    I had a 2010 Honda Fury. That's the first year of the Fury as well. I gotta say that I absolutely loved it. The Fury is an awesome motorcycle, and a great choice for someone looking for a cool custom chopper style bike that still performs. I wouldn't classify it as a muscle bike. It's not super strong, but very torquey. It'll reach the top speeds very quickly and rides really good and smooth for the style of bike it is. It could definitely benefit from a 6th gear, as 65-70 mph, mine definitely wanted another gear. It would keep climbing and I'd be at 75-80 mph without even realizing it. Otherwise it is setup great as fun, sporty, easy to ride chopper style bike. The only reason I don't own mine anymore, is due to an accident that resulted in insurance totaling the bike. But I do miss it. It's a great bike to own and ride.

    I love the prayer in the beginning. I’ve been thinking maybe I’m too old to have a bike at age. I haven’t had one since college. I got rid of it at my dad’s urging. He’s a dentist. And when a dentist is called into the ER it’s a motorcycle reason he says. Every single time. He paints a terrible picture from there in trying to reattach the mandible to a surgeon removing handle bars from the torso. A surgeon delicately working on a hand. An Anesthesiologist earning their pay. The prayer made that all boil back up. Guess I’m not ready. The texters and the Karens are too prelevant. Beyond the drunks. Way beyond. Thank you too for your outlook on life. I think you’re totally onto something. I quite my job Monday. Just quit. Nothing in the pipe. Lots in savings but not a lifetime. Everyday I do what I want. I field calls in which everyone is so worried. I drive non hitch hikers, I love magnets and electricity. Now money. I do think everyone should try and spend $100,000 in one month. @SrkCycles, I own a 2010 Fury, and the original bike, in its OEM config, houses a 40+ mpg, 1300cc engine that produces a measly 50-55 HP (from factory). But by having that high flow intake, and those sick pipes installed on there, it throws the fuel map out of whack (as it would with any car or bike). And so, there is very likely either a Power Commander on it, or the ECU might have a sticker slapped on the side specifying it's been reprogrammed (probably by Guhl Motors). So if this Fury is putting down upwards of 70+ to the floor, then it would have almost certainly been reprogrammed; and you're SOO right: the Fury, with opened up parameters, is an amazing ride!! Like adding a whole 'nother cylinder to the bike; giving it some soul; some gumption! Lol.
    I'm 5'7", so I'm a bit more stretched over the tank than Shawn, but I can break that back tire loose at stop lights, and even smoked a Caddy ATS down the highway. I also scrape the pegs going thru Lime Creek Rd at nearly every corner and she just keeps on leanin'. So I guess it's fair to say it is definitely a confidence-inducing cruiser. Actually scraped my left boot heel down a bit... As the angle of your foot sits your heel a tad-bit lower than the peg.
    For it being a cruiser, gimmicked as a "factory chopper", it rides really nice, is very forgiving, extremely comfortable (unless you're the passenger), and it gets mistaken (by HD riders) for being a "custom" Harley all the time. But, for real, the back seat was likely an afterthought, haha! It really is a solo bike, with a small pillion for bar-hopping on the weekends. If she has to sit on that darn thing for more than an hour, I'm in trouble. Hahaha!

    Here's some wisdom for you Sean. Riding my motorcycle gives me happiness. Having enough money to pay my bills and financial obligations gives me feelings of confidence and well being. Doing the job that I love makes me happy knowing that there are many other jobs out there that suck the soul out of you. Knowing that I am loved and cared for by my family makes me happy. All of this and just being a decent person is worthy of happiness. Didn't need a book to tell me this stuff, after 60 years of living on this globe it just makes good sense. I just wish others would come to the same conclusion.

    My 2010 Honda Stateline was rough on my lower back. I'm 6' 1" and I wish I had spent more time on the initial test drive. After 1hr of riding my lower back was trashed. The Stateline and the Fury are basically the same bike. I used it mainly for around town driving and I'm glad the bike wasn't too expensive. Still a fun bike, a lot of compliments, and the 1300 is a nice motor.

    I owned a Fury it was a good bike, but after a while I felt like a pretend chopper guy. I would come across guys who built their choppers, and the Fury just seemed fake next to their bikes. Actually....I lost my wife and kids to the world. I fell in love with a young lady and she died from injuries from a fall. I was injured and I needed help. I rode my motorcycle, drove my Jeep, high top Chevy Express 2500, and my Ford Fusion SE to therapy and group sessions. ( I was all alone and taking a sabbatical from work. I needed to keep all the batteries charged....I would have drove my "Breaking Bad Bounder" if the parking lot had been bigger.)
      I was never actually suicidal....I rode with ALL gear, all the time. Sometimes I wore my hi-vis. Areostitch Roadcrafter suit and matching Arai helmet for a 6 mile ride! I didn't mind dying but I didn't want to become seriously injured, financially ruined, unable to work, on top of being all alone and suddenly not able to attract women as well as I could before "the crash".
      The therapy helped. Riding my ST1300 gave me satisfaction and people seemed to be interested in getting to know me . I won't say that having and actually RIDING a nice motorcycle will make everyone happy but for me it has been a rewarding experience.
      Five years later, I just completed a 10 day, 3300 mile tour on that same bike and I have been married for 2 years. We believe that God prepared us to love and care for each other. My beautiful wife came all the way from the Philippines and while I have been running up and down the roads on a fast Honda.

