase amen.
It's a good start knowing what to look for upon approaching the bike so start looking from the ground up such as: tires, rims, brake rotor wear, fork tube seals, lower and upper engine leaks, chain and belt drive, oil, coolant levels and signs of burnt when they neglected change intervals, road rash lower forks, lower swing arm, lower frame and engine bolts on pegs, lower tip over bars, handlebars, grips and levers, mirrors damage, properly functioning switches, turn signals, fenders and tank seems to be the best path then fluids, suspicious wiring, low battery voltage will be connected to charging system failure, CHECK EVERYTHING.
TAKE A SECOND OR THIRD TO LOOK THE OVER TO COVER THE ENTIRE BIKE.

Plus, what shape the radiator is in. If there is ANY rust (even the smallest traces) anywhere visible on the cooling components, it could possibly mean that sometime distilled water hadn't been used and that can mean a number of things (like, replacing of -small- parts if lucky). He hasn't covered too much here, like checking the clutch, drive train and final drive - in detail - right... Compression of the engine and cylinders should always be measured, spark plugs removed and more. Even the clutch and other cables can (always?!) be replaced when buying a used bike. I've had a clutch cable snap on me, on a rental, going downhill in third, LOL (and no quick shift there :))

Check the chain and sprocket if the chain is all rusty gonna have to go ahead and change that and the sprockets too. Also check for missing bolts and rusty bolts so you can get an idea pf the history. None of that is a deal breaker but make sure it is priced right. Its nice to buy a absolite cherry used bike but sometimes if the price is right and your not scared to get your hands dirty a few issues so long as its not frame or motor or trans issues can get you a hell of a deal

Oldest comment I know, but for cruiser and touring bikes there's also a high(er) chance that they'll roll back the mileage, so hopefully the service manual will have exact dates and total mileage registered for each service (and it's not forged, because people also do that, blah). *so, like, the clutch is important - it may feel "tight", however they tweak it, but it may roll you around for like another 100 miles before it needs replacing and that's expensive AF. xD

Cases in point look hard I bought a bike with a blown engine and swapped it out but buying a 5000 bike and buying another 2500 bike to fix it sucked

Pay really close attention to the heads of bolts and fasteners for tool marks. Bring a bright flashlight with you for this purpose and possibly a small magnifying glass especially if your eyesight isn't perfect like mine. You can tell what was removed vs what wasnt removed. If the case has ever been split or if only the clutch cover has been off ect...

Absolutely fantastic advice, I'm returning to biking so on look out for a bike, Now with your advice. Can I ask your advice about owners name on log book or more so 'not on the log book'? Thank you again. Not much of a 2nd hand market here in Ireland. The white CBR is a stunner!

Whats the difference in distance between your hands on a gsxr750 and a cbr600. Ive tested the 08 cbr but its too narrow and uncomfortable for me. Im looking for a slightly wider sports bike but do not want to go for a litre bike. Any recommendations? Prefferably the 08 and newer bikes.

I didn't check very well on a bike that I bought recently but I got lucky that it wasn't too messed up. 06 gixxer with only 5k miles for 4500 hundred.

Also! If it’s a high mileage bike but really maintained well; It’s a good buy rather than a low mile bike that the owner might had neglected it and have not often oil changed.

Need to make that a little more specific when you're talking about the frame recall the way it came across to me the first time was you were talking about the CBR has the recall .. but you're talking about the GSXR not the CBR just want to make that clear for anybody else that might not have heard the beginning... huge fan of your videos brother I watch everything you put out.. I kind of do the same thing but on a much smaller scale buy and sell trade OfferUp Craigslist Marketplace you know it makes money.. I bought a 2008 CBR 600 Double R with 22,000 miles on it last year the bike would not start I gave him less than $1,000 for it when picked it up brand new battery just like you said but somebody use their fingers to tighten it all I had to do was tighten the terminals bike fired right up the ran perfect rode it for a few months and then sold it 4800 super super clean bike all I had to do was put new tires on it that was a good one missed that bike actually my recent purchase is a Honda VTR 996/1000 I freaking love this bike I've had much faster but I like the way the power is delivered such a fun bike to ride and it definitely is not a slouch