      HumGuitar it's 1300cc and yes, the tank is tiny. The Yamaha Stryker has better numbers performance wise and a larger gas tank, plus the Stryker is belt drive. The Fury is shaft driven 🤮

      @jonnyg3672 Před 6 lety +2

      HumGuitar I went with a Stryker: corners better (road both), bigger gas tank (seat is comfortable I like long trips), metal fenders (Honda is plastic, my preference). The fury is super cool just wasn’t for me. Bye the way the 1300 in both bikes are solid as a rock.

      @HumGuitar Před 6 lety

      Jonny G thanks, I'll take all the advice I can get. I'm only going to be able to afford to buy one motorcycle, so I want to get the one that is best for me. I've watched a few videos/reviews of the Stryker, and it seems (because of being so low) that it is prone to scrape the pegs. Do you have that problem? I really like the looks of the Stryker though, and I would also like to take some long trips with my wife as well. The Stryker's bigger gas tank and more comfortable seat puts it much higher on my list than the Fury. I'm also looking hard at the 650 Vulcan S and the V-Strom 650, mainly for economic reasons. The Vulcan 900 is also a possibility.

    • @silverfox392
      @silverfox392 Před 6 lety +2

      HumGuitar I liked my Stryker, it will definitely scrape the pegs if you corner aggressive. I don't think it's Max lean angles are really much different from many other cruisers out there, but it's been a while so I'd have to look it up. Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about pegs scraping, if they do you certainly don't want to go much farther but I never felt like the bike couldn't handle itself in the corners. Felt pretty light and nimble in all honesty I've you get used to the rear end feeling like it's taking forever to turn in. Definitely a different feeling from bikes with less rake / shorter wheelbases. For the $ you can't really beat the Stryker of the bikes you listed - IMO

The problem was Honda made the Fury just after the end of the Chopper Craze. By then you could pick up a $40,000 dollar Big Dog for $10- $15 thousand dollars. Happiness is a feeling. It is completely contained within you and not attached or dependent on anything material. Material can only bring temporary happiness and over time simply becomes like any other drug and the constant pursuit of material happiness only makes addicts of the material world. Which means complete bondage to the state of suffering and false identity with the material world. Hence all over the world of mankind.. ppl live with complaining state of being. All material is limited it can only bring limited/false happiness. Happiness in the human condition is the same as being free from desires. Which means to be complete.. whole.. such that there is no need for anything in order to be "happy". This is known as the state of contentment. Humans must know that you become/are the result of the thoughts you practice. This is the most important practice or conditioning of the human state of being, for all that we manifest in life begins as a thought in the mind. When we become aware of our thought conditioning this also leads one to begin to question the origin of their thoughts and how outside environment factors strongly contribute to influencing what thoughts are occupying our minds. So to use a fitness analogy... What kind of reps are you putting in with your thoughts? Are you constantly in pursuit of material desires? Well, that means you are conditioning your state of being to search for contentment in only the material realm. Man can choose to either believe in the need for the material desire.. OR.. the straight path is to attempt to remove the desire from self.. or at least ask WHY do I feel this desire? Follow this path.. and poof.. Happiness! How simple it is to be fully happy.. like an ego-less and identity free infant...content and at Peace..free from internal conflict and being whole..ONE.. when one has been liberated from the concepts of material desires. This is the state of perpetual unlimited happiness. Seek the practices and train your being such that you annihilate the ego and become truly free in being...break the bondage.. become no-thing.. such that you may posses the will to love everything(including your own being, maybe if we fully love ourselves as is, we have no need of the material desires)..free from the inherent biases that come from being bonded to the relative, contextually based "world of parts".. you will no longer be in a place where you are looking to receive.. but you will be so fulfilled that all you want to do is give. But nothing may have changed in your material world.. in fact.. you may find your self with far less material.. but fully filled w Eternal Joy.

    The Honda Fury, Honda Stateline, Honda Sabre, and Honda Interstate all have the same 1300cc Vtwin. If I'm not mistaken, the Fury has a slightly different cam profile in it's 1300 than the others.. Read up on the Fury and Honda states that the Fury has a custom tuned cam design.

    What I love about having a bike is I have my lovely wife hop on the back. When the two of us ride there is a closeness between the two of us. The Bible says love your wife like Christ loves the church.

    I had a 2003 VTX1800c, it was fuel injected. Mine had an aftermarket exhaust, air intake and a FI tuner. Great bike, but my biggest complaint was its lack of turning ability. It was great at highway speeds, but seemed to fight me on slow turns. I suspect it was because of the low profile front tire. But due to other life issues, I had to sell it. Now I'm on a custom chopper and couldn't be happier with the bike! But it's not one of those trailer queen, unrideable pieces of "art".

    I've always wanted a motorcycle but couldn't figure out what until today. I met a guy on a harley and was telling him how I wanted something on the cheaper side. And that I liked the stretched out look like west coast choppers and iron horse and would probably end up with the rebel. He told me about the honda fury. I seen a picture and fell in love. My new goal in life thankyou for the video. It truly has me speechless.

    Sean, I have been riding motorcycles since Feb 1974. I have been "searching" for the "perfect" motorcycle.... As of Sept 2021, I have yet to find "happiness" with the perfect motorcycle. I guess you are right with the Proverbs! Words of Wisdom = "There is no perfect motorcycle." God got that one right too.. Forgot to mention, I have owned over 40 motorcycles and still searching for that perfect bike.
